Hood Chevrolet - Covington

Battery replacement, oil change and tire rotation. Left a voice mail message for Steven around 8:30 am. Never received a return call. Did not perform work during appointment time of 1:30. On the other hand, tried to sell new wipers and in cabin filter. Now A/C fan is making a noise at high speeds which I assume has something to do with the A/C filter. Need to return for repair but have been out of town.

A waste of time! Sent the car in for warranty work and routine service. I had an appointment and they only completed one of the five task. I had asked for someone to call me when I picked up the vehicle and I’m still waiting! I called and left a voicemail for Brad Lasalle on 12-22-2021 and over 24 hours later no one has called. 1. One tire still keeps losing air. 2. On one has called about when the transmission can be serviced. 3. The 3 updates to the IPhone system hadn’t corrected the problem. 4. When will someone update me on the warranty parts on order. I made these arrangements well in advance since I’m told y’all have no loaner cars anymore.

Repeat Customer

We are repeat customers because we are happy with the dealership, products and service department. Our salesman, Stephen Brown was very courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable, answering all our questions. We left satisfied that we had the right car and a good deal for our family. We would give HOOD five stars, however, the car-buying process is--as always somewhat of a marathon -- taking much longer than seems to be necessary.. So, star off for time, and hoping for a more speedy process in the future.

Terrible experience

I bought a used Fiat from Bill Hood. We were told that this car was in mint condition, one owner. It turned out to be a total lemon! Within two weeks we were having to have this car towed to a dealership in Baton Rouge to have the warranty honored. They kept it for almost a month to fix. A month later it left me stranded again. Back to Baton Rouge to have it repaired again. They changed the computer system and said I should not have any problems going forward. Well that was not true. It left me stranded once more, now its out of warranty and I just had to come out of pocket for a new computer system. Not cheap!!!

Great Service That Ends At The Salesman

My wife and I purchased a 2016 Suburban from Will at Bill Hood a few months ago. The salesman, Will, was excellent. When we couldn't find the vehicle we wanted on the lot, he got the exact vehicle that we were looking for that Bill Hood's daughter was driving. They had it delivered to us and cleaned the same day. However, that's where the great service ended. The day after we purchased it my wife brought it back to Bill Hood to see if they could touch up a nick in the paint from a rock that we couldn't see when we drove it home the night before. She was told by the service department that there was nothing they could do because it was "a liability issue". They did, however, have no problem selling her a $28 bottle of touch up paint to fix it herself. It only got worse from there. As an out of state military member we were titling the vehicle in another state. They assured us that everything would be filed properly. Fast forward two months and we got a letter from NC saying that they just received the paperwork and it was signed by a notary but not actually notarized. When I went back to Bill Hood they told me to drive to Hammond to the notary who messed it up at Bill Hood Mazda. My aggravation of having to drive over an hour round trip to fix their mistake was only made worse when the notary greeted me with an attitude and assured me that she was doing me a favor by notarizing this from that she "usually doesn't have to deal with". The only reason I give them two stars is because of the salesman, Will. He was stellar. Everyone involved in the process after that ensured that we will never purchase another vehicle from a Bill Hood dealership.

Best car buying experience I've had, other than when I sold myself a car...lol Have purchased over 50 vehicles and was in the car/RV business 19 years. Sales applied no pressure and used car management showed great skill in there competence in trade valuation on my jeep Rubicon trade. Other local "non jeep " dealers were clueless on trade valuations. Farther south one particular Ford store even called me screaming at me on the phone offering less money for my trade and telling me why they could not understand why I wasn't buying from them. At that store we walked around thirty minutes and never even greated as well.We had to go inside and find a salesperson. I visited there store on three occasions and was a complete waste of my time! ....enough of that you get the point. When I arrived to Hood I was immediately greeted and was also introduced to a manager, he took time and guided my salesperson in the process of finding the right vehicle for my family. Here's what impressed me... 1) non pushy sales person "Joey Carbo" 2) all vehicles clean and presentable and orderly arranged 3) price beat everyone from Covington to Baton Rouge 4) trade valuation ( great compitancy and skill) 5) finance was really easy with great rates non pushy. I actually let my wife go back "alone" and do paperwork.... lol Sorry finance😜 6) vehicle I purchased was clean at delivery and full of gas 7) I was introduced to service and parts and new excactly where to go and who to see on my return visit for service to put on bedcover and all terrain tires which by the way were competitively priced with local shops . Here's another notable experience from 6-8 months earlier . ( This is in reference to Bill Hood Ford in Hammond) As I mentioned I spent 19 years in the business from everything from a Finance manager to a General Manager. Once our church needed an F150 to be used to pick up commodities and such to hand out. So I was asked to locate a truck , So I get on the phone with a guy I know in the car business still to link me up with some Ford managagers at different dealers throughout the area to get a really good price for the church . So long story short I go to two stores in Baton Rouge and one in Mandeville, that came highly recommended. After I was done I turned in a couple bids and they were like 8200 off sticker. Well the church secretary asked why didn't I check with Bill Hood? I said, because they're not gonna beat these deals hun.., lol Well about an hour later I get a call from that secretary and said, Hood just gave us 10,164 off... I liked to fell out . So I ate my humble pie and bought my next vehicle at Bill Hood . Lol Any rate Bill Hood has earned my business now and am convinced you can get a better deal here in Covington or Hammond than in Baton Rouge ! No joke! Sincerely , Craig and Beth Dunn Loranger La

A friend of ours recently purchased a truck from Bill Hood Chevrolet and recommended you to us. We live north of Picayune, MS. Jerry Rhodes and Vince made buying a truck fun instead of a tedious, frustrating experience. I fully appreciate the honesty and help they gave while buying our new Chevrolet 2500 Silverado. They listened and helped us find just the truck we wanted and were totally upfront throughout the whole process. My husband and I have bought quite a few cars over the 35 years we have been married and have NEVER had such a positive experience before. I totally 100% recommend this dealership to anyone looking to buy a car. I give a very special thank you to Jerry-he was a pleasure to deal with, he was very knowledgeable, and he made the whole process very easy. I also want to mention that EVERY person there was friendly, courteous, and professional.

Pit Stops and Free Wash and Vacuum

I use the Service department regularly. For Scheduled Maint and anytime I want I can go in for a pit stop, They will preform a checkup they wash and vacuum it. This is more than convenience for me, I use a wheel chair and keeping up with my vehicle is no longer possible.

After shopping around for a vehicle that I could drive using a wheel chair I signed a purchase order at Hood Northlake. The next day I went to turn in my paperwork, the Manager came in and TORE UP MY CONTRACT!? It seems his team found another $1000.00 OFF! I can say without a doubt I can send my eight year old daughter to this dealership and she will get the SAME DEAL as ANYONE ELSE! As a person being newly disabled I should be driving a van or minivan. My choice of Mobility? A 2011 Chevy Z71 4x4 Crew Cab 2500HD Duramax! I was not forced to accept LESS because of my wheel chair use. Its a big dealership that delivers small hometown service and support...They have earned a lifetime customer! I have purchased plenty of vehicles, its the FIRST and ONLY TIME I left a finance office smiling. They helped me SAVE money my not pushing unnecessary extended warr. only suggesting what would benefit me most. I have used the service center for regular maint since have been more than satisfied every time. I have used ONSTAR not only to get me where my phone GPS stopped but to help report a drunk driver to the police. They were able to use my location to quickly get to the scene preventing this person from killing someone in the process.

Fantastic Long Distance Purchase Experience

I recommend this dealer: Yes My Review of Hood Northlake Chevrolet: This was a stressful and, in my view, a risky purchase. I found that Chevrolet was running a 0% financing special on leftover 2008 Corvettes, and my wife and I decided we would purchase one. We began our search based on our home in New Jersey, and ended up scouring the entire country looking for the perfect car. We found our Jet Blue Corvette at Hood Northlake near New Orleans, some 1200 miles away. It was one of only two like it that we could find in the country. We contacted the dealer through the quote request utility on the Chevrolet website, and started what we expected to be an online, impersonal transaction. We were very surprised to find that would not be the case. From the very first email response from Derek to the final delivery and registration of the car both Derek and Sarah were there for us constantly. They were never more than an email or phone call away, and made us very comfortable working with them long distance. They guided us through all the complexities, resolved any bumps in the road, and even contacted the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission a number of times to ensure the registration and inspection process went well. We had a great experience, and highly recommend the Hood Northlake team for any vehicle purchase - whether you're down the street or across the country

Buying a new truck @ Hood Northlake Chevrolet

I had my first internet truck buying experience. I have nothing but PRAISE for the way the staff at Hood Northlake Chevrolet handled it. I was very sceptical about this internet buying. I would have never thought I would have bought a truck on the internet. The internet is the here and now. It was a great experience. I did not feel pressure at all. I got the truck I wanted at a great price. I could not deal with the dealerships within ten miles of my house. I felt like all they wanted was to get me in for a test drive and pressure me into buying something I did not want. I am forty-seven years old and I knew what I wanted. I knew from researching on the internet what a fair price was and I got a great deal at Hood Northlake Chevrolet. I will advertise for them and continue to do business with them in the future. Mrs.Sarah Cranfield and Mr. Jim Slane did a great job!!

Tried to cheat me twice!!

Monday, November 24, 2008 I contacted Hood Northlake Chevrolet about a 2009 Traverse. The salesman was Joshua Spell. I very explicitly explained I wanted their final, out-the-door price after tax, title, license, trade-in, etc. I was very clear about this and Josh understood this. Before I left the dealership I was quoted a price of $39,816.10 for the vehicle. Two or three times I asked Josh to confirm that this was the final, out-the-door price. Each time he responded, "Yes, this is the out-the-door price." The next day my wife test drove the vehicle to make sure she liked it. When I called Josh to finalize the deal he told me he had mistakenly quoted me the vehicle price only, not the final, out-the-door price we had agreed to the night before. The actual out-the-door price was to be $42,598.54. I told Josh I was extremely upset about this 'bait and switch' tactic. I asked to see the paperwork on the vehicle. This paperwork was done by the sales manager, Greg Brumfield. Upon checking the math on the paperwork I found the $42,598.54 price was fradulently in error. That price should have been $41,494.51, a difference of almost $1,100!! I have the paperwork which verifies this. In summary, Hood Northlake Chevrolet tried to cheat me in two ways. First, the bait-and-switch on the price of the vehicle. Second, fradulent math on price worksheet. I can only imagine how many times they have pulled this scam on unsuspecting people in the past.
