Pressured/Bullied Into Buying A Car I Dont Want and/or Need

by sadcustomer on 10/17/2018

I told this leasing department multiple times that I wanted to buy out my lease and did not want to buy a new car. Over and over and over again. The two men I was working with did not listen. I do not have much experience buying a car and did not have anyone to come with me to do so. They took advantage of me. I was told the vehicle in which I had leased from their facility was basically garbage and would be a dumb investment if I were to buy it out. I wanted to buy it so bad but was repeatedly told it would be a bad decision and “not smart.” I was told I did not have time to think about my decision and today was the only day I had to do so. I was pressured into buying a new car even though I told the two men multiple times that I was trying to save money to go back to school and for a house. I did not want a car payment for the next 6 years. I was in their office for two hours. I was to the point I just wanted to leave and agreed to buy so they would leave me alone. I do not recommend going here. This was a horrible experience and I ended up having a breakdown in this new car that I didn’t even want. My advice, do not go alone to do any sort of dealings with these people. They will make you feel stupid and will not leave you alone, even though you have a made a decision before you walked in. I called the store once I left and asked about a return policy and was told there is none. I asked to speak with the general manager, in which they did not answer. I left a message and have not been called back.

Bill Booth is the man to see!

by OpieAndOlivia on 09/26/2015

I never thought I would be able to say that I trusted a car salesman, but I trust Bill. He is honest and upfront about all the vehicles we looked at. He is very patient and knowledgeable and doesn't rush you. He made me feel so comfortable and he listened to what I was wanting and he found it for me. When we took a test drive of a 2013 Highlander, I told him the true test would be if fit in my tiny garage. We took it to my house, he even moved my fridge to help make room!!! It fit so back to the dealership we went and I bought it. He has been in contact with me since then making sure I am happy with my purchase. I am thrilled with my new vehicle and grateful for such a good guy to help make my purchase as painless as possible.

Great experience!

by maji2006 on 07/15/2015

Thank you for great experience! We are very pleased with your service! It was our first time new car purchase. Stefan Purington helped us to choose the right model of the car that we wanted. He helped us to process all documents and explained the most essential functions of our new TOYOTA PRIUS. To help us Stefan stayed over time. We would highly recommend Stefan as a good dealer to other customers. We believe that if we would decide to buy another car we would come back to TOYOTA on Nicholasville Superstore.

Great experience with Internet department and Stepehn W.

by cpersyn on 11/17/2008

Entire experience was great. I contacted internet department and salesman Stephen W. I had done my research and new what i wanted an 2009 Corolla. I already had test driven vehicle at other dealership so didn't have to do that. I had another email offer from a local dealer [violative content deleted] and Stephen was able to beat that deal without any games. I had a trade in and they gave it me what it was worth, according to the average trade-in value from KBB, Edmunds, Blackbook online. So I knew what it was worth and they came within $85.00 of that. That was a fair offer, which was $300.00 more than Greens. They also matched [another dealership] offer on the 2009 Corolla LE of 16,990, this car had a MSRP of 18,520. Finance department was great, Kevin I believe. Only asked once If I wanted any of the extra stuff they try to add on in the Finance department. The only extra fee was a $22.00 Lien fee, that is the only one that I did not expect. The whole deal from the time I got on the lot to I left took less that an hour!!!!! In summary I got a 2009 Corolla LE with cruise, remote entry, all weather floor mats, bumper protector, 6 disk stereo ,, all weather package which MSRP for 18,520, for 16,990. and 2.9% for 60 months! Got what was fair for trade too! With no problem, no upsale, no extra hassels! Stephen W. did everthing he said he would and was honest and forthcoming. The total deal was within $.70 a month of what I expected and wanted. I would recomend dealing with Stephen W.in the internet department with no reservations. Do your homework! Know what your trade is worth, use all three and even more if you find them of the trade-in valuation sites I mentioned, be honest with the condition of your trade then average them all together to get a realistic trade value, still better to sell yourself though. Email several dealers to get a price from them to get a selling price and ask other dealers to meet or beat, before you ever step in the dealership. Know your credit score so yu know what financing you qualify for. Check over all the paperwork before you sign. Do all this and you should get the deal you want. Toyota on Nicholasville also added some coupons for 1/2 price oil changes (4 I think). They also offer free car washes for as long as you own the car and free detail on your birthday. I even forgot my radar windshield mount in my trade and Stephen W. went and got for me after I had left. In summary dealing with the internet section and Stephen W. was great. Granted I did my homework before I ever went to any delaership. It was a fair and pleasent experience all in all. Highly recommend this dealership and the people I mentioned. Side note, I would not recommend the regular salesman in the main building. It looked like the old stereotype of a dealership, salesmen working a 4 square with un- informed customers crowded in the main sales floor. I felt sorry for those people. Plus those salesman were standing around smoking outside like vultures waiting for the kill. Goes to show you must do your homework and most of the work online with email first!! If possible I will update this post with after the sale service at this dealership. Hopefully it will be as fair and honest as the internet department and Stephen W. and Kevin (?) in the finance department.

Bad place to try and purchase...

by gentlemand on 05/12/2008

Today I first went to have a vehicle that only had 36,000 miles on it and is a 2004. I printed and had with me Kelly Blue Book which showed "good" value on trade-in as $16,420.00...they said my car was only worth on trade in their "black book" $13,000.00...needless to say the vehicle was in better than average condition and had NO defects and all service work had been performed at a certified dealer. They showed little respect for me or my time but sure put out a nice email before that meeting to say they are different....NOT!!!! I won't be back and I will spread the word about their lack of respect and decency to someone who came prepared to BUY!!!

Great Experience

by wooderson73 on 04/20/2008

The last time I purchased a vehicle was January 1996, and it was a horrible experience. I have driven the car ever since (Honda) and was dreading the repeat of the process. However, I highly recommend that if you are considering a vehicle, to at least visit this dealership. Furthermore, go to the Used Car building and see Mark and Fred. These guys were excellent to deal with, no games, no gimmicks, no haggling. I was shown what the dealer will make in profit. To be honest, even if the dealership made more money they than claimed, they dropped my cost so far off the sticker price that I was amazed. I did my research on the internet beforehand, and they know that people have more information at their fingertips than ever before. By knowing this, they don't b.s. with you, and the process was really smooth and painless. Highly recommend.

Toyota on Nicholasville your competition must be green with envy!!

by mjcoll on 04/09/2008

Toyota on Nicholasville is the pre-eminent automobile dealership in Central Kentucky. Their competitors must be green with envy. The atmosphere at the dealership is quite professional. Most dealerships I visit make me feel like a wounded animal in the forest, but that was not the case at Toyota on Nicholasville. I was greeted as if their staff had sold a few cars before. I felt like they thought I was there to purchase a vehicle and they would help me achieve that goal. Dignity and respect for customers is a definate virtue. I purchased a 2009 Corolla. I was in the market for something that offered comfort, enough power yet was easy on gasoline. I was pleased with the fit of the doors, hood and trunk. The parts sounded solid and sealed well when closed. The interior is comfortable and roomy for a small car. The ride is much quieter than many more expensive models offered by other dealers. My shopping day began early in the morning. It was quite nice to browse the inventory in my pajamas drinking a cup of coffee. As I came to find out,Toyota on Nicholasville has a premium Internet shopping site. Each vehicle offered a listing of the standard and optional features as well as a small picture gallery showing the vehicle and its amenities. A picture of the odometer was a nice touch to confirm mileage and give a feel for sitting behind the wheel. After narrowing my choices, a request for a quote received a swift response from the Internet sales department and a timely courtesy call to follow up. I was unable to download my car, but it was important to actually see a Corolla and talk with the people at the dealership. Their focus was on satisfying my needs and what I wanted in a car rather than substituting or upgrading the sale. I was surprised to receive a better price than expected. The financing was seamless. Oh, what a feeling!!!

Purchased two automobiles

by gbrock on 03/18/2008

My wife and I bought two new autos from this dealership in the past month. We sold our old cars privately so the process may have been easier. Regardless, my wife bought a Highlander SUV and I bought a Camry SE. We both worked with Steve Wasson at this dealership. He was easy to work with and did not pressure us in any way. For both of us the process was quick and very satisfactory. They did not have the exact configuration of assessories my wife wanted in stock so they got her SUV from another dealership rather than putting pressure on us to buy one that they had in stock. I had my car built to my specifications at the factory as I did not want all the add ons normally associated with this car. Steve was willing to "shepard" me thru this process and the car arrived within 4 weeks of placing the order. Both Steve and Mark (his manager?) were willing to go out of their way to see that we were pleased with our purchase. Even though that dealership is 10 miles from were we live and there is another one closer, we both feel that it was worth it to deal with them. Lets see if the service they provide is up to the same standard as the sale of the automobiles.

Great Experience

by martingolf9 on 03/03/2008

My wife and I went in to Toyota on Nicholasville to test drive a couple of their vehicles fully intending on figuring out what she wanted and then going to an auction and getting it. When we got there and talked with Brian Collins and Mark Noger we decided that we would give them a shot to earn our business, not really expecting them to be able to match the value we could get with a car at an auction. Not only did they exceed our expectations but the service they provided while doing so was amazing. We did most of the negotiating over the phone and when we got to the lot Brian had both cars warmed up and ready for us to drive to make our decision. The process couldn't have been any easier! Brian Collins and Mark Noger are top shelf individuals that go out of their way to make your experience the best they can. I will definately give them the first opportunity to get any of my future business! We couldn't be happier with the 4Runner they sold us and with the service we received!

GREAT EXPERIENCE

by martingolf9 on 02/14/2008

My wife and I were on the market for a new car for her and we stopped in to drive a couple at Toyota on Nicholasville. Before stopping in we were dead set on figuring out what we wanted and then going to an auction to get it. Once we got there and talked with Brian Collins and Mark Noger we were sold on their service but still felt like there was no way they could come down to the price we were looking to spend on the Toyota 4Runner or Solara we looked at. We left that day but told Brian and Mark to see what they could do. They called us back and gave us a price that we couldn't refuse with the service they offer. Our only problem was deciding which one we wanted so we went back a few days later. When we got to the dealership, Brian had the cars pulled around so we wouldn't have to wait. We ended up trying to get both the Solara and the 4Runner but they had already come down as far as they could on both vehicles and in looking into a 2 car deal they couldn't come down any further. They really gave us their best price right out of the gate! It was a great experience and I will definately give them the first shot at selling me my next vehicle. Just so the other people out there know, I am not one who usually leaves comments or fills out surveys, but after the treatment we received at Toyota on Nicholasville, I thought I should give credit where credit is due. I will return to Toyota on Nicholasville and have already referred anyone who has asked to them based on our car buying experience. Brian Collins and Mark Noger are definately 2 people I will continue to do business with!

Excellent Dealership

by ukslp on 02/12/2008

I purchased a new Camry from Toyota on Nicholasville and it was least stressful car purchase I have ever made. I am a single female and it is sometimes difficult to be in an auto dealership on my own. Though I am a professional I am often treated as if I am not able to understand the process of buying a car because I am female. It was NOT that way at Toyota on Nicholasville! From the moment I stepped into the showroom I was treated with respect and all aspects of the buying process were discssed with me fully. All of my questions were addressed in a prompt and curteous manner. I was given the opportunity to drive several cars, look at several color combinations, and manipulate the features that I wanted. In the end I settled on a color and option package that that Toyota on Nicholasville did not have in stock. The dealership went out of their way to find the car I wanted and have it available for me the next day. Steve Wasson was my Salesperson and Mark Noger was the Sales Manager with whom I worked. Both were very knowledgeable with regard to Toyota and the advantages Toyota has over other makes and models of cars. Though I asked a lot of questions and investigated several option packages, both were patient and allowed me the time to think through my decisions. I appreciate the advice they provided as well as the time they allowed for me to come to my own decisions. My Camry is my fourth Toyota. Although each has been purchased at a different dealership (outside of Kentucky) I would return to Toyota on Nicholasville without hesitation.

Great place to purchase a car

by bphillips322 on 02/11/2008

We have bought 2 cars from Brian Collins at Toyota on Nicholasville; a Toyota Tundra and a Scion TC. The experience was great, we called Brian and told him what we were looking for and what we were trading in. They gave us more for our Trade-ins than any other Dealership and they made it easy. We have bought from two other Toyota Dealerships and this is the one we will return to and recommend for our friends and family. I think one of the reasons we like dealing with Brian is he doesn't act like a typical salesperson. He's very down to earth and treats you like he's known you forever. Even dealing with the Manager Mark Noger was a great experience. We special ordered the Tundra and received it within 3 weeks and the Scion TC we had extra option put on it and within days had it just the way we wanted. I think becuase I work at the Toyota plant in Georgetown, that I am alot pickier than the everyday customer. We really appreciate the great people at Toyota on Nicholasville. Keep up the good work.

GREAT EXPTERIENCE!

by martingolf9 on 02/07/2008

My wife and I were on the market to replace the car she has driven for 10 years and were set to go to an auction to get it until we went to Toyota on Nicholasville and talked with Brian Collins and Mark Noger! A couple of the nicest guys you will meet and definately easy to meet with. They bent over backwards to help us find the car we wanted and we never felt like we had to negotiate with them. They basically gave us the best price they could right out of the gate and that was definately refreshing. I am someone who usually can't stand car salesmen because I feel like I have to put more energy into negotiating and dealing with them than the car is worth. In the past I have walked away feeling like they got every penny they could out of me. I do a lot of research when I go to buy a car and for my money Toyota on Nicholasville will be the first place I look! The next time I am on the market I will definately call Brian Collins.

Returning Customer For Life

by uk0761 on 02/05/2008

My wife and I were in the market for a new Camry Hybrid. Since we live in Lexington, we sent emails to our local dealer, Toyota on Nicholasville, and the surrounding dealers within 75 miles. Almost immediately, we received a phone call from Toyota on Nicholasville saying they had exactly what we were looking for. Knowing the "tricks of the trade" we were cautious when speaking on the phone and made sure the salesman, Brian Collins, knew we wanted a specific car with specific equipment. Much to our surprise, he assured my wife and I that he had exactly what we wanted and asked us to come out. When we got to the dealership, he had the car pulled into the service department so we could stay out of the cold and it was the exact car we wanted. He explained the features to us and made sure we had working knowledge of the vehicle before we even discussed the price. After all of this, we were sure we would spend another 2+ hours working out a price, but Brian made it transparent and easy to buy a car. He did not go back and forth with his "manager" and told us immediately his best price. We were able to buy the car well below MSRP and the finance manager, Shawn O'Bryan, actually got us a better interest rate than what we were quoted at our local bank. To make things even better, we had our windows tinted the next day and Brian actually came to my wife's office and picked up the vehicle, had the windows tinted, and brought it back...all while she was at work. Just so the other people out there know, I am not one who usually leaves comments or fills out surveys, but after the treatment we received at Toyota on Nicholasville, I thought I should give credit where credit is due. I will return to Toyota on Nicholasville and have already referred many friends and family to them based on our car buying experience.
