Very unprofessional

by Tony Austin on 10/17/2021

(I apologize for being long, I didn't know what to shorten. Though I probably should, I'm reluctant to use names here. I can supply that and more details.) Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had buying a car and I've bought several. I drove over 5 hours to get the car I wanted. Notice here that I did not have a problem with the car. Promises were made but never delivered and I had a cpl questions. I tried for over a year to resolve this and finally gave up. I know, I should have gotten these in writing. 1. Salesman would not return my calls. Promised 2nd key, etc.. and to answer my questions. 2. Couldn't get the docs to register my car. Had to call one of the owners after two months. Then he stopped taking/returning my calls or texts. "Let me check and I'll get back to you" 3. At least 3 sales managers (I lost count) would not return my calls. Seems like a pattern. "Let me check and I'll get back to you" 4. Even though I already had a loan and paid them in cash, they hard pulled a credit report . That really affected my score since I just had one pulled few days before for my loan. Check some of the other reviews. Any negative review either has no response or a canned reply. Even more unprofessional behavior. Tony (tony4us10)

Catastrophic transmission damage

by Todd Fortwengler on 06/03/2020

Ran out of gas on test drive. They do not fuel their vehicles. Asked for Ram truck with specific towing specifications, tried to sell me one that didn’t meet those specifications. Bought different truck, transmission failed after 3 days of ownership with 72 miles on vehicle. Will not take back the truck. Buyer beware of Ram and Louisville CDJR!

Bait and Switch after signing - buyer beware

by JoshuaBrown on 07/08/2018

*tl;dr: bait and switch - dealer signed paperwork over fax and then 'sold' my car before I could get there so he could offer me his hard to move lemon cars at 'reduced' prices.* Initially found a listing for an 08 pontiac GXP with 2 owners, 0 accidents and price and miles considerably lower than average through carguru. Called and spoke with Chris who was pretty incompetent. Spoke unprofessionally and didnt seem to be knowledgeable. He said I need to leave my info with him and he'd have a salesman call me. took 3 separate callbacks over half a day from Chris where he explained hes still working on finding a salesman before he was able to get me to the right channels. From then on I dealt with Will. Will was pleasant and negotiating was pretty painless. After a week and a half of Will patiently waiting for me to compare deals and research other cars, values, reviews and recalls (I'm nothing if not thorough) we agreed on a price on Friday. I live in a city 2.5 hours away from the dealership, so I had him sign and fax my bank a purchase agreement, I closed on my loan and picked up a check from the bank and scheduled a personal day off for sunday. At 2pm on Saturday I get an email from carguru notifying me that the GXP I'm looking at has been marked as sold. I call Will and check to make sure they just took the car off because we had finalized. No answer. I figured he was at lunch, so I called the dealership and everybody acts like they don't know who i am. Chris said the sale was closing as we spoke, and I told him we had already closed and signed the paperwork. He mumbles for a few minutes about how it's not his fault, he didnt know it was sold etc. I call Will back (it's been an hour at this point, lunch should be over) and no answer. Figure he might be busy. Call dealership again and get Chris and demand his general manager, which he puts me through to. Manager tells me hes sorry for the inconvenience and hell look into it and call me back asap. 3 hours later, it's almost time for them to be closing so I give Will one last call, no answer. Call the manager again and he tells me all his salesmen have been super busy including him, so he hasn't been answering. Then he tells me that it's not the dealerships fault it got sold and that deposits are required in order to put the car in the 'sold' section because too many people have backed out. I was never offered nor asked to put down a deposit. I point this out, and the fact that we signed a legally binding purchase agreement and that backing out would screw my credit over. I also point out that nobody made an attempt to call me to tell me about the car being sold all day, and it's a quarter till they close. I would have wasted a personal day and made a 5 hour round trip to the dealership with a check for a car that they sold to someone else had I not happened to get an email from cargurus. He understands I am upset and offers me a ford focus with twice the miles, 2 accidents and an open recall for the double clutch issue, or a Kia Optima with a salvage title for 500 more than we agreed on. Neither car would be comparable to the G6 and are priced horribly. The kicker? I see the G6 listed on their site for $2k above the last time it was listed. Had my fiancee call from her cellphone with a kentucky area code and ask about and the sales rep says they still have it, hes looking at it right now. Bait and switch. Avoid at all costs. Reporting to BBB.

Sam Swope Elizabethtown, Ky

Bought a 2013 Grand Caravan in November 2013. Salesman was very pleasant to deal with, no pressure whatsoever. Knowledgeable, helpful and provided good after sale follow up. Vehicle is quite reliable and comfortable in past two years, with no issues.
