Outstanding Experience

Back in June we purchased a pre-owned truck from McGrath GMC. We live in North Carolina and travelled all the way out to Iowa because the truck they had in inventory was exactly what we wanted and it was priced to sell. Even with a healthy amount of due-diligence, theres an inevitable leap of faith that must be made when traveling half way across the country to buy a used vehicle. Our salesman Tyler Kious and the entire team at McGrath went out of their way to make the transaction as streamlined as possible from start to finish. When we took delivery of the vehicle we discovered that the Lane Departure Warning system was inoperative. The dealer offered to troubleshoot it on the spot, but because of our familys time constraints we had to begin the long drive home before the issue could be addressed. Even long-distance, the McGrath team was outstanding and went above and beyond what most dealerships would do to ensure customer satisfaction. We would happily travel 1200 miles to do business with McGrath again.

Watch Out for Warranty Sales Pitch

Our experience in buying our 2017 Acadia was okay to start out with; the sales guys and managers were friendly (of course) and didn't use high pressure tactics. But once we agreed on a price/trade combination and went into the paperwork, the trouble began. The young woman who we thought was just going to have us sign the financing paperwork went into an extended sales pitch, trying to get us to buy extended service contracts. She warned us over and over about how there is so much technology built into the vehicles these days and so many things can go wrong with that technology. We declined over and over again, but she just kept repeating the pitch, saying "I just want to make sure you understand the risks and the benefits how having this coverage." Finally after nearly two hours of this, my wife was ready to walk out. We pressed her to just get the financing paperwork done so we could sign that and go home. So then the woman went and got another guy who also tried to sell us the extended coverage. We shut him down right away, but the whole experience left us very angry. We really like our Acadia, but as a result of this experience we have vowed to never buy another vehicle from this or any other McGrath dealership.

Horrible experience

Typical used car sales people. Typical used car sales atmosphere. Typical used car sales tactics. Bait and switch. Made appointment 3 days in advance to look a 1 specific vehicle. I get there (1 hour drive one way) and I'm told that vehicle is no longer available. Of course they didn't bother to call me and tell me that. I had an appointment to be there at a specific day and time!! They just said "we'll get you into something else. I had poor credit and needed a vehicle pretty bad and they took full advantage of that. Ended up with a vehicle I didn't want and don't like. Yes, Part of that is my fault, but what a horrible company to do business with. I'll never go back there. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This is the best car buying experience I have ever had. The salesman was excellent; very patient and not at all "pushy." He made me feel comfortable and explained everything extremely well. The service in the business department after purchase was likewise excellent and well explained.

Big dealer experience

We felt the finance guy lied to us regarding corrosion and rust through warranty to coerce us into buying undercoating and rustproofing. The when I got home and accessed the on star report about my vehicle, the warranty had started in May...6 months ago. I called the salesman, and he says it is because the car was a trade from another dealer, so we hope that is getting corrected, he assures me it IS a new vehicle.

I do not like going to salesrooms and buying or negotiating for anything, but my experience at your dealership was by far the best one I have ever had. Nathan treated us like family. There was no high pressure from him or Jared to buy a vehicle. We found what we liked and made a deal on it. I dreaded going in and financing part of the price, but once again we hit the jackpot when we dealt with Ethan. I did have fun conversing with him. I cannot say enough good things about your dealership. Nathan was exceptional and my wife and I not only purchased a new vehicle, we also gained a friend.

Kraig did all I asked, and went out of his way to get me what I wanted, at my price point. While I'm suffering from a bit of "I didn't negotiate hard enough." I still believe I got a good, fair deal through a salesman that put my wishes first. Great job, Kraig! Thanks.

Austin D, my sales rep met me at the door with a very friendly greeting. After discussing what I was looking for he suggested a model in stock. During a test drive he thoroughly explained the varios options and their capabilities. All of the people I dealt with during the purchase were very friendly and answered any questions I had. Worked with Lindsey twice over the three months and each time had a very good experience. Lindsey was knowledgeable and listened to understand my needs and helped us to come to deals each time. Will be back and would recommend them to anyone looking for an auto. Do take the time to educate yourself about what you want and take your time. Lots of possibilities at McGraths. I worked with Josh. He was very helpful and worked with me to get a deal I wanted. If you have realistic expectations you will find a deal you like. Be persistent do your homework on what your trade-in is worth and what the car you want is worth. Everyone at McGrath's is very friendly.

My espierence was good then went to horriable when they tried to pull a fast one on me. After negoating they had Clint the manager come over and he was very rude to me and when I left it seems like it brushed off on me. I shopped 3 dealers and they were th highest. BUYERS BEWARE!!!
