McGonigal's Service Experience

I brought my 2018 GMC Terrain to the service department because the rear hatch would go up by Fob or inside button command. However, it would not go back down except by manually pulling it down. This was true for several months before i took it to McGonigal's. However, I did not drive the Terrain for about 4 weeks. Upon having the problem investigated, McGonigal's could not repeat the problem and the rear hatch worked perfectly. They returned the vehicle to me with no charge. My assessment is that the problem may be moisture leakage into the area where the open/close sensing button is located causing the problem. Colder, dry weather may have caused the moisture to evaporate and the problem ceased to be there. My only solution is to wait until conditions exist that cause the problem and then quickly take the vehicle to the service department.

McGonigal's Service Experience

An enjoyable experience

Everyone involved with our lease was really helpful and professional. Lori Newsome initially reached out to us about our current lease coming to an end, and to inform us of the current incentives and pull-ahead program. After a test-drive and some initial discussion, we were on the fence about moving forward because of some financial limitations resulting from uncertain timing with the sale of our home. The new car manager along with Lori, presented several options for us to choose from and we were able to decide on an agreeable offer. Business manager Jace Johnson was personable and did a great job explaining the terms of the lease agreement throughout the signing process. He also brought some great deals to my attention concerning some available extras that we ultimately chose to include in the final agreement such as the Surface Science treatment. All in all, it was a positive experience. This being my third lease with McGonigal, I've come to expect a high level of professionalism and genuine personality from everyone involved, and that's exactly what I got. Great job to all!

Recent OLF experience + cabin filter replacement on my 2013 Buick

I had two recent pick-ups for service. The first one resulted in a follow-up query by me, since a discount and itemized bill was not applied/left for me. However, Service manager Fred Fischer exceeded my expectations with his remedy. Several emails were exchanged and my subsequent service and billing was done flawlessly. All of my questions were answered. I must also acknowledge Ben Russell, who I don't know, who started the ball rolling with my initial contact. He forwarded my original concerns promptly and professionally. Way to go Team McGonical!

Oil change

Couldn't be happier!!

I couldn't have been any more pleased with my first experience with your service department! From the gentlemen at the counter, to the driver who took me to and from work...all were very nice people, who explained everything to me and took the time to answer my questions. Tim helped me get a loaner car when a part needed to be ordered, and when I got my car back the next morning, it was washed and ready to go for me. I have already told several co-workers that between Tim in Sales, and Tim in Service, there is no better place to buy and service a vehicle!

Bypass heater

Bought a used car for my son to take back to college. On the way home he noticed that there was no heat, so we took it up to our local mechanic to have a look. It would be one thing if the thermostat was stuck, but what he found out was that the heater coil was bypassed. This is only done when someone is trying to hide that the heater coil has a leak and was bypassed instead of being fixed. I would expect that from a low class used car dealer, but not an established dealer like McGonigal. Since this car is "as is" instead of the "Warranty Forever" as listed online, we are taking care of the repairs. However, this is the last time we come to McGonigal.
