Outstanding Buying Experience

Just bought a 2014 Veloster Rspec yesterday from Bob Rohrman Eastside Hyundai. This dealership had a great selection of Velosters and they were the only Hyundai dealers in Indy that had the 2014 Rspec. Had the pleasure of meeting with Josh S on Thursday when I test drove the Rspec and worked up some initial numbers. Josh was extremely knowledgable about the Veloster and he was able to talk through the different specifications between the models and between the model years. I was planning to trade in a 2008 Ford Taurus Limited, so Josh took me through the different options of purchase and lease - here, Josh really excelled in explaining the lease option in plain english. In terms of valuing my trade, I feel like they offered me a very fair trade-in value and I got to meet the manager Bruce who was friendly and welcoming. I needed a day to think about it and there was no high pressure sales tactics. I came back on Friday and since Josh was out, I got the chance to meet Greg T. Greg helped me in weighing up the options of going with an 2013 Veloster Turbo with an automatic transmission versus the Rspec. Again, Greg was extremely knowledgable about the car and he has been in the car business for a long time. When it was time to talk numbers, Greg and Bruce were very willing to negotiate and I feel like I got a great deal with Tony getting me through the financing/paperwork quickly. The car was spotless and Greg gave me a final run through before I fired it up and drove home. I would be more than happy to buy another car from this dealer.

Exactly as planned...

Everything was very positive. No issues. The only minor detail I would grumble about is that buying a Genesis from a Hyundai dealership is not at the level of being in a Mercedes or Lexus dealership. But Hyundai made the decision to have the Genesis and Equus brands in the same venue as their entry level brands (not the dealership), which does negatively impact the general perception (again, not a reflection upon the Rohrman dealership, they were good). This IS, however, a reflection upon Hyundai's decision not to commit to a separate (and more upscale) sales channel (like Acura, Lexus, Infiniti, Cadillac, etc.). But the waiting area is perfectly fine, with wi-fi and drinks, the staff is polite and engaging, and the service team has been great for the oil changes. Overall, the dealership has met all expectations of mine. Hyundai put them in the difficult position of competing with dedicated luxury brands (which have dedicated luxury showrooms) using a non-luxury, entry-level dealership model. They did the best they possibly could, and I would certainly buy from them again! Good people, good transaction.
