Toyota RAV4

by GoIU on 02/06/2015

I am extremely happy with the purchase of my 2015 Toyota RAV4! Everybody at Lakeshore Toyota and Lakeshore Ford was very helpful. They displayed outstanding courtesy and teamwork to help with the delivery of my new car to me. I have been purchasing vehicles at Lakeshore for nearly a quarter of a century. With each of the five cars that I have bought, I have had the pleasure of Peggy making sure I had the right car for me. I have always driven home happy in my car and have remained happy over all of these years!

Best experience buying a car

by carolsulli on 04/01/2013

We had a great experience with Jim H. as our sales rep. He was helpful, patient, and was able to get us exactly the car we needed. We felt we received a fair deal without the usual hand wringing. The transaction was professional from beginning to end.

Great experience!

My wife wanted a new Highlander. I sent out several Internet price requests. Lake Shore responded quickly with a respectable quote. We ended up dealing with Eric Stamper. He was a pleasure to work with. We also received a good price on our trade. It was one of the easiest car purchases we have had. We were not fed any typical car salesman lines. We were never pressured into purchasing anything we did not want. I would highly recommend this dealer and Eric. A+

Do not trust these folks!!!

by xbotana on 11/04/2010

I purchased a brand new 2010 Toyota RAV 4 in September. They pulled all the things that make car buying such a pain. Had to come in even though we were trying to close the deal on the internet. Then it's upsell, the car is in Terre Haute, etc.. But, the salesperson (Tracy) promised to come and get the car for service (we live about 30 miles away) so what the heck... On the day we came in to close the deal we had an appointment. We got there and Tracy is selling to someone else, so we sat. Then we sign the paperwork and go to the car (after more upsell attempts by the manager guy, Ron). There are no mats. Well, it turns out that because they got the car from another dealer (dealer trade) mats aren't included. We're not happy, so Tracy says she'll call us in 30 minutes. Not a word from her. The survey comes and we rate her poorly. Two months go by. My brand new RAV 4 clanks and sounds like I'm dragging tin cans. So I call Tracy. Well, you rated me poorly so no pick up and no loaner and you're on your own making appointments and, by the way, service is really busy so come in sometime in a week or two. Ron says we never got anything in writing from them about the pick up/loaner so he's not responsible for what his employee promises customers. Everything car buying shouldn't be. By the way, I've had Toyotas since 1984 and have always had a good relationship with the dealers until now, so you can find an honest Toyota dealer. Just not this one.

Mazda 3 for my teenage son.

by tmenefee12 on 01/06/2010

I purchased this car for my then 16 year old son. I assumed and trusted the sales person was selling me a safe vehicle. Shortly after we purchased the vehicle my son started noticing that the trunk was getting water in it. We did not think to much of it at first. Remember that heavy rain we had , well the trunk started filling up with water and was now leaking into the car and soaking the carpet. At this point I knew something had to be wrong, so I took it to a Mazda dealership to look at it. After inspecting the vehicle the mechanic said you need to see this. He removed the panels inside the trunk and plain as day you could see that this car had been in a serious accident. You could see the bad welds and the non factory paint that was used. The entire back end and side of this car had been replaced and poorley done so. After I found this out I contacted the salesperson and all she had to say was Oh how do you know that and so on and so forth. So I then contacted the owner and although he did end up paying for the car to get fixed he made me feel like this was somehow our fault. He was saying well what do you want from me, like we were trying to get something for nothing, by the time I got off the phone I was in tears. All I wanted was a car that was safe for my son to drive. They sold us a wrecked car and claimed they had no idea that it had been wrecked and were trying to act like we were the bad guys. I find it hard to believe they did not know. They have mechanics and body shop people, don,t they check these cars out before they buy them. The lesson I have learned is I will never buy another used car without having my own person check it out and I will not depend on car fax, because this did not show up on the report. Since we took it and had it fixed to a reputable dealer it will show up now, even though we had nothing to do with it. I feel like they should have taken the car back and they made no such offer. they even sold us an extended warranty on this car, but it does not cover leaks!! I will never buy another car from Lakeshore.
