Worst experince of my life

by Marc on 04/26/2021

I have sent a number of emails to this company. They have lied during the whole process. I am beyond fed up with them. They have lied to me to get me into a car. The sales person was very pushy to get me into the car he wanted. I will never buy another car from this company ever again.

Unethical

by Disgruntled disabled dad on 08/30/2020

So I go on edmunds.com and find a vehicle after searching for a vehicle for me a disabled single parent of a disabled child. I see a vehicle on Edmond site that is a GMC 2011 model available for $4,500, and I communicated to the dealership that I am interested in buying this vehicle. I get a text message from a guy named Brandon asking me if we can communicate by text message, I inform him immediately yes because I want this vehicle, and I don't hear anything more from him or the dealership at all. I sent several messages after that asking him what was going on, and I don't hear anything! I tried to click on the link that I had to view the advertisement for the vehicle on the edmunds.com site, and it is gone! The vehicle was available when Brandon reached out to me, but then suddenly it's gone! If you have a customer pending waiting to come look at the vehicle and purchase the vehicle you tell the people to call after him that hey we have somebody that's interested in looking at the vehicle so you'll have to wait until we know what they're going to do! This company has no ethics for it to have done what it is done and ignore me and my communications with them! I would not recommend any parent ever go to this company to buy a vehicle, and any parent that has a disabled child that buys a vehicle from this company after reading this review, should feel more than ashamed of themselves for help supporting a company that would leave a disabled bad in the position that I am in with a disabled child after having communicated with them about buying a vehicle that they sold after I had told them I was interested in it!

Beware

by Rundog on 09/10/2019

Saw a used Tacoma on Edmunds at Andy Mohr. Listing showed multiple options such as a sun roof, heated seats, etc. Went to see the vehicle and it had none of that. They said they list everything that could be on it and then include a disclaimer to cover themselves. Very shady and lazy. How hard is it to get accurate information?/

Dealership Lied on Carfax and Cheap Fixes

by msorensen on 09/27/2018

I have had a horrible experience working with Andy Mohr Toyota. I bought a used Nissan Rogue from them that only had about 40,000 miles on it and the listing of the car stated "Accident Free Carfax History" in the first line. A few months after purchasing the vehicle, the paint started to chip off the hood of the car. This has progressed and now 50% of the hood is chipped of and paint is chipping from the side doors as well. I took the vehicle to a Nissan dealership and the car was looked at by two of their workers who both within 10 mins of looking at the car said that the paint was clearly not factory paint and was the thinnest paint they had ever seen on a car. I then pulled the Carfax report myself (which shame on me for not doing in the first place) and there was an accident reported on the vehicle. I have contacted Andy Mohr Toyota multiple times to discuss this and keep getting pushed around to different people and told management would contact me which they still have not after a month of trying to get a hold of them. I feel like I was taken advantage of in the purchase of this vehicle. I was lied to in the listing which is a pretty extreme error for a well respected dealership to lie about the accident history in their listing of the car. The car had clearly been repainted cheaply to get it off the lot which explains the dealerships lack of negotiation to budge even a dollar on the listing price because they were going to lose money. The people I have dealt with in the purchase of this car have been rude and dismissive even during the purchasing process. I went into this dealership due to the well known name of Andy Mohr in Indiana and clearly over-trusted them. This has been the worst car purchasing I or my family has ever experienced, has been a huge inconvenience and waste of time, and is going to end up costing a lot of money to fix.

Revisit was worth it

by Indianaburn on 02/03/2017

My wife and I were looking to get a used SUV, and fell in love with one there. Our first visit, lets just say it wasn't very productive. After calling back, getting in touch with the right ppl, they worked the deal for us, and we got the car. Couldn't be happier. Thank you Mr Pineda for all you did.

Watch for Hidden Fees on Used Car

by dustbunnymom on 07/24/2014

I bought a used Prius here only to discover fees above the car cost for: $899 for "rustproof, paint seal," $299 for "theft deterrent," $199 for the document fee (way too high, folks!), and $40 for title (unless I read it wrong, Indiana title at the BMV is $15). I bought the Prius anyway, as used Priuses are hard to find. I spent hours arguing to remove the Ziebart package, which had not been done yet.

They will try to cheat you

by barryj98 on 06/26/2014

My 2011 venza lease was due in a week. I went to the dealership to buy the car. I had an agreed upon price in the original paperwork. I fully understood that there would be sales tax on top of that agreed upon price. The salesman tried to overcharge me by 2000 and THEN added sales tax on top of that. When I caught him, he said well we have FEEs. Never again with Andy Mohr. Times are hard and they are [non-permissible content removed] their customers. I had purchased 6 cars from ANDY MOHR. They lost me for life.

Great Place to buy a car

by mistyblue2u on 01/11/2014

I tried other dealerships, Any Mohr Toyota was the only one that work hard to get me my Ford Edge, even with a bankruptcy they (Mark & Mike) made it happen for me. It took 2 days but they never gave up. I will always be grateful to them and someday will return to buy another vehicle from there.

Choosing my Toyota

by mycorolla2 on 08/22/2013

I went to Andy Mohr Toyota to look at the Prius on my first visit. I wasn't sure what I wanted at first. I worked with Tony and I was pleased with his politeness and willingness to listen. However, when we sat down to talk about pricing on a used Prius I did not appreciate the rude manager who came to set me straight about how valuable Toyotas are and how worthless my Volvo was. He was a giant wet blanket on the whole process. I ended the interaction and left. Two days later I spoke with Tony and told him I would come back to look again but I did not want to see that manager again. I told him that I knew he had to deal with him but I would not. My next visit the negotiation was tough but Tony honored by request and it was an overall positive experience then. I have a new Toyota Corolla that I love! P.S. Beware of listed "internet" prices on their website. They will add fees and any possible thing they can think of so that it adds a thousand or so. I still am angry about the deception going on there. They said it was in the fine print but the internet page they showed me with the fine print was a whole other web page from the one the consumer sees. I recommend this dealer for Tony and their selection, but you have to be on your toes at all times!

Very Patient Sales Rep

by danib55 on 05/13/2013

My husband and I personally worked with Ryne from the minute we walked in the door on day one of a new vehicle search to the last day. We dropped by the lot after hours Friday evening and Ryne was finishing up with some other people before he went home. As he was walking to his vehicle to go home he saw us and took his time to go ahead and come talk to us. We told him we'd be back the next day to test drive some vehicles with him. We decided to trade off my Nissan Rogue because I commute 70 miles to work and the mpg was not sufficient. Ryne told us after probably 5 minutes of talking to him about what bells and whistles I wanted, my commute, and everything else that I sounded like a candidate for a Prius. My husband being anti-CVT transmission and anti-Prius said absolutely not. So 5 days later after many many dealerships and test driving vehicles, phone calls to other dealerships, and a very long and drawn out process. Ryne and I finally got my husband convinced that Prius's are not the devil and I bought a Prius V. Ryne was VERY patient and professional the ENTIRE 5-6 days of dealing with my husband and I going back and forth between the two of us. I would HIGHLY recommend dealing with him to anyone!

Good buying experience

by curtrozeboom on 12/05/2012

Thanks to Rick and Mark for helping us into a used 2010 Ford Fusion. Rick, the sales manager, was very low-pressure and helped create a positive buying experience for us. The details and competitive pricing on the internet helped us feel certain that this would be a good car to invest our time driving from Fishers to Avon to check out. This is the kind of dealer we were wanting to buy from. Other higher-pressure salesmen were driving our business away from their dealers. We were able to negotiate a price we liked without too much fuss. Rick was also very accommodating to our schedule, since we were only able to come out later in the evening to try out and buy the car. Also thanks to Mike, the business manager, who helped us with financing. We had been waiting for a check to clear from our insurance company before we could put money down, but he made it work for us on his end.

Good buying experience

by lindapd on 12/31/2011

Salesman Jack was very patient, my husband and I drove four different vehicles. Showed us several on the lot that fit our requirements. Let us drive alone last two cars. However, was somewhat not knowledgeable about certain features ( hands free phone system). Enticed us to try a vehicle we initially were not interested in and that's the one we bought! Finance officer Rick did not know that certain incentives were only on a Toyota financed vehicle, so we signed papers for the loan and then had to redo everything next day. But, they honored all agreed upon incentives even though they did not apply to new loan. They made it work for us.

Big Disappointment

by kme60 on 11/22/2011

I had the same experience as the last guy. I had researched several vehicles and there were four I was interested in. I was not set on one particular make/model, but wanted to look at all of them. Looked at one the first night, came back to test drive the next morning and it was gone. Vehicle number two was also not available although I was told it was there the night before. I did not have a chance to look at the second vehicle the night before because I was told it was too close to closing time to see it. I had another appointment and had planned to return to look at the other two vehicles. When I returned 2 days later I did see the third vehicle on the lot but was really more interested in the fourth vehicle, which I asked to see first. I was told they did have the fourth and he'd bring it around. The vehicle I asked to see was red. The one I was presented with was blue. It was also 2 years newer and $5,000 more than I was willing to pay. Then I was offered the 'internet' price which was $2,000 less, but $2,000 over my budget. I did test drive the vehicle because it was the same make/model I was interested in and I had never driven one. The test drive consisted of about 2 blocks and I couldn't listen to anything in the vehicle because the salesman talked the entire time. I am not a young person and was also very upset that I couldn't test drive the vehicle myself. I have a valid DL and insurance, plus my own, not too cheap, vehicle was sitting on their lot, so I'm not sure what they thought I was going to do or where I was going to go. In any case, if I had wanted to pay that much for that vehicle, I sure wouldn't have bought it after driving it two blocks regardless of any warranty. I had my own money and didn't need a load, which for some reason was completely unheard of I guess. Needless to say I didn't even ask about the last vehicle I was interested in looking at. I have since found all four vehicles on other lots and have driven all but one make/model. At this point, I still have not purchased as this is not a decision I take lightly as much as vehicles cost these days. I wanted to do business and I do have two adult children who are also looking at this time. Between the three of us I think we will be able to find a reputable dealer to do business with.

Bait & Switch??????

by big_chuck on 11/03/2011

We found a vehicle online (200 Camry). We contacted the internet sales dept. at the dealership. They told us it was ready and available for sale. As luck would have it, I was too busy to go down there immediately. SO I spoke with Rick and he told me to call him the next day before I drove 80 miles to buy the car. I called before setting out to see the vehicle (Cash in Hand). When I called RICK was nowhere to be found and could not be contacted (according to the receptionist). Therefore I asked for the Internet sales dept ( which Rick is the manager of). An enthusiastic lady picked up the phone and I told her Rick and I had been talking and that he had warned me to call before I drove 80 miles to see the vehicle. SO she checked and stated, It is right here in front of me. I asked if it was available and was told yes it was. SO i drove those 80 miles to get the newer car. When I arrived... I met Rick personally for the first time (Very nice man). Well apparently the car had sold early that afternoon.. and it was someone else's fault that I was not told this. Of course they had other ( not so good) deals they could make for my money. Then he proceeded to ask me why I did not talk to HIM before coming down and I told him the story... He said YES they told him I was coming. He wanted me to give him the name of the person who said it was unsold (I didn't remember it)- but they told him I was coming. There was only one female in Internet sales... but since I didn't know her name it couldn't be her whom I talked too. LOL First alternate; Another camry 1 yr newer with 30K more miles + $1000 With apparently no keys since NO ONE could find them. Then it was try to find me any piece of junk I might accept since I was upset that they just didn't tell me NO IT IS SOLD... and RICK WILL CONTACT YOU WITH OTHERS LIKE IT. Anyway; there were THREE of us in the vehicle trying to get the new vehicle, EVERY single one of us got the idea that this was a Bait & Switch.... the cheap car is gone "Want this one". What made it worse is that the car was still on the internet the next day, so my son contacted the internet sales via chat. The first person he talked to told him that they were waiting hoping that the person who wanted it would be able to get financing for the vehicle. As of this writing that very vehicle still shows up on Edmunds.com as in Andy Mohr's inventory for sale... It has been 2 days +. APPARENTLY they figured if I drove 80 miles with cash I would take whatever they offered.... but it had to be comparable and have keys and the price worthy of acknowledgement. DO NOT DRIVE MORE THAN 3 BLOCKS TO DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE.... they will tell you the car is there, then make excuses why it is not there, even though it is in the lot.

Buying experience with this dealer was a positive experience

by consumer47401 on 08/21/2009

Back in February or March of this year (2009) we purchased a used Toyota from this dealership. Our salesan was Scott Vallier. For me buying a vehicle is always a draining experience. It was with this one as well. BUT. My wife and I found Scott Vallier an easy person to deal with in regards to conversational climate. The dealership experience was very positive. When we went up for follow up appointments if Scott was there and saw us he made it a point to come over and greet us. The airbag sensor for the passenger side was malfunctioning. They couldn't fix it that night and didn't have it in stock. So we made an appointment and they said they would have it by our appointment. There was some other work to be done that was promised at the same appointment. The part to fix wasn't in by the time of our appointment and I don't remember if they called us to alert us as to that before our appointment or not. So we had to made a separate trip for that. There was also something a window not cranking correctly. This wasn't discovered prior to our purchase of the vehicle. We had either a 30 day or 90 day warranty of everything when we bought the car. This crank problem was discovered during that warranty period. I think they had to order a part to fix the problem. But they did it with no hassle at all. I'm not giving them 5 stars because it wasn't a perfect experience. But this dealership is very good. Wish they were closer to us in distance. They are about 60 miles away

Ladies, don't shop here

by firemanswife on 04/23/2009

My hubby and I went looking at Andy Mohr for a new truck. The salesman only wanted to talk to dear hubby. No matter I had done some reseach and had some intelligent questions. He kept trying to sell the Tundra versus another truck we were considering and asked why we would even consider the other brand. I mentioned the other brand had good of ratings and a better warranty. The [violative content deleted] ('scuse me salesMAN) laughed and said Toyota didn't have to offer a better warranty because everyone knew Toyota produced a better product. If that is his logic, he's not gonna stay in sales long. We did end up purchasing the truck, but only because dear hubby really wanted a Tundra. The salesman was lousy, as was the finance fella. The top gun at this dealership tried to soothe things over, but we won't buy from Andy Mohr again.
