Knowledgeable and Great Experience

by Paul on 06/24/2017

A friendly and professional dealer. Bought a used Mazda from them. They listened to my concerns and answered all questions, and were genuine in their offers. Helped me get to a price I was looking for and was flexible in the negotiating process. Thank you to your salesman Jeremy for a smooth and satisfying car buying experience.

Good experience :)

by Lilly1957 on 01/24/2017

I bought a car from them over a year ago. My saleslady Kate stays in touch with me all the time. Every time i need service appointment i dont even bother calling service desk, i just call Kate. Even when she went on vacation to Europe, she still communicated with me, and helped scheduling next oil change. I love my car and my experience with a dealership has never been more pleasant and easy than this time. Service guys are also always very informative and helpful. If i buy another Mazda, i will buy from them

Great Overall Experience

by Aric_HK on 12/01/2016

After researching different makes and models for months, I decided on the Mazda CX5 for my first new car. I visited Napleton's Schaumburg Mazda and Marty made me feel completely comfortable with the buying process. He was extremely knowledgeable, and I felt like he legitimately cared about me feeling like I got the best experience possible Marty made sure to stay within my budget, and he still was able to get me the car I wanted. This was an awesome, stress-free experience in a situation where I thought I would be a nervous mess. I will be back to see Marty!

Very Friendly & Helpful!

by JanaOrlo on 10/29/2016

After months of research and test rides I settled on a Mazda CX-5. The next part was finding a great dealer and person to work with. Kate and Skylar welcomed us to the Napleton Mazda dealer, the moment we walked through the doors. Kate worked closely with us finding the right price and financing option that would work best for me. They helped us decide the right amount of cash to put for a down payment. We test drove the car a few times with Kate as she answered any and every question we have with honesty and attention. I'm very happy with the service and attention to detail, both Skylar and Kate showed us. I plan to use this dealership and location for all my Mazda needs as well as reference any friends or people I meet. Make sure to ask for Kate for above and beyond friendly service!

Best Experience!

by KrystynaG on 07/15/2016

This past weekend, I went to Napoleon Schaumburg Mazda for a new car. I was a little anxious and nervous about my first experience doing this on my own. Marty made me feel completely at ease and was very focused on finding out exactly what I am looking for in a car. He made sure to stay within my budget and gave me some different options. He was extremely knowledgeable in all the car models and thoroughly answered any question I had. After signing all the paperwork and finishing up with the financing office, Marty could have let me go and left me to fend for myself in figuring out all the minute details of the car. Instead, he made sure to help me set up my phone with the bluetooth in the car and went through all the details of the screen (setting my favorites, music settings, sound settings, and customizing some of the features of the car) to make sure I left knowing how everything works! (The last place I went to, I ended up finding out about features way later on or not understanding how some worked!) I know that my car is set up exactly how I would like it now!! He really cared about getting me exactly what I wanted and didn't just rush me out of the door after he had everything he needed! He continued to take care of me and encouraged me to call him directly if I think of any question or need anything else! My entire time working with Marty was entirely stress free, fun, informative, and so extremely helpful! I will be seeing Marty the second I need another car! Do yourself a favor and visit him!

Be Warned..

by Romisha2 on 02/06/2016

They will treat you nice and "woo" you until you purchase the car and then you are SOL. I bought a 2011 Mazda3 in August 2015 and they gave me an official IOU as a part of my purchase agreement to touch up the paint on my bumper. I have called over 15 times and driven to the location 5 times in the last 6 months and have received the most disrespectful and dismissive responses from several employees (including managers). Each time they tell me that they will call me back to set up the appointment and they never do. I also noticed that my passenger airbag and Bluetooth weren't working correctly and when I called they said that I didn't have a warranty on my car "in the system". I literally had to dig up the paperwork as proof because they "couldn't find the record" and bring it to the dealership, but I still haven't received any service (2 months later). I have since filed a Better Business Bureau (BBB) case against them. Please don't fall into the trap that I did. Find a respectful place to spend your hard earned money.

Wonderful, friendly, and responsive service!

by Debi_SE on 09/14/2015

I had been looking for a certain 2014 make/model/style car for a while and realized that it was on the verge of being sold out, so I was about to give up on it after visiting several dealers and evaluating the last few cars left within a 5-state radius. My friend and I made one last ditch effort to visit Napleton’s Schaumburg Mazda on a miserable rainy night with very little hope and were greeted by Darrell Phee who went to work right away. He found the nearest car was at least 5 hours away but offered to get the car and drive it back. When he sensed our hesitancy, he told us about a used 2015 that just came in with more options and an upgrade in the model within my price range. At no point during this time did I feel pressured to make a decision or under a hard sell, which would have easily scared me off from visiting a dealership for another 15 years, but instead, he was very laid back and low key about it. He kept in touch with me during the next few days, was immediately responsive by phone or text within a few minutes, and made sure the car was available for me to see at my convenience that weekend. To make a long story short, Darrell was very accommodating and pleasant, low pressure, but to the point, and I bought this beautiful car within an hour or so with no hassle or qualms about it. My friend and I were impressed and ecstatic with the wonderful service and ease of purchasing this car. The sales manager was very friendly and nice, and the finance guy was a hoot What a very pleasant and happy experience! I cannot imagine a better experience and highly recommend that you visit Darrell Phee and friends over at Napleton Mazda! Thanks Darrell and friends!! You made my year -- I love my car!!

Used car purchase

by TheKingcrab on 03/03/2015

Just got back from buying a used car. Dave is a great guy, very personable, and knowledgeable about the car even though it was a trade in. I really appreciated the time and effort Dave took to make sure I was happy with my purchase. I would definitely recommend going to see these folks if you are looking for a new or used car. Everyone was nice and the atmosphere was relaxing, which is more than I can say for other dealers I have been dealing with in the last week.

by MaleShopper on 01/14/2015

Don't believe any good ratings you see. They asked me to rate high on google for a discount, and then also write there own. As a purchasing customer, I can say I wish I had bought elsewhere at even 10% higher price. They add fees (internet fee? for internet advertising), provide zero customer service post purchase (not one response to email or phone about customer service related questions for months), and even sent me to collections when attempting to cancel a refundable warranty upgrade. BEWARE and AVOID. For other reviews, check these: cars.com 2.5stars - yelp - 1.5stars - edmunds.com - 1.5 stars - dealerrater.com - 2stars -

Bait and Switch from beginning to end

by zero_x3 on 10/20/2014

We knew exactly what trim, color, and options we wanted. Unfortunately, our local dealer didn't have it on their lot and had to swap from 500 miles away. Napelton's informed me that they not only could beat my local dealer's price, but that they had the exact car we wanted on the lot. We drove the extra 30 miles to Napelton's to find out that they didn't have the car, and that their offer price assumed all rebates and incentives that I did not qualify for. They would also have to swap for the same car that my local dealer. Napelton's price was still lower than my local dealer, so we asked them to move forward with the swap. The very next business day, we find out that the car is no longer available. The only thing they can find is another car but with remote start. I couldn't justify paying the extra cost they were going to charge me, so I asked for additional accessories (all-weather floor-mats and a cargo map) to help offset the additional cost. They agreed to overnight them to me but only after I complete the post-purchase customer-satisfaction-index survey. I agree and come into the dealership for delivery. Was brought back into the financing room to meet with Rocco. He informs me that since the car is no longer what we agreed upon and now has remote start, they have to add to our originally agreed-upon price. I comply. However, I was then told that because it is a whole different car than originally agreed-upon, I have to purchase their extended-warranty in order to qualify for the agreed-upon financing rate and purchase-price. If I don't take the extended warranty, he will raise the purchase price and the financing rate. In short, the availability of the car was bait and switch, the initial offer-price was extremely misleading, he dangled my purchase rate and financing unless I purchased their extended warranty , and he is still dangling the agreed upon accessories until I submit a customer-service-index survey.

Held my car keys so I couldn't leave.

by romland25 on 09/10/2014

I went to look at the Mazda Touring vehicles and had a Honda Element to trade in as well. This was the worse experience I've ever had looking at vehicles or considering a purchase. This cold blooded sales rep hounded us to make a purchase and not to leave until we did. The repeated phrase "If we do this, will you purchase this now and not go anywhere else?" was said over 15-20 times. And since we said we're not making a purchase today, our needs /desires / wants were totally cast aside in order for them to push a sale. When they looked at our element to talk about trade in value, they took our keys so we couldn't walk away. While we did finally sit down to talk, I noticed the angry family one table over storm out with the sales rep quickly in tow. So far two major red flags. And I couldn't leave if I wanted too at this point. The worst part was the deal itself. Every conceivable phrase was used to make it seemed like you were getting a deal, but weren't. They would not ever talk about lowering cost of the vehicle, but consistently repeated that it would cost less because of lower monthly payments. Asking directly to sell their vehicle at "this amount" was met with, well you're getting a great deal because it's affordable at this price per month. Not a single one of our questions were answered, and was met with another barrage of indirect questions or ignorant statements about what they were "doing for us". They were not friendly, respectful, or aided in making any sort of sale whatsoever and talked in circles never coming to anything concrete. Even talking about the value of the trade in, they kept saying... what do you want for it? We didn't know, but they kept hounding us to give them a quote. It's part of their job to make us an offer for our vehicle and to research the blue book price. When we finally did throw out a number, we were met with statements mentioning that it's not worth much because another buyer would do deep research on the vehicle and find out that it's not worth that amount due to previous histories of the vehicle. We were angry because this Mazda dealership did EVERYTHING it could to undermine, cheat and lure us into making a purchase without doing ANYTHING in return for it. Go to a different Mazda dealership. From our experience our sales rep and the one next two us working with the family nearby should probably have been fired.

Sales reps fine, finance rep [non-permissible content removed]

by nickyplumb on 08/10/2014

Ok lets start with the good, the sales rep Skylar and sales manager Jonathon were great, spent a lot of time looking over cars with us, waited at Firestone while I had the car I liked checked out. Very friendly and helpful. The problems started when we went to checkout. First let me state, we walked in with financing secured through our bank,ok so we go meet Rocco the finance guy, he starts out by saying that there is no way to reach my bank to verify the check they had given me, and immediately said he could get us better financing. I called BS and I called my bank USAA, the cust service rep told me everything was fine and asked to speak to Rocco, he refused saying he had to call her himself as she could be anybody, ( all the time muttering that she wasn't helping my cause). So I gave him her number. I asked him to put it on speaker phone as I would have to enter a pin number, he refused saying he would handle it for us to wait outside. 5 minutes later he storms out of his office, throws the paperwork in front of me and tells me it's a fraudulent loan, well I lost it, my language was not to polite. My wife and I stormed out. While outside I called my bank to see if there was some error in the paperwork. they checked their records as they log all calls, she told me the only inquiry into my acct had been my call earlier. I went back in to talk to the main manager, now I was really mad, I also had my bank on the line. My banker gave me a direct line and I had the manager call them bank, it's a miracle he had the approval in 2 minutes. To be honest the only reason we bought the car was 1. I liked it, 2.it was a good deal, 3. and I really felt for Skylar the sales rep,I hated to see all his work and effort go to waste over some other [non-permissible content removed] shady business practices. I would never recommend anyone to this dealer unless they get rid of rocco.

I walked in looking to sign for a vehicle for my father in law who had a trade in and was supposed to get $500 for his old car. Everything was ok during the initial process but when It was time to sign the docs that's when things got a little odd. So the selling price for the vehicle on the paper work was showing $550 more than we had agreed on and was listed on cars.com. He tells me that there is doc prep fees added to the price when the doc fees are clearly listed down on the bottom. Then the price we were promised for warranty was higher because supposedly instead of getting a discount on the warranty we got a discount on the rate, what a bunch of crap. I swear I only went through with the process because my father in law was ok with it but if the car was for me, I would have got up and left without signing anything. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. Very unethical.

Only for the 'serious' buyers

by RobD74 on 09/07/2013

Went in to try and test drive the MX5 Miata Club and the salesman Skylar came to talk to me as I was looking at it. Skylar went inside, I thought to get the keys, instead talked to his manager who told him to inform me that they had a previous ‘incident’ on a test drive and that I wouldn’t be allowed to drive it. I said “That’s fine, how about you drive it just so that I can somewhat get a feel for the car at least?” Manager tells him no and Skylar somewhat changes his story and tells me that only ‘serious’ buyers can drive it but that I could test drive a Mazda 3…really?? Frustrated at this point I decide to at least get a price on the car so it’s not a complete waste of my time. Skylar, who is on the internet team, quotes me full MSRP. I mention to him that the website says the contrary at which point he gives me some salesman back talk. The MX5 is a great car but any Mazda dealership knows that it’s the lowest selling model of their entire lineup and should be ecstatic when someone shows interest in it. Good luck Napleton in trying to move your inventory with that attitude after the summer prime time for convertibles. I bought mine at Pugi where the exact opposite of my experience with Skylar and Napleton’s happened.

Not an Honest Dealer - Would Not Recommend

by yahsaki on 07/21/2013

It was my first time to buy a new car and I obtained internet quotes from several dealers. Schaumburg Mazda's quote was over $1500 lower than others I also got quotes from, so I went in there to talk. Then I realized that the sales reps (pm me if you need this name) quoted me with incentive/discount that I was NOT eligible for in this email quote, without detailing them in this quote at all. When I brought up this issue to his attention, he dodged my question. I didn't want to have hassle with them down on the road for this unpleasant experience to begin with, I bought the car from somewhere else. My family moved into town recently and needed to purchase vehicles nearby but I guess Schaumburg Mazda will not gain our business for good for this experience. And we will share the expereince within network and people we know. They lure you in to talk by offering low low price. If you are the first time buyer or don't have general experience to buy a new car, I wouldn't recommend this dealer to you at all as you may end up like me.

Opaque Sales Practices

by voicefreason on 04/03/2011

I bought a previous year's vehicle from them last week. It was priced lower than the current year's model. I purchased it at the advertised price online sans the destination fee they were trying to add at the time of bargaining. I was not offered a chance to drive the car because they mentioned that it did not have any gas in it. From the outside it looked like a new car so I went ahead with it. After finalizing the deal I found out that it had over 600 miles on it because it was transferred by another dealer by road. I brought this to the salesman's attention and he said it is still considered new and they will start the warrany from that odometer reading. I wish I had stayed firm and talked to the manager about further discount since I negotiated the price based on the 2 miles they had listed on the advertisement. They also hinted me to give them a high rating on the mazda survey in return for taking good care of me if anything happens to the car in future. and the situation on the edge of the warranty terms. The salesman was nice to talk to and also promptly followed up in setting up the service appointment for a minor insulation damage under the hood. The main thing that bothered me was the lack of honesty regarding the high mileage on the new car
