Dishonest

by Mardonio Alvarez on 04/07/2020

Where should I start ,well I had a car with negative equity and filled out the credit application, got a call from the salesman that they got an approval on getting a Kia stinger .I didn’t want to put money down but had too cause that’s the only way I can get the car so fine.I got to the dealer salesman was like we are good to go this is your payment and and loan details and I asked is it for sure cause alot of dealers say that to get you into the building and then you sit for hours and then the deal doesn’t go thru,he said no it’s 100 % good .So we go into finance office sign a bunch of papers and I asked the finance guy ,so you guys got an approval he said yes do this guy should know what he is talking about. He shook my hand took the car home and I was so happy. On the way home on the highway the car was making a humming noise didn’t sound good .Called the salesman told me to bring it in.So I left it there for a day and a half they said the brakes need to be resurfaced and I told the service guy it’s a brand new car how could this happen he said from sittings ,so whatever as long as the noise is gone.I told the manager I wanted a new car for instead of this one cause if it’s already having problems one day after a buy it who knows what can happen later. He said he can’t give me another car I signed a contract I can’t give it back and get my old car ,they will fix what’s wrong with the stinger.Fine I did sign the contract hopefully no other issues come up.Today I message the service guy and ask what’s wrong with the car he said they had to resurface the rotors and it won’t be ready till tomorrow. Then I message the manager and he says in order for me to keep the stinger they want more money down or add a co signer .He said they got a partial approval which I never have heard of.They said I can pick up my old car unless I do one of the 2 options. So they can get out of a contract but I can’t.Not only did I get lied to about on a approval once but twice and the first time I wanted to take it back they said I couldn’t and now that they really didn’t have an approval they got out of the contract ,I was lied too and wasted my time .You are either approved or not never heard a partial approval and why would they let me take a car home if I wasn’t approved and 2nd of all the car I bought already had issues on the way home. These guys are [non-permissible content removed] and unprofessional they tell you what’s you want to hear. They waste your time and will never recommend anyone to this dealership!!If there was a way of rating them no stars I would!!

Horrible Experience, Terrible Customer Service

by NotAHappyKiamper on 07/02/2019

My husband and I were in the market for a new, affordable family SUV. On Saturday, 6/29, we went over to Bob Rohrman Schaumburg Kia and ended up purchasing a 2019 Kia Sorento. Our sales rep, Dorian, was great. He mentioned that this particular car had been on the lot for 100 days and they would be able to get us a better deal. Before leaving the lot, we noticed that there were white stains on the black cloth seats and the fuse cover on the dashboard was missing. We were coming back in a couple days to have the remote start installed so Dorian said they would fix that for us when we come back. So we drove the new car home. Within hours, problems started arising with this new car. The plastic shroud in the front of the engine had large scratches and gouges in it. The front passenger headlight had condensation on the inside of the plastic. Also, there seemed to be a problem with the alignment since we were constantly veering off to the right. So now, we have a large investment with a 6 year loan, just north of our cost comfort zone that has a missing interior piece, stains on the seat, a bad headlight seal, a gouged engine shroud and it needs an alignment. The dealership was closed on Sunday so I called first thing Monday, 7/1, and told Dorian about all of the issues. He said he would talk to the manager and call back but there was no call back. My husband and I left work early to go back to Bob Rohrman Schaumburg Kia and speak with the manager. We waited 50 minutes to speak with the manager because I guess she was busy with end of month work. Dorian went back and forth between her office to us and when we asked for a GM, that’s when she had the time to meet with us. The sales manager, Tiffany, did not make an effort to help us. We expressed our concerns about all the previous issues stated but also that Dorian now stated that the car sat on the lot for about 200-300 days! Not 100 like we were told on Saturday. That can make a difference in the quality of the car. After hearing us, her instant response was that we signed a contract and by Illinois Law, there’s nothing they can do. We were in disbelief to her response. She never apologized or asked what she can do to help. She stated facts and was combative. In response to me telling her that I didn’t look under the hood, she actually said “we didn’t tell you that you couldn’t open the hood.” She said when people buy cars, they do a once around and make sure everything is okay with the car. As if it’s our fault that this car had all the flaws. We acknowledged that we signed the contract, which was never in question. We know a contract is a contract. We went there in hopes of something. A BRAND NEW CAR should not have these sorts of issues. If any! Not within hours of purchase! We are not satisfied with the product and simply wanted our voices heard. But she continued pushing the fact we signed the contract and that a deal is a deal. There were no other words said except "but you signed a contract," "there's nothing we can do," "under Illinois law, there's nothing we can do." She said that the warranty will fix anything, which we know. But this is within the day that it had issues. That is not right at all. She showed zero empathy and a complete lack of customer service etiquette. She had no desire to help a customer in need and made us feel as though we were an inconvenience even being there. We both left in shock at how we were treated at Bob Rohrman Kia. She should have at LEAST asked what she can do to help. That is key in customer satisfaction. Customers might not be able to get everything they want, but it’s important that they leave satisfied. I am unhappy with my purchase. I am unhappy with my experience. Customer service goes a long way and the complete lack of decency displayed by management at Bob Rohrman Schaumburg Kia left us completely dissatisfied.

[non-permissible content removed]!!

by Justin320 on 05/22/2017

A sales manager from this dealership called us about buying back our car. We have them all the details of our current situation but they insisted they had an actual independent buyer who was interested in our specific model and trim and would pay above the KBB price. So we decided we would at least hear what they had to say. When we went I try to dealership, no one had any idea of our appointment or why we were there. They blamed it on the fact that someone from their BDC department had misinformed us. I called [non-permissible content removed] and demanded to talk to that manager, whose name is Kayla. But they were not available. No one was available. It was on par with a bait and switch. This place is the absolute worst.

Unfortunate experience

by Graham Allen on 04/05/2017

We were lead to believe the Sorento we purchased had third row seating as did the vehicle we test drove. Only after returning home with the vehicle the next day (dealership was closed) did we notice there was no third row seating. When the salesman called to follow up he said he would 'speak to his manager' about making it right. However, we have yet to hear back. On top of that, we were supposed to hear from the service department to have leather seats installed. Again, no call and it has been almost a week since we purchased the vehicle.

Not impressed

by Disappointed Dan on 04/02/2017

Used the website to request best price. Was contacted to setup a meeting at the dealership. Went in to find out the car was misrepresented on the website and did not have navigation. Then I was told that there is no better deal than what was on the site, even though there is a button for get the best offer. Dealership was not clean. Left without the vehicle. Would not return.

The Worst Experience Ever

by howardfine2002 on 02/07/2017

I leased a vehicle from this dealership three years ago when they were on Dundee. I was very satisfied at the time. My lease is coming due and I talked to the GM on the phone and told him what I wanted including the fact the car should be a 2017. He quoted me a price. The next day I came to the dealership and was turned over to a salesperson named Jay, He again quoted me for the 2017 vehicle with the same price. I called the next day to finalize the deal and was told by the GM that he quoted me on a 2016. After talking to Jay again he agreed it was on the 2017 and he would discuss with the GM. Of course he has never called me back. I called for Mr. Rohrman's son and told him about my problem. He promised to call me back. Just like his employees, no call. I did get a better deal from the new company on Dundee. The end of the story is the people on Dundee sold a car and the people at this dealership lost a customer, so which dealership is smarter.

Buyer beware

by Timothypineda1 on 12/20/2016

If there was an option for zero stars they would get it! I purchased a 2016 Kia Optima a month and a half ago. Kia messed up my finance paperwork and never notified me about it. Meanwhile I'm sitting here waiting on payment information. They also never paid off my previous car. I have contacted Kia multiple times to get this taken care of, I've spoken with a number of people ( Eli, Darrin, Alik and Jesse) they all have assured me that they will handle this. I've been told twice by Eli that they have payed off my old loan but I'm still receiving calls from Kia finance about being past due. I have made 3 appointments to go in and get this situated, everytime I show up, nobody is available to help or the person I scheduled it with simply blew it off. I have left many messages and no one returns my call. A month and a half later and I still do not have paperwork, haven't resigned my paperwork and I'm past due on my previous car with Kia. This is now my 3rd car I have purchased from this dealership and this is the worst experience I've ever had. I would not recommend anyone to go to this dealership. You would think Bob Rohrman Kia would treat returning customers with respect. I plan to report this dealership to the BBB and to the attorney general. I also plan to put this on as many review sites I can find. DO NOT BUY FROM BOB ROHRMAN KIA!!!

Buyer Beware!!!!!!

by Dennisl8834 on 10/21/2015

Potential Buyers Beware!!!!! Worked with Omar and Eli and they said they could help me get into a used car. Upon looking at a few guys, they were able to get me approved for a loan. Yes, my credit is bad and I was expecting to pay high interest rates, but what happened next is unbelievable. They showed me a Scion TC that is listed on their website for $9,000. They told me my payments would be $460 a month for 48 months. (I was even putting $1,000 down) Needless to say, I said No Thank You and left. You do the math. That's $22,080. Omar began to say well your credit is bad and that's 25% interest. Ok, but that means this car is more then $9,000. Lets do the math. Lets say I was buying a car for $10,000. 25% on 10,000 = $2,500. Tax in IL is about 10.5% Average DMV Fees are $99. So that makes is $10,000 (car) + $2,500 (interest) + $1,050 (tax) + $99 (DMV Fees) = $13,649. Take that and divide by 48 months 13,649/48 = $284.35. Where is the missing $175.65 a month coming from? Doc Fee? How much are these Doc Fees???? Let's be real here, this place is trying to take advantage of a person who has bad credit. I'm not giving this place 1 star because of the interest, it deserves 0 stars for the trying to play with the numbers. I understand buying a car is frustrating but please take my experience as a warning to others. You have other choices. Be smart, even if your credit is bad. You don't deserve this kind of treatment.

Bait and Switch

by Janinefiore on 08/28/2015

Classic bait and switch. I even made sure to call the dealership before I made the long drive to look at a car I saw on line. By their own admission the manager and the person I spoke with on the phone were aware that the price on the ad I saw was wrong but they let me and my husband drive there anyway and decided instead of calling me they would let us know about the mistake when we got to the dealership. We drove an hour to the dealership and they left me standing around for another half an hour or more while they checked with "whoever" to see what kind of deal they could make me if I purchased the car. They offered it to me at about $2,400 over the advertised price. I'm not quit sure if this is illegal but I am certain it is HIGHLY UNETHICAL. I can't say anything about the cars they sell but beware that even calling the dealership ahead of time does not insure you will see what was advertised on line. I am not talking about one rogue sales person. The management was aware of all this and still let me make the drive in. Consequently, I left the dealership about six hours ago and the car is still listed at the deceptive price that brought me in! That was the last straw and what made me sit down to write this review. This dealership is not to be trusted!

Wow...Terrible Experiance

by Laurunt on 03/09/2015

On Saturday March 7th I visited the Bob Rohrman Kia of Schaumburg. A call was made to insure that the 2003 Subaru Forester listed on Cars.com for $4,525.00 on 2/13/15 now listed as price negotiable was still available. We were told yes it was still available. We met with a very nice sales man who reviewed the vehicle with us. The nice man did not put up too much of an argument when I called out some of the obvious issues: Fogged up headlamps, oil not recently changed, poor condition (Dirty, broken passenger seat, lack of floor mats) of the interior. It is understood that when buying an older vehicle it often means less than perfect. The issue was not with our sales man, it was with who we were told was the manager of the facility. The shock of the opening price cannot be under stated...This dealership opened our conversation with a price of NOT the Cars.com price of $4,525. but with a price of $6,999.00 and when it was questioned by us and the sales man - he brought in - we were told- the dealership's manager who proposed a willingness to split the difference of the publicized price of $4,525.00 and this NEW price of $6,999.00. When questioned about the price difference...we were told “it is probably because work was done on the vehicle since the post of Feb 13th.” When we asked for a listing of the work we were told it was being looked into. None of the “work done” was showing in the Car Fax/car history provided to us. A further explanation for the pricing was that it was due to the Auto Show in Feb and that pricing is no longer available. We made a very fair offer- above the .com pricing we went in with and it was immediately turned down by the facilities manager. This car is still showing on the Bob Rohrman Schaumburg KIA site. What a huge disappointment from such a long time IL and community dealer- Bob Rohrman. We expected professionalism and instead got obvious “predictable Used Car” sales treatment. rotten, underhanded and what felt like being lied to our face.

great car purchase experience

by ben823 on 03/11/2013

had a wonderful time purchasing a vehicle from this dealership, great manager in Mo, my sales person was Edmund E. and he showed me all three trims of the Optima and I went with the ex with a premium package... Edmund was informative but not pushy something I like. my experiences with other salesman was to put me in a car to make a buck. Edmund took the time to listen to me and showed me the benefits of the Optima. I highly recommend purchasing from Schaumburg kia.
