Watch your wallet and inspect the car carefully!!!

by Roz on 05/05/2023

They added lots of extra fees and costs and left off two lug nuts and installed the license plat crooked. In addition to the agreed upon price, and without asking, explaining or discussing, they added-"Key Assist Plus(Just a roadside assistance service.) for $798, Luxcare XT for $998.(Its a paint coating.) and Theft Deterrence charge of $398. Plus they, in my opinion, charge way more than other dealers for doc fees, license and title etc. When confronted they agreed to drop or lower some fees, but claimed the Luxcare XT was already applied but they would "only" charge their cost of $798. When I got the car home, I saw the rear plate was installed crooked. My husband found a 3rd screw hole had been drilled above the factory, driver side, hole for no obvious reason. Yesterday, I took it to a local quick lube place and they told me it was missing two lug nuts. The car itself is nice. After the attempted fee scam, they called trying to revive the deal. I told them I'd pay the agreed upon price and tax, nothing else and they agreed. I feel they saw a 75 year old woman and tried to take advantage of me.

how to avoid getting screwed

by J Wessel on 10/08/2020

Sean helped us get in and out with a trade for a beautiful 2020 cx9! What I didn't know at the time is that I was lied to about the check I would get back for my traded CX-9. I had made my payment 3 days before I traded my lease. I was told I had to do the first payment for the new lease, but not to worry because I would get my payment from 3 days prior returned. Here I am 2 months later with no return. I have called the dealer, sales manager Ricki, that he is working on it everyday. I was also told the dealerships owner is involved and won't doing anything to "make it right" until Mazda returns a call to Ricki. When I spoke to Chase, I was told the dealer lied to me and they did an a payoff less the $565 payment I just made. This is my 12th Mazda, the 2nd time I have worked with this dealer and I am going to make sure I post this everywhere I can. I should've went to the dealer I know or made the switch to Jaguar. Shame on me. Don't let them lie to you too!

Unprofessional

by Carol D Wright on 12/23/2019

The Salesman I work with has lack of customer service skills, I was lied to about my purchase and trade in afterwards. I was asked by the dealership manager Sales persons and Manager of the Finance department to lie on the survey in exchange I will receive gas and oil change and tire rotation services. I will never in life recommend for anyone to shop at Napleton Mazda ever in life.. Sales Person and Managers are [non-permissible content removed] and very unprofessional.

not gonna going back there

by asuperupsetcustomer on 10/22/2019

First time there, we went in a week ago asking for a used 2019 CX-5 with 3000 miles on it, but we ended up with a different one with $1000 more, which was fine; however, we DIDN’T get good explanations of the car's features, the sale person was nice, but he assumed that since we traded in a Mazda 3, we should know everything about the CX-5 we were test driving. We ended up bought the car and paid in full. A few days later, we found out that the car doesn’t have the navigation system, and we were super bumped. When I called the sales person, took him two days to get back to me; which i understand that the sales persons are always busy. However, even he DID apologize about not giving us good explanations about the car we bought, he can't do anything about it, but his manager might. Took me another two days getting a hold of the manager, whom is telling me they did nothing wrong; they are not responsible for explaining all the features to us!! Instead, we should be responsible for asking all the questions about the car, even we came in with a different car in mind. I think, for this dealers management, when the customers paid in full and out of the door, whatever happens was not their fault, and the customers are the ones to blame if they comes back for more questions.....this kind of customer service, only works for new customers, and we are DEFINITELY not going back there.

Communication Sucks

by JEENA123 on 09/19/2018

My tire pressure light came on this morning, so I called service to see if they can take a look at my car and if needed to put air in my tire. I went to the dealership service area and the guy "sure, we can take a look at it". I waited for a while, which was perfectly fine. After a while, I see my car pulled up and I noticed that they washed my car. I go to meet the person bringing my car and he says "your car is ready and good to go". I say, "well what happened to my car? who gave permission to wash my car? what was the tire issue, and what was done to fix it?". He said, "oh someone should have spoken to you about it." I said, "no, no one did". At this point, I inspected my car, specifically the hood of my car (which I will explain later). I saw some immediate fine scratches. I was pissed. So I went to talk to the person who originally took my car. I asked "what was done to the tire of my car, how did the problem get resolved and who gave the permission to wash my car?" He didn't have any idea what was done to my tire, so he had to go ask. They told me that, my rear passenger side had a nail and they plugged it for me. I said okay fine. But who washed my car? He said we did, it was complimentary. I said, I never asked for a car wash. I brought the car in for a simple check up of my tires and for someone to tell me what is going on and to consult with me on what I needed done or how to proceed. I then began to explain to him, why I was very upset about the car wash. I have only gone to Napelton Mazda dealerships since I bought my car in September 2017. I only went to Arlington Heights Napelton Mazda for oil change services and noticed that I had several scratches on my black vehicle that was even on both sides of my car, which could only be explained by car washes. Therefore I decided to pay out of my own pocket to a very nice auto body show, who did water sand washing and buffed out my scratches on my hood only (because I did not want to do the entire car at the time) and made a decision at that time that I would never take my car to get washed at a dealer and I had not washed my car since I got it buffed out. I saw scratches immediately on the hood of my car, after the Napelton in Libertyville washed my car without my permission. The man that helped me, said "his car wash is brand spanking new" and therefore it could not be their car wash that caused this. He was rude, and made everything seem like it was my fault. Then went on to say how I should be happy because they fixed my tire, which had a nail in it and they plugged it for free which it should have been a $30.00 charge. I said, I did not ask you to perform a service for free, I will pay for it if you would like. But at no time, did anyone consult with me that there was a nail and whether I wanted it to be plugged or what we should do or how we should proceed. Nor did anyone ask if I wanted a car wash. It is not the dealers right to perform such services and or acts to my car without my permission. I am furious at the service and incompetence of Mazda Napelton. I will NEVER recommend anyone to come to your location. I came to this location when I first started looking at purchasing a vehicle last year and I felt the people were rude and unhelpful at this location and therefore we went with another dealer. I love my car and take care of it. I am so upset that this dealership service people were rude. I have had numerous issues with the Napelton family and the way they take care of their customers.

Really frustrating experience.

by mccoy1983 on 07/24/2017

Had the most unpleasant 'buy a new car' experience with this dealership. Agreed to pay deposit for AWD, got FWD instead in several days, and they insisted we agreed to FWD! Two days after signing the contract (after all they showed a good price), got call from the F&I person stating they've made a mistake, and I have to return to their place, resign the papers and pay 2 thousands more!!!! Was shocked, but it appears they make you to sign the rider, stating they can cancel the deal. I had to return the new vehicle I already considered mine to them. Think twice before going there, and be wise to avoid paying deposit for the car they don't have on the lot!

I loved buying my car here!

by Ana1234 on 07/04/2017

I had a wonderful time buying my car here. Very courteous, friendly and honest. I took it for a test drive and loved it. In a half an hour I was done and they offered to fix 2 scratches on my car ( one of which they noticed and I hadn't) and shampoo and detail it for me. This was the best car buying experience I have ever had!

Great Dealership to Work With

by J__N__S on 04/21/2017

I had the pleasure of working with Ryan Kennedy. Ryan worked hard to accommodate my needs and my budget and kept researching ways to find a compromise that would ultimately put me in the right car at the right price. I appreciated his easy-going, low-pressure style and the even-mannered way he presented his ideas.

Great Dealership!

by patty0928 on 04/07/2017

I bought a car last weekend from this dealership and I had a great experience with the salesman Frankie. He was very helpful and answered all of my questions without hesitation. The manager Jayson was extremely helpful. (And quite funny) I was very satisfied with my purchase and I highly recommend this dealership.

Great Exerience

by Elizabcx3 on 02/22/2017

We recently purchased a new CX-3 from Napleton. Starting from the first phone call we were treated well. They worked hard to get us the car we wanted with all the features we wanted. To top it off we also got a great deal. Their entire team worked hard to get us the car we wanted at the price we wanted.

Sean is fantastic

by Kruck10 on 02/21/2017

I stopped into Napleton Mazda in Libertyville after shopping for, in my opinion, way too long. I'd dealt with a bunch of shady old guys all day looking to replace my civic and not a single one of them wanted anything to do with me other than to take my money. I left half-way through the process of looking most of the time because these guys were plain old boring! And falling asleep on a test drive doesn't tickle my fancy. So, tired and just wanting to be able to tell my boyfriend I'd put in the time, I made my last stop at napleton Mazda. Right away, the salesman was something I hadn't seen all day. He was probably my age, and he was actually dressed like he cared about his job. Immediately you could tell this guy was excited about talking to me. And not in a creepy way, just excited to be able to show me some cars! Sean O'Keefe was a breath of fresh air, and definitely impressed. The conversation never died out, and when it was time for business he was very professional. But when we were driving, or just in between tasks, he had a joke ready for every occasion. It took me a minute to get the humor, very dry, but once I caught on the two of us hit it off! I'll be back next time to see him again. Hopefully in the span of the next few years of my Mazda3 lease he doesn't lose any of that youthful energy! Thanks for making it so I went home happy Sean, and for making Napleton Mazda in Libertyville somewhere fun and easy to shop!
