Fair and Honest Car Buying Experience

Thanks to everyone at Max Madsen Downers Grove, and especially Mike Rozzati, for going out of their way to deliver me the exact car and monthly lease payment that I needed. I especially appreciated their honesty and hard work in finding me an even better vehicle when the first one didn't pan out. Also, sticking to the same payment and terms that were originally talked about, even though the new car was more expensive, newer, and more fully loaded. I cannot praise them enough for their honesty, transparency, and ethical sales practices. As someone who visited many different dealerships before buying, I highly recommend Mike R. and team!

Great Experience at Max Madsen Downers Grove!

I have bought many cars in the past, and this is the first time I've worked with a dealership that I wanted to write a review on. We started shopping for a used car on the internet - from the first email response I sent Max Madsen to the actual purchase of the car; they were friendly, responsive, efficient and fair. This has been by far the best car purchase experience I've had. We worked with Elwira and Rory in Sales, Delyan the Used Car Manager and Ken in Finance. What a great team! I would recommend them to anybody and will definately come back.

Lied To Over And Over !

Lied to by a salesman numerous times. I wanted to purchase a new 14 evolution gsr which I was told cant be found. The only states that supposedly had them were California and Texas. So I told the salesman to keep me posted if he finds one closer. Couple days after I was browsing a evo forum and a member was saying how he gets to pick up his new evo in a couple days. I messages him to ask where he was able to find one and he tells me max madsen downers grove. I was then really mad and called the salesman and told him that I knew they had transferred a evo in for this buyer and that they had lied to me. He then of course back pedals and tells me that all of a sudden they can transfer me one as well. I was so upset that I emailed a manager there and explained how I was lied to and deceived. Which fell on deaf ears this guy was completely useless and defended his salesman completely and explained that I wasn't lied to. Didn't offer any assistance what so ever to try and save a potential repeat customer. Complete lack of customer service ! Do your self a favor and take your business to another dealer. You will be glad you did.

JD (Jeff Fox) was a pleasant salesman. He will work with you on a great price for a great car. It took us 4 trips to the dealership to make a great deal. One thing I would caution is to do your car homework and just tell him what you want and at what price. If you are trading in your car, make sure you check the value online before you go. This is to make sure everything is on the table before you make the deal. Beware of Roberto, I think thats his name. He gave me a run around. The end result was great because of JD. Make sure you ask for him.

Great buying experience

Purchased my new vehicle from Elwira at Max Madsen Mitsubishi in Downers Grove. She was attentive and listened to exactly what I wanted. She promised me a new vehicle at the right price and thats exactly what I got. She made my buying experience fantastic and I will be coming back for a second vehicle. The staff there was courteous and welcoming! I am thankful to everyone at Max Madsen for making this great experince for me and my family. Thanks!

Nasty attitudes and made my problem so much worse

I wanted to go in this dealership liking them, but they really ended up trying to scam me. I am not a rich girl and my car was unexpectedly totaled so I had virtually no money saved up for another. I went in on a Tuesday late night, and salesman Galeco said he was 90% sure I would be approved the next morning. He asked me to leave my deposit, so I gave $300 in CASH and $500 on a Credit Card. I found out the next afternoon that I couldn't be approved for the car of choice (costing $7,500) because it's miles were too high (above 60k) and so they tried to convince me to buy a different car that was $11K when I came back to pick up my deposit since they were unable to approve me! I had called and told them I was planning to come in and get my deposit back hours in advance, but they still sat around and chewed up 45 minutes of my time until the CC refund. Then they told me I couldn't get the $300 cash back! They were going to have to issue me a check the next day. So now I'll have to end up driving from Chicago to Downers Grove THREE times and still have no car. In the meantime, they have taken my deposit of $800 at 90% sure and been wrong, so I have to wait until the credit card is refunded and the check has been deposited and cleared before I can go out and try to purchase another car at a different dealership. Thanks a lot for Nothing.
Buying Process

I went to the dealership to look at a car they claimed they had. They didn't have it, but there was a similiar car there. The salesman was a [violative content deleted], and he expected me to pay close to sticker for the car. I walked out, and he couldn't understand why.

I went to another Mitsubishi dealership on Grand ave on a misleading ad in the newspaper, when I got there they thought because I was a women, that I didn't no what I was doing. I refused to pay more then the ad price and they didn't have the car. I was referred to Max Madsen Mitsubishi in Downers Grove by a friend who had purchased 3 cars from them in the past. The whole process took less then 1 1/2 hours the sales Manager Anthony made me feel like family. This was by far the best dealership I have ever been to. I am so happy with my Eclipse and I definitely recommend Max Madsen Mitsubishi in Downers Grove to anyone who is looking for a car. I will refer all my friends and family to this dealership! Bait and Switch

If you looking for honesty and ethics, stay away from Max Madsen Mitsubishi. After multiple phone conversations, over a two day period, in which we discussed model and pricing targets, we went in to finalize the deal. After 3 hours of specifics and reiterations of price points, specifically the montly payments, we waited for the finance guy to sign the paperwork. Jim kept us waiting during another one of his smoke breaks only spring it on us that the 60 mo payment at 2.9%, that I had agreed upon with the sales guy, was now the same payment amount but for 72 months. I could not have been more suprised! How morally unresponsible is Max Madsen to play with the emotions of potential customers. My guess is that Max Madsen thought that we 1) would have missed the 72 month commitment and signed the paperwork. or 2) our excitement for a new car would have overtaken logic and we would have signed the paperwork. If your stereotype of car sales and financing folks can be classified as "shady" or deceitful and you dont mind this than Max Madsen in Downer Grove, IL is your place. If you are looking for honesty and ethics, you may want to look elsewhere.

Galant Ralliart

This dealership lies. I had called and setup an appointment to test drive the Galant Ralliart I had talked with them 3 times in one day (1st) to make sure they still had the car ,(2nd) to set up a time,(3rd) was to let them know I was on my way. I get there and sure enough they didn't have the car. I drove 18 miles one way to find this out! How disappointing. I did end up finding one at Grand Mitsubishi and buying it. Grand Mitsubishi worked there butt off for me and it was much appreciated.
