Best Car Buying Experience Ever

An outstanding zero pressure car buying experience. My thanks to Adriana Cerlat and Mark Rahn who did everything I asked and a little bit more (in New Orleans they would call it lagniappe) to make it possible for me to buy the car. I am very happy with my purchase and the "process".

Beware

I am torn with this review of Lexus of Arlington (part of the Rohrman group of dealerships). We had a good experience buying our 2013 LX570 from them in 2016. However, ever since then there have been too many questionable incidents that we have decided to NOT give them any more of our business. The last straw was their October ad to come in to test drive a new Lexus in exchange for a $25 Gift Card. My wife and I came in on Oct 31, 2018, around 8:45 PM for the test drive with Oksana (nice salesperson). In short, we never received our gift card as they had promised (they claimed to have run out, but now we know that to be a lie as well). After almost a dozen phone calls, emails and voice messages, I realize that they do not plan to honor their promise. This is trivial ($25) but it is the principle of the matter. If they are willing to stiff an existing customer over $25, they are probably doing a lot worse somewhere else. So for that, we will not be going back and will tell all our friends and neighbors the same. This will be the first of other posts online to serve as a warning to others. I will be contacting the BBB as well.

Dealer lies and does not inspect used cars!!

Please don’t make the mistake I made by buying a used car from this place!! Despite all the high end niceties such as movie theater, arcades, and fancy scones and Starbucks, this place is sleazier than most. I traveled from out of state to buy a used Honda. After submitting a request for more information online, a customer support person (whom I could barely understand) would call me incessantly and leave the same voicemail every single day for 30 days leading up to my visit, asking me if I was still interested in the vehicle for which I had inquired. Communication via email was poor to non-existent with actual sales people or managers. I presented offers and requested purchase information prior to visiting and they were either followed up on late or not at all. I got the feeling that a used Honda buyer was not exactly their most appreciated customer since I didn't have 50K to drop on a new Lexus. Upon arriving, my salesperson was not very knowledgeable and did not guide me through the purchase process very smoothly. The finance person was a condescending, sarcastic, and confrontational [non-permissible content removed] who was more interested in telling me what I could not do instead of presenting me with real options and solutions. The used car manager presented me with an invoice for 2 new tires that were supposedly mounted on the vehicle I was interested in purchasing and told me the other 2 tires were essentially new. My salesperson disagreed with him and when I confronted the manager alone, he indicated that the salesman was “an idiot”. After purchasing the car with cash because I could not stand to deal with the finance person any longer, I drove the vehicle home 5 hrs away with very little warm air blowing into the cabin on a very cold January day. I immediately brought the vehicle to my trusted local Honda dealer with a request to perform an inspection. The local dealer agreed with my salesperson that the tires (all 4) were essentially worn to approximately 6/32 or less. The battery was also essentially worn out as well. Finally, the local Honda dealer discovered a melted ignition coil and a loose spark plug in cylinder #5 that was making noise and could have been catastrophic if left unchecked. Luckily, it was discovered in time to save the engine as the spark plug had nearly worked its way out of the cylinder head threads. The bill 3 days after purchase? $1293 without replacing the worn tires I was conned into believing were new. BUYER BEWARE if you are considering a used car from this dealership. At best, they obviously do not inspect their vehicles very closely and, at worst, are engaging in some pretty dishonest practices (claiming new tires mounted when they were not!!!). I will be seeking further consumer advocacy action against this dealership. STAY FAR AWAY!!

2016 Lexus RX 350 Sport

Great experience all around from everyone at this dealership, from sales to service. They made buying a car easy, stress-free, Salesperson Mohamemed Ali is the person you need to see, if you want a car from Arlington Lexus. He is reserved, informed, intelligent, and professional .I would also like to say, thanks to Igor Zigic for his help, so buying experience was extremely easy and thanks to Peter D. for showing me my car, getting everything ready and teaching me, all of the new features. I highly recommend this dealership and I will return to to this dealership to purchase another car from them in the future.

What an Unpleasant Experience

I happened into your showroom on Saturday and spoke to Jamaie Brown. He gave me such a HARD sell that he drove me right out the door and into the arms of one of your competitors. I hate buying cars and frankly I would not ever buy a car from someone who absolutely refused to quote me a price for a car that I was prepared to buy two weeks hence. I did not have a similar experience at the other two dealers that I visited and consequently I purchased elsewhere (actually two weeks earlier than I had planned).

A Superb Automobile and a Superb Dealership

After literally many months of researching what our next car would be, we decided upon the Lexus ES350. This car has it all - reliability, style and class, quality, power, handling, latest technology, a luxury badge, etc. After one week of ownership, we could not be happier...we love this car so much! Actually, we are in awe of this automobile! In addition, Arlington Lexus was absolutely wonderful to work with. Alex, Bob, Hugh, Jessie and Terry were professional, fair, and sincerely a pleasure to work with. We look forward to a long-term relationship with Lexus and Arlington Lexus in Palatine!

Satisfied Lexus Owner

We have purchased three Lexus vehicles prior to this fourth purchase. After visiting several different dealers trying to find the exact car we were interested in,my husband and I decided to make one last stop at Arlington Lexus in Palatine. We were greeted by Alex C. He asked us what we were interested in and listened to me explain the things that were important to me. Immediately, he had two possible choices, fitting my criteria brought around for us to look at. He took the time to go over the different options with the two vehicles. After some consideration, we sat down to go over some numbers. By this time it was after hours, Alex never made us feel a sense of urgency to make our decision. After sometime we decided to think about our options. In the couple of days we took to decide, Alex never hounded us. When my husband called him to let him know we were coming back in to finish negotiations and make a deal, Alex gladly came in on his day off to accommodate us. Our positive experience didn't end there, the next day after taking purchase of our beautiful new vehicle, I scraped the side of the car on the garage door frame. I called Alex and explained the mishap. He told me to bring it in. He brought the car directly to the detail guys in back, who kindly buffed it right out in no time at all. They made it look like nothing had happened. It is nice to know that once you sign on the dotted line, you still have a salesperson who is still there to help you! Beyond spending the money on another luxury vehicle, this has been the BEST car buying experience by far. I am sure we will not hesitate to return to Arlington Lexus and Alex C. for our next Lexus purchase.

Great Place to buy a car

My Wife and I purchased a pre-owned car from Arlington Lexus and it was a very nice experience. The car was in great condition and they showed us the repair history and the Carfax and what they had done to recondition the vehicle. Everyone we dealt with including the salesperson, General Manager and finance manager were all very helpful and knowledgeable and professional in every respect. This is one of the best car buying experiences we have ever had and we would highly recommend Arlington Lexus to anyone. What a great place to do business.
