Service at Rivertown Toyota is not what it used to be

An oil change and tire rotation took 5 hrs and 10 minutes, and I had an appointment and arrived in time! I got no updates and the service rep was nonchalant. I've been coming here since 2008 and the service team has been noticeably declining the last two years.

Charges for services not rendered

I dropped for service @ 7:30am to include oil change, filter, tire rotation for 2021 Camry. Mentioned rear right tire had a screw in it. Text received at 10:43am vehicle all green. Began to call to speak to service writer Jose Torres, tried phone, text & speak to another service writer to get him to phone to ask about rear tire. Never would answer me. Went to pick up car, asked specifically if they found the screw as there wasn’t any mention on the documents I received via text or email. He stated they didn’t find anything. Paid for service after being told my extended warranty was cancelled & I would have to speak to the Finance Manager. Went to get in my car, the tire with the screw was still in same spot. Had Jose walk out and look at tire. He went inside and had the car pulled around for rotation. Right rear tire is still showing less tire pressure than the other three tires. I don’t believe the tires were rotated or plug put in tire. Waiting to hear back from Finance & Service Manager at this time!!! I would like a refund of my $112.82. I wasted my entire lunch hour dealing with this very poor and rude service writer who does not know how to provide customer service. He needs to be sent for additional training. I would like to see the video of my car being serviced by Nathan.

Slow and didn’t complete the job

Made an appointment for oil change, tire rotation and balance, and check for leak in a tire. Appointment was at 8:45 and vehicle was not ready until 2 pm. Was told nothing was found in my tire. Next day tire pressure has dropped and found a screw in my tire resulting in the tire needing to be replaced as the screw was close to the sidewall. 1 star is too many.

Bait and switch

First offer was horribly overexagerated with things like tax of $3000 and stupid thing like nitrogen tires for $110. But this inflated price was their starting. I kept saying no and he kept coming off of a price that was not even close to the actual price of the car. Discussed this for over 3 hours because my wife wanted the car. Finally got the numbers near and had me sign. Then brought out the old form for the finance office. THEY EVEN KEPT MY REBATE. $1000 for documentation fee and "that can't be lowered". Next door is $600. Got worked over and I feel taken advantage of with the switch in numbers. I want my wife to have a safe car and being elderly and cancer for the second time, I got worked over and got tired. If I ever purchase another car, it will not be from this dealer. You should be ashamed.

Appointments don’t matter

I bought my car from Rivertown Toyota and they have been the only ones to service my car till today, I will not be back. I had an 11:15 appointment for my car to be serviced. Checked my car in at 11:00. At 2:30 I finally called them because I had not heard from them and online status still just said checked in. They told me an appointment time did not mean that is the time your car gets serviced that’s just what time you check it in. What is the point of having an appointment? I will not be back to the service department and will also not buy anymore cars there with the service department being so awful.

Terrible

My daughter asked for oil change and tire rotation. Following the drop off she was recommended a 4 wheel alignment for a 2 wheel car which I then approved because I rather her drive safe. However after reviewing the rotation report I found it unnecessary. The tire rotation was completed however they did not follow through with the request of an oil change.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! BAD SERVICE TO VETERAN!

I purchased two cars and decided I didn’t want one of the cars within 10-15 hours of purchasing. It was bad for my back and injuries. They refused to change the car back to my original car even after purchasing a second car. Very rude and disrespectful. “Told me I have good credit and money and to trade it in else where”. I haven’t had the car a full 24 hours. Also mentioned that he can do it but he’s not! I have had to get a lawyer because they are holding my car hostage even after I have left the new car on the lot. They do not treat fellow Veterans well!!! Please do not shop here!!!!

Customer service not good

Customer service is terrible. Waited for 15 minutes before someone even ask if I needed help. Once I went back to pick up my car no one explained to me the inspection that was performed. Don't think I'll come back here.

Doesn’t even balance tire pressure

Service for a flat tire on December, no 2 tires had the same pressure (23, 24, 28, 29). Did not have time to bring it back until I had another flat tire (March). Brought it in for service and asked specifically to balance tires where the tech said “Yes sir, you’re good to go.” The tire pressures when I drove off were 25, 27, 34, 36.

Justine was great. She contacted me several times telling me about my truck. She made recommendations that saved me a lot of money. I drive a GMC 2500. I will always take all my vehicles to her. Rivertown Toyota you arw fortunate to have a person with so much knowledge about vehicles and so much more about people. Poor Explanation of Service Required

Went in to have my AC checked as it had started to blow cold. They made a recommendation to recharge the system and replace the blower. I then asked what was their understanding of what caused the system to lose its charge and that when things got shaky. The service guy didn’t seem to underhand mucho about what was required to figure this out and didn’t really know what the next steps were. I asked if they needed to for me to leave the vehicle with them for a few days to try and figure out the leak, he said maybe. I needed to plan to be without the vehicle and needed to understand what they intended to do, and the service guy just didn’t seem to be bothered with answering my questions.
