I love my new SUV!

by Shaunteria on 03/06/2021

I had the privilege of working with 2 individuals both named Micheal! (How ironic) They both was so polite, understanding and was willing to go above and beyond expectations for me to get a new vehicle! Whenever you have doubt go to Mitsubishi and ask for a Mike don’t matter which one you will be in good hands!

At least they lie to you up front, before you waste your time

Usually when people have regrets about a car dealership, it happens after the transaction is over. I can give Capital City Mitsubishi this--they didn't wait to make me mad at them! Not only was their salesperson unprofessional when I arrived (after I was greeted and told him why I was there, he just stared at me for a few seconds, then said "Well, are you going to sit down?"), it took them less than ten minutes to tell me a bald-faced lie in order to reduce the price of the car I had brought to trade/sell. The dealer participates in the Kelley Blue Book Instant Cash Offer program, meaning you give them some details about your car up front, get a cash price, and then bring the car to the dealer to redeem the price with no haggle or hassle--as long as the vehicle matches your description, you get the price. But this dealer didn't get the memo. They "inspected" my car and found it wasn't in the condition I described. Thing is, I hadn't actually described a condition--just checked some boxes, all of which were accurate. When I pressed them for details, they told me they were offering $1800 less than the "guaranteed" price because the tires were worn out. Guess they didn't look at the maintenance records I brought, because if they had, they'd have seen that the tires all were brand new. So--not only were they reneging on the offer and telling me my car wasn't in the condition I (hadn't) described, but they lied to me about the reason for low-balling me. For the record, I took the car a few blocks away to a dealer that provides similar cash offers--where I was paid the same amount I had been offered a few weeks earlier, within about 2% of the guaranteed offer from Capital City Mitsubishi, and had a check in hand in less than an hour (including the 20 minute wait for the dealership to open). This is a brand new dealer, and I hope it's just growing pains. But it doesn't bode well when your first interaction with them is the stereotype of a bad car-buying experience, the dealer lying to your face in order to cheat you out of money. I certainly would not be willing to recommend them to a friend.
