Terrible Dealership

by BobbyR on 09/15/2021

We purchased a used car from Bob Tyler Toyota, and in less than 3 months the check engine light kicked on and the push to start button was stuck in the push down position, so we brought it back to Bob Tyler Toyota where we expected them to fix the vehicle, but what they did was far from fixing any issues. To begin, they claimed to have “fixed” the push to start button, but what they did was damage the vehicle by gouging around the button with some metal object and, prying the button free. Now I have scratched and gouged plastic and metal around the button where they did this. They then told us to take the car to another shop for the check engine light, since they aren’t equipped to work on it, so we brought it to where they directed us to go. That shop quoted us $1300 for sensors to be replaced, so we did the repairs and advised Bob Tyler Toyota’s General Manager. In less than a week, the check engine light kicked on again and we brought it back to Bob Tyler and they directed us back to the same shop where they quoted us $2700 to repair an oil pump, so we had it repaired. In less than a day the check engine light came back on and I’m still having to deal with this issue. This car has been in the shop for over a month, and we’ve had to get a rental to get around. DO NOT buy a car from these guys, because they will take your money and run. Update 9/13/21 Several days ago, Bob Tyler Toyota did reach out to us and wanted to look at the vehicle to troubleshoot the issue. We dropped off the vehicle and several days later, we received a call saying that the car was going into "limp mode" and they will have to look at it further. Unfortunately we had a death in the family due to COVID and my spouse had to use my car to drive out of town since the car Bob Tyler Toyota isn't up to the job. A day later I received a call from the Director of Operations explaining to us that we need to replace the battery before they could proceed due to the fact that new codes are popping up. This was new and we did not have any issues with the battery or any electric issues when we dropped it off. I immediately told them I will pick up the car to take it else where. Fast forward to today, we picked up the car. As soon as we drove it on Hwy 29 it went into limp mode and wouldn't shift out of first gear. The car never did this before. We pulled over to call a tow truck, but when we turned the car off and back on, the engine light was off and it shifted normal. Again, stay clear from these guys. They will sell you a broken car that they can not fix.

Outstanding Dealership

by RobertCampbell on 02/25/2019

The Edmunds website led me to a Tundra Bob Tyler Toyota had in stock. Edmunds flagged it with a "Good Deal" sticker. I inquired about price and we quickly agreed to a price. I set up an appointment and the truck was ready on time!!! I'm a very savvy car buyer and this was the best experience I had shopping for a vehicle in my 58 years. Thanks to both Edmunds and Bob Tyler Toyota! You set me up with the truck I wanted and a very good deal.

Awesome Experience

by JoshHenson on 03/10/2016

I just recently purchased a vehicle from Bob Tyler Toyota. I want to say that it was such an awesome experience to walk into a place where everyone cares about you. I can say that at Bob Tyler you are not just a number but family. I want to thank you Bob and your staff for not just wanting to sell a vehicle but for hiring people that care about customers. This will be the only place I shop from now on. Thank You all

WOW! WASTE OF TIME-Refused business to save "review ratings"

by carntimo on 05/13/2014

To make a long story short (4 hours we were there)...Referred by a Toyota employee to this dealership, we were expecting to be in and out in an hour as we called ahead. Of course when we arrived the "pricing" was not correct and we had to go back and forth... We then worked pricing out to an agreeable rate only for them to raise the price once again after they "appraised" the trade in, which they appraised $1500 less then the Toyota dealership we were at the night before. So again the price kept going up... To wrap it up we agreed to the final price and I quoted "let's sign and get this over with, it's dinner time" to which I received a reply from Mike C on behalf of Bob Tyler (Mike Called Bob to discuss) "I would rather not do business if you're not fully happy and not going to rate all 10's on ratings"... I WAS REFUSED BUSINESS BECAUSE I MAY NOT HAVE GIVEN 10 STAR REVIEWS...LAST I CHECKED MY MONEY IS THE SAME COLOR GREEN AS EVERYONE ELSE. WHERE I COME FROM YOU EARN YOUR 10 STAR REVIEWS BY WORKING WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS NOT TURNING THEM AWAY...

552 unexplained miles on a new car

by aplaygroundman on 03/12/2012

Our car was delivered with 552 miles and no explanation was provided. They said that the car was a "dealership transfer." We were offered a trunk mat and a couple of hats to make up for the miles. We spent over 4 hours to get our car. New cars should have just a few miles, not 552.

Internet sales?

by 1dude1 on 07/04/2008

I sent two emails inquiring about buying a Yaris. I received two automated responses saying I would receive and answer with 4 business hours. Well its been four business days and no answer. So I finally ended up contacting an AFEES car dealer. After 10 emails and two days of time I have a new vehicle on its way to my wife.
