Best car buying experience ever!!

by HeatherK on 12/08/2016

I traded in my old car and purchased a new vehicle - they made the process as seamless as possible. A huge thank you to Chris, John, Aram and Zen for their patience, honesty, help, and courtesy. I've purchased four cars, all throughout different dealerships and hands down the customer service was above and beyond at Nissan at the Avenues. I couldn't be happier with my car and the no pressure buying situation. Thanks again guys!!

Great guys

by Gsxrrobb on 03/09/2015

I purchased a new Nissan at this dealership and it was a great experience. Tam the store manager was honest and sincere. I have bought many cars in the past but I have to admit that this experience has left a positive feeling that I will not soon forget. I will recommend this dealer to anyone looking to make a car purchase!

Employee switched contracts without permission

by Semnole on 01/12/2015

On 11/17/2013 we found a vehicle on their lot and decided to pursue the purchase of it. After we put $2,000 down and started the process of purchasing it with finance, we were allowed to drive it home while the dealership searched for a bank to accept a loan with us. Dealership called back a few days later and said no bank would accept us and we needed to find our own bank or return the vehicle. Since we already gave the car to our son for his Birthday, we had to immediately search for a bank to give us a loan. We found a bank who approved us but with a high interest rate and provided the dealership with a check for the remainder of the cost of the vehicle. At a later date, we found another bank with a lower interest rate and requested information on how to cancel our GAP insurance we originally purchased since we would have it with our new loan. Dealership had no record of GAP insurance on the vehicle; however, it was listed on our original contract and included in the price of the vehicle. Come to find out after further inquiry that the finance employee cancelled our GAP insurance the same day we drove the vehicle off the lot (11/17/13) and purchased a service plan in its place, which included oil changes and other services only provided by their dealership. My son drove the vehicle several months without GAP insurance which we were led to believe we had. Good thing he did not have an accident. We never approved the cancellation of the GAP insurance or purchase of the service plan since we do not live near the dealership and would not drive a long distance just for an oil change. A carbon copy of the service contract provided to me by the dealership does not have my signature on it so I am unsure who signed the original and sent it off. We are still trying to get full reimbursement of the cost of the service plan, which again, we did not purchase. Be aware of shady practices by their finance department.

Buying my car was the easiest experinece ever!

by kbakins on 11/24/2014

My family and I went shopping Saturday morning for a car for me. Yen (salesman) was very easy going but thorough. He showed us a car that had exactly what I had asked for. We took a drive in an Altima that was fully loaded. The car drove great, it had very low mileage and was almost new. By Saturday afternoon I was driving my new (to me) car. My husband and daughter loved it too. We are a large family (husband 6'4") and we all fit with plenty of room.

Beware of Yo-Yo Scam

by cremofjax on 07/25/2014

I leased a 2014 Frontier. Not the one I wanted, more expensive, but they gave me decent payments. I did all the negotiating, signed all the paperwork, went through all the financing, etc...4 weeks later the Finance Manager, Rodney H, called me and asked me to come in. I thought it was concerning my title as I had not turned that over to them yet (finally located it), but I had called them and faxed over the title so they could see I had it, just no time to get it down to them. NO ONE ever returned my calls or would acknowledge my faxes. When I arrived, they kept me waiting over an hour and a half, finally Rodney took me to a back office and told me that the financing they had contracted me for had not gone through and that they required $8000 to keep me in the truck!!! He said they could put me in a car, but he knew my only reason for visiting Nissan was to lease a TRUCK. I have purchased or leased over 9 cars for family members and myself and have NEVER had anything like this happen. I called the GM, Tony R, explained the situation to his secretary, who was clearly upset for me and very kind, but I NEVER heard back from Tony. I can only assume that he is aware of this practice, known as Yo-Yo-ing which is perfectly legal due to a clause they place on the BACK of the contract. I found this out through a finance manager who is a good friend of my family's, but unfortunately lives 1200 miles away. I also have it on good authority from another family friend in the industry that I am not the only customer Coggin Nissan has done this to. The way they handled the whole deal was the worst of all...I felt as though I was surprise attacked, and it was extremely humiliating. At the very least, the GM should have been the one to deliver the 'bad news' and possibly worked to find another truck for me. I've spoken to 4 other finance managers to try and get some clarification on this, each one told me that they do not allow the buyer to leave with a vehicle unless the financing is COMPLETE. They, too, were appalled, but had heard from others about Coggin's practice of this. I only write this to help others avoid time wasted, a ton of stress, embarrassment and complete inconvenience.

Buying a car is stressful and exciting!

by HellionW on 07/04/2014

Buying a car is stressful - that's a fact. It's usually a lot of money and you want to make the best deal you can. I did my research this time - I had a trade amount decided and knew exactly what car I wanted. I initially searched on the internet for all Nissan dealerships in Jax and Nancy at the Avenues called me first. I met with her the next morning and the rest is history. She and her sales manager Brent found the car I wanted which had to be shipped from Jackson, MS! I prefer to obtain my own financing - one of my highlights was getting the purchase order from Brent and that was the exact price I paid - there were no last minute add-ons. I expected them to make money and I needed to feel good about my deal. Could someone else have gotten the car for less? Possibly, even probably. But I feel good about my deal based on my research. And, Nancy and Brent both treated me with respect. At the end of the day, I got the car I wanted and I am excited! I love my Nissan Juke SL! Go see Nancy-she is great!

The process of sales, pricing, fairness & honesty in dealing with clients?

by Emainique on 05/02/2014

I went to this website to find a simple car that would bring me to work from home. I established my budget as $15,000 and my credit union gave me the approval. I read from your website great reviews from this company. So, I emailed and called. I met the person who answered the phone introduced me to another salesman telling him that I have a budget. He showed me cars $17,000.+. I told him over the internet it was 14,200+. Then because there was none he showed me the slightly used car (1 yr or 20,000+ mileages). I was really frustrated! Anyway, I agreed to try one. While in the office he turned me over to a lady salesperson telling me that there was a miscommunication. The lady told me she emailed me with 2 cars. I chose the versa which is 14,200+ which is within my budget. The next day I came back and the paper work started: my car was traded in for $500, my tag will be transferred. And the day previously the lady told me that I will be given a cash back if I let them finance my car. And there will be discounts because its the end of the month. Finally when the sales manager handed the paper it was $17,000+ I asked her where are my discounts she told me it was already deducted. I told the manager no I can't take that and we haggled at the price showing me the start of monthly payment as $297. I told them what is important is the whole sale price and finally after several haggles I settled for 16,200+. I thought it was a done deal, they did not say anything else but told me to wait for the finance lady. There I haggled again, because, she was offering me to purchase an 8 year warranty , an addition of $23 on top of 297 (selling a warranty in a new car?). I said no twice finally she said just to sign bumper to bumper etc. I did signed it with additional cost of $0.40. She gave me all paper works in an envelope, not telling me what was written there. I just ask one question how much was the APR (I should have asked what was written there, If I were given prompt, honest and enough info I should have backed out). The sales guy whom I talked to the phone with, walked me out and gave me the car after giving me an overview of how to's (so I talked to 3 sales agents). I went home, sleep and woke up and read the Retail Installment Sale Contract Simple Finance Charge and here is my buyer's remorse The amount financed /credit provided to me was $18,563.67, excluding the $2,000 Down (I signed for $1,000.00) and the Total sale price is $24,305.00 This is 75 payments. I know I saw brief commercials of them of 0% warranty and $500 cash back this month of April and I emailed the lady about where did it go? The trade in, the transfer of tag, the cash back? The discount? which they told me they gave me? Honestly what I can say at the moment regarding the car- it is really a nice car. I just wanted people to know and learn what I have gone through and be prepared to deal with whatever the situation is.

Good Experience, Great Vehicle

by Tash_O on 01/22/2014

I purchased a used Nissan Altima from Coggin Nissan at the Avenues. The experience was nice as I did not feel pressured at any point in time. There was definitely some back and forth as negotiations were underway and I did get frustrated at one point, but all in all a good experience. My salesperson was Mansell and he was wonderful. Always available and informative as I was looking at different vehicles and making my decision. I actually sent both of my children to him when they were ready to purchase their own vehicles (now that is trust). I took away one star because when I purchased my vehicle there was a small crack in the windshield and a small area of paint that needed touch-up. I was told by my salesperson to bring it in and they would take care of these items. When I brought my vehicle back to the dealership my salesperson was on vacation and I was advised that there was nothing in my paperwork to indicate these items were to be fixed. I was advised to contact my salesperson when he returned. I returned and the touch-up paint was taken care of but my windshield was not. My salesperson asked me to come back again to have the windshield crack repaired. I am not someone who has time to keep going back and forth and I admit that I lack patience with these types of matters so my windshield still has this small crack in it. Again, the rest of my experience was really good so I only deducted one star for this particular matter. This is the second vehicle I have purchased from Coggin Nissan at the Avenues. I would recommend them and will likely purchase from them again.

Best Car Purchase Experience Ever.

by Mtaelman on 01/16/2014

Alex and Leo (Coggin Nissan at the Avenues) went over the top in helping me locate THE exact Nissan Murano that was everything and more. Both Alex and Leo, made this car purchase enjoyable and quite easy. They were determined to answer all of my questions and to ensure I knew everything about the car. I would rate them and the dealership with 500 stars !

Nissan Altima

by chuck179 on 08/31/2013

As in a previous review , things were back and forth, however, at no time did I feel under pressure as was the case with other dealerships. I found the people at Coggin Nissan to be very courteous and professional and an outstanding environment. The follow up by email of the General manager Victor N. and the Sales person Jason S. is a great follow up

Lease of new car

by levenyu on 08/15/2013

Even though my price negotiation process was back and force, as usual (driven by sales manager of course), sales person was nice (i.e. not pushy) to deal with. At the end I got a good deal (mathematically speaking).

Chuck's review

by csteel on 12/18/2011

I did research on line USAA and truecar.com--found the car I wanted and tried the local dealer. After several trips, I went to Coggin Nissan at the avenues in Jacksonville, FL (48 miles from home). Was treated like a valued customer as soon as I walked in the door. They worked with me , honored the certified price quote I had obtained on line and gave me $2k plus more in trade in than the previous dealership. They obviously wanted my business, were professional without any pressure and back and forth with managers. Spent about an hour an a half with the salesman. Returned home and confirmed with my wife that this was the car she wanted. Returned the next day with her. She checked it out and an hour an a half later we left in our new car, very satisfied with the experience. The sales and finance people were all excellent and knew their business and their product. Expect their service department will be excellent also.

Worst place ever

by 1angryrican on 11/11/2010

I bought a vehicle on October 31, 2010. I turn out to be a lemon, I took to warranty 3 times, Service is ultra slow, salesmans worst, they only car abought themselves and do not help out customers. I even provided a test drive with the New Car Director six days later, which told me to pump up the radio higher and I wont hear the sound. It took me about 16 phone calls, 2 days off work, 4 hours every time I needed help, and many employees asking questions. At the end, they cheated me the exchange for a 2010 car. I wanted a new 2011 Nissan Sentra, yet they ignored my petition. The director also said he was working with a used vehicles fair, and could not attend my needs at that moment, cutting me off rapidly. If it wasnt because I needed a car to share in my family for work, I would not buy it and requested a full return. I will never buy a car again in this place. Strongly not recommended. I need to check the VIN number to make sure that vehicle did not have any accidents, prior to the exchange. These people are very shaddy....!!

Stay Away from this dealer

by mrastogi on 09/03/2009

Don't buy new or used car from this dealer. They cheated me by selling the used car which was involved in an accident just 3 days ago. They gave me Auto check report. Since accident occurred under dealer's ownership of the car and it was not old accident so didn't appear on the Auto check report. They repaired the car and hide the accident and then sold it to me. Very Very bad experience after buying the car from this dealer. I will never buy any car in future not even in my lifetime.
