My wife and I decided to replace an aging BMW and, having driven several VWs recently, thought we would look at the propitiously priced Jetta. The only contact I had at Smith VW was Molly, the Internet Sales Manager, whose gracious demeanor and patient counsel were both encouraging and impressive. Too, her knowledge of the product line seemed particularly impressed me. She introduced us to Matt Thompson, who had begun his job only10 days earlier, but who too was patient and knew the product line well, having owned several VWs himself. Again, when I asked to look under the hood at the new (to this country), turbo-charged engine, he was cooperative and able to explain what we were looking at. I bristle when I visit a dealership and find I know more about the product than the salesman. That was not a problem at Smith. We negotiated as best we could for price. The car was already heavily discounted so there wasn't much room to deal. But they were cooperative and gracious in securing financing. The car was ready and properly presented when we arrived for delivery. Matt explained the various features, most of which we had become familiar with on our test drive. But he answered a few questions we had not resolved, having not yet read the manual. (At 400 pages, the manual appears to require singular and devout commitment to master.) I have no complaints to speak of. I normally would not recommend a dealership. Too much can go wrong. But I've already spoken to a friend about the possibility of talking to Matt about trading her car. I look forward to our first service visit; am eager to see how that develops.

First time car buyer...I got taken advantage of

Well, I really learned my lesson. I should have asked dozens of more questions. But they knew this was my first purchase...isn't there something called business ethics out there? Nope. My sales rep even told me I NEEDED new plates. He lied to me. I totally trusted him. After a few weeks went by I really dug into these lies he claimed. From the license plate, then the warranty, he never reviewed car features, never set Bluetooth and showed me navigation, and never reviewed engine type. To top it off, the air conditioner in my brand new 2015 Jetta doesn't work properly. I feel like I was taken advantage of and I really learned the hard way that car salesmen really do fit the stereotype. Very disappointed. I'm a salesperson myself and this really upsets me...a Total lack of integrity.

I can't rate Smith Volkswagen high enough the sales group was super helpful from start to finish. The put my wife in a brand new 2015 Jetta and she loves it. I will without a doubt refer the dealership to all my friends and family without hesitation.

Expensive Mistake to purchase vehicle here

My fiance and i were in the market for a new vehicle and after much internet searching we found a VW Toureg online at Smith that we were interested in. We went that day to look at the vehicle and to see about purchasing it. When we arrived we soon found it had just been sold. So after much debate we went inside with the salesman to see if he could find something comparable. Which he did but would need to be a dealer trade. My fiance being a salesman himself saw no problems and we signed papers and made a deposit for the vehicle to be delivered. A week later the vehicle arrived and at a glance was brand new. So we finished up the paperwork inside to finalize everything and drove away. On our way home we noticed a terrible shake in the steering wheel. So i called the salesman and he said to bring it back so service could take a look. We did and they said the tires just needed to be balanced and rotated. So we went on our way, when driving home again we notice the problem STILL was not fixed! My fiance called the dealer again and was told maybe the tires needed to be replaced all together from sitting on the lot too long. So i took the truck back to the dealer AGAIN. Only for them to tell me a wheel weight had fallen off and needed to be replaced. SO i went on my way AGAIN. Shake in the wheel and floorboard still there. Called again, was told to bring it back for a THIRD visit. I was in illinois so i had another dealer look at it only to tell me the truck now needs an alignment and the tires are now feathered! Due to so many issues and it never being resolved may just seek a lawyer about it being a lemon. I don't recommend this dealer or service team to anyone.

Dealing with Smith Volkswagen was the best experience I have ever had purchasing a vehicle. They were upfront, no hidden agenda, and all about the customer. I would recommend this dealer to anyone interested in buying a car and feeling comfortable doing it. THANK YOU SMITH VOLKSWAGEN!!!!!!

Smith VW is a very dishonest dealership. They sell cars with known issues and then refuse to do anything about it once the issues are noticed. I recently purchased a car from Smith VW, only to discover the rear passenger door wouldn't open a couple days after buying it. After calling the service center about the issue, I was told to come in and they'd fix it, free of charge. Upon arriving, they adamantly refused to fix the issue without charge, and Andy who claimed the issue would be fixed without charge over the phone proceeded to lie to the manager and state he'd never said any such thing, leaving me to deal with the issue myself and fix it as an out of pocket expense. In addition to the extremely poor service after my purchase, the car also has a few other parts that I had to order, and a lot of body issues that any reputable dealership would have dealt with. Smith VW is a [non-permissible content removed] dealer. Don't deal with them, and don't buy from them, or you WILL regret it.
