Trust worthy and respectful Sales staff

I purchased a 2018 GMC terrain at the dealer. I was very satisfied with the entire process. They negotiated in a respectful and transparent manner. They gave me a fair price for my trade. When I picked up the car, they took a great deal of time to explain everything. I would highly recommend.

Superior Professionalism and Exceptional Service

Our 2010 Enclave was disabled on I95 due to a failed waterpump and engine overheating. Not being familiar with the area, the tow service took us to the nearest location of our breakdown which was Wallingford Buick GMC. We arrived around 1:45 on Saturday after the Service Department closed for the day. The entire lot of the dealership was being prepared for an antique car show the next day, and the remaining staff certainly had their hands full. As our car was being taken off the flatbed tow, a service agent (Dane) immediately brought the car into the service bay for protection over the weekend, took a quick look at the car and diagnosed the main problem. Dane phoned his Service Manager (Craig) on his personal time, and they were not able to service the car at the time. Notably, we were stranded and we were looking at some considerable expense in arranging transportation back home. Within minutes of the prior call, Craig called back and made arrangements for a "loaner" which allowed us to continue our journey to visit aging members of my family. On Monday, the pump was replaced under warranty (close to expiration), and the car was available for pick up in record time. I have had many cars over the years, and dealt with many dealerships. I can state, with complete confidence that the staff of Wallingford Buick GMC compete for the top spot of all the dealers I have known - with only one other dealer I have known for over 10 years. Wallingford's staff (Dane and Craig) are exceptional professionals, dedicated to going the extra mile, and helped two complete strangers in the best example I have seen in decades. I look foreward to doing business with them in the future.

Not service oriented

Needs to be more service oriented and attentive to customer. Salesperson and operation does not seem to be accommodating with respect to servicing customer needs in a timely manner. I had to call to call the sales representative to get a progress report on next steps. His promises always left me hanging whereby beyond a certain time in the day I would do a follow call to obtain status. Then there seems to be only one business manager that can do paperwork and our schedules could not match so we are at a stand still to complete paperwork to obtain my new vehicle. It also seems to be no urgency in completing a sale and getting another car off their lot and to a once excited customer. Talking about taking the excitement and wind out of your sails.

No Warranty

I had my sons 2008 GMC truck brought in for warranty with 42,123 miles on it and they refused to fix it.They said the truck was abused because of balded tires and dirt under the truck.They said that a sprag gear was put in the transmission when they never touched the truck it still has the old transmission fluid in it .The dealer red flagged the truck with GM after I had a disagreement with them.I took the truck to another dealer to warranty it but they said that Wallingford Buick GMC had already put a claim against it. One would think that they would let someone take their vehicle to another dealer to be repaired and not [violative content deleted] them with GM. The other dealer said they can't see why the truck wasn't repaired and it should of never gone this far. Since then I've talked to a lot of people who have done business with Wallingford Buick GMC and none of them had anything positive to say either.
