We had a great experience buying a Forester from this dealership. I requested quotes from dealers within a 100 miles radius online. The majority, instead of answering my request, tried to get me on the phone or visit their dealership, gave quotes for trims/packages I was not looking for, or gave quotes that were too high and were obviously meant as a starting point for negotiation. Greg Valuckas from Bertera got back to me quickly and provided the quotes I was asking for. The price he offered was already a good deal and there was no need to negotiate (which I hate). After my spouse & I decided to buy, we visited the dealership, where Derek Chen from the sales team helped us through the purchase process. Most of the documents were prepared before we arrived at the dealership, and it took us about an hour to sign and drive off with our beautiful new car! The whole process left us with a good feeling of getting a good deal and not being pressured or over-sold.

Avoid this dealer like the plague!!! If you do happen to get sucked into the showroom then do NOT deal with Chris Piteo, Rick Nepola or a Salesman named O'Neal. They are your classic sleazy, bait & switch, snake oil salesmen who agreed to two different deals via email only to get you into the showroom to switch the offer up. Please, please, please do not accept handshakes as their word. Actually, avoid altogether!!! P.S. The General Sales Manager (Chris Piteo) did not know anything about the maintenance package or how to appraise a vehicle. O'neal had no knowledge either.

I found the car i wanted and Eli was my salesmen he worked very hard to make sure i was happy with my purchase from beginning to end. He made buying my subaru a great experience. This wasnt my first subaru dealership but it was the only one that made me feel like part of the family. I plan to return in the future!!!!

I LOVE my new. 2017 Subaru Crosstrek. It was great to know that I made the right choice about buying new or used because the price was right because the buying experience made the decision making process seamless. Financing was amazing because I was given several options and I chose what worked best for my financial situation. It was great to buy a car feeling confodent that I was making the right decision withoit feeling pressured. Jose in finance, and Paul "Kappy" as my sales person made car buying a pleasure!!!

Lenny is a very nice, courteous and friendly gentleman and the best salesperson I have ever dealt with in the past 20 years. The whole purchasing process was very smooth and the price was good. Interested in a 2015 WRX residing 2 hours away, I did my due diligence & requested additional pictures of vehicle prior to making trip on April 6th. These were requested after noticing rear bumper did not align correctly with rear quarter panels. I was assured by salesman Keneil that damage was cosmetic, and that bumper would be replaced. I was encouraged to test-drive the vehicle. With this promise in mind, I made the trip. Upon visual inspection of rear, I was told vehicle was a recent trade-in & that the original owner had backed into a post. Still interested, and after a satisfying test-drive, I proceeded to explore purchase. Immediately, I was told Bertera would NOT put new bumper on the car. They just received trade in and were not interested in putting money into it. When I reminded Keniel or “Ken,” we had already negotiated passed this on phone, he apologized and was interested in offer without replacement. Aware I was a DIY kind of guy, he suggested I buy the bumper and install, and that they come pre-painted. Unprepared for financial negotiation with consideration of bumper, I (regretfully) made my best offer. And this price would have been fair if it were not for post-purchase discovery… The first weekend I had the car, I removed the rear bumper to find the support beam had been crushed. Suffice to say, this was not a light tap. For an unbiased opinion, I went to a local Subaru dealership. This dealership informed me that Subaru has the highest safety testing standards, and that the car was unquestionably excluded from said inspection. He outlined visual cues that suggested support beam had been crushed; notably, two dimples protruding from bumper which told him the center of impact zone was considerably pushed in. With this in mind, I reached out to Bertera Motors in hopes they would remediate issue. Upon giving Bertera the opportunity to replace support beam, I was invited back to dealership for replacement of bolt-on support beam. I took another 2 hour drive to dealership. When I could not find Ken, I pulled into the service department and was assisted by Darlene, the service manager. Despite arrangement with Ken, Darlene was unsure what I was looking for them to do. I explained my situation and her team put WRX on lift to confirm damage. Only 5 minutes later, they confirmed damage and informed me they will replace, but did not have part in stock. When I asked why this was not caught originally, Darlene appealed the bumper must had been replaced because there was no evidence of such an impact. When I outlined the direct connection between the bumper dimples and support beam, she insisted it was from a later accident and absolved dealership of negligence. To make the best of matter, I asked if they would replace the bumper (my cost) upon swapping damaged beam. But only making matter worse, the service department wanted to charge over $500 for paint. Paint that, according to salesman, was included in purchase of bumper. A month later, after exhausting back and fourths to confirm receipt of part, I decided to cut my losses and replace support beam on my own. It was clear this dealership had no intent of standing by their product or promises. I was promised this bumper would be replaced- a commitment which encouraged me to make the trip for vehicle. This promise was broken prior to sale. I was informed the bumper was cosmetic damage and that they can be purchased pre-painted. Neither statement is true. Finally, I was assured Bertera would replace support beam. But after much wasted time commuting to and communicating with Bertera, I was forced to cut my losses. Given my frustrating experience, I would not recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a safe automobile. It’s clear they failed to perform a safety inspection on vehicle and do not honor their promises or commitments. Bertera motors- Please DO NOT attempt to defend your dealership. Reviews speak for themselves. Instead of playing the defense, please spare future customers from my experience.

Recently bought a 2016 Subaru Legacy Premium at Bertera Subaru of Hartford. Great car, great price and wonderful and competent Sales personnel. Our salesman, Mr. Travis Senick, was probably the most decent and competent car salesman I have encountered in many years. He knew his product, his stock and was dilligent and focused on what we wanted. I purchased my new 2015 WRX from Bertera Subaru in Hartford earlier this month. I felt I got a great deal and my sales consultant Travis was extremely helpful throughout the process. I could tell he actually cared about getting me a good deal. I went a little out of my way to go to Hartford but this was the only dealership with a large inventory and had several WRXs to choose from. However because of how smooth the process was with this dealership, Travis is now my go to Car dealer and I would recommend them to anyone!

My experience in the past when trying to buy a car has been dismal to say the least. My salesman, Nick Marut changed that around very quickly after walking into Bertera Subaru of Hartford. He took the time to explain all of the details along with working with me to get me a great deal. I was so happy that I ended up taking my car home that very day! Damian Fournier and the entire staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly from the moment we walked in. We live much closer to another Subaru dealer but they were "too busy" to help us, so we took the ride to Hartford and it was well worth it. We got the car we wanted at a very fair price, and their follow up leading to that point was outstanding. I high recommend this dealership, and Damian in particular.

Colby, I just wanted to thank you once again for all the time you spent with Ed & I yesterday. You went above & beyond showing us all the features of my new Forester. I have owned quite a few cars in my 70 years & cannot recall any sales rep. spending as much time explaining & answering my many questions. I look forward to many years of safe, adventurous driving, (as adventurous as any 70 year old can be,) in my new Forester. I am also looking forward to a new relationship with Bertera Subaru. I had the most amazing experience with Bertera Subaru in Hartford. The car I was driving was an absolute mess and I kept putting money into it. I was so stressed and really out of options. I have also had some bumps in the road which affected my credit. The General Manager, John, the sales person, Damian, and the finance staff person, Pam, worked as a team and were able to get me the car of my dreams -- I never thought I could be so fortunate -- a beautiful 2015 Impreza. The car is one thing, but the kindness, professionalism, and genuine desire to help me was so appreciated. I would recommend Bertera to anyone and have been singing their praises to anyone and everyone I talk to. So often, car dealerships get a bad reputation. This is not true here. Every person who worked there had a smile on their face and a friendly word to say. I am a customer for life!

Was negotiating Forester. Sales guy was nice and polite After price was negotiated financial guys called me that they will give me loan with larger interst rate, I took my deposit back, than they called me that car arrived, I came back, give them $5000 down, signed most of the papers, had to pick it up next morning. They called me back next morning that manager pulled the deal out. Left very bitter feeling about dealing there

After shopping around for small SUVs, I took a Forester for test drive. No pressure, very easy to work with. Got a better trade-in price that I hoped for. Found out a vehicle with the options I wanted was probably on a truck arriving soon. I waited a couple of days and got mine fresh off the delivery truck. Driving around only a week--love it already.
