Great staff, Very fair trade in value. Fantastic financing department. We drove out with the car we wanted, no hassle & haggle free. In all my years, truly the best car buying experience I've ever experienced.

Outstanding Sales Experience

by newcarowner11 on 03/21/2015

I just purchased my first VW and was pleasantly surprised by Mitchell VW. I was skeptical and conflicted, having driven Hondas and Acuras for the past 30 years, but I loved the look of the Passat TDI. Salesman, Tim Miller, was extremely knowledgeable about performance, maintenance and was able to talk me through all the pros/cons. He was honest, easy-going, never pushy and once I made the decision to buy, he spent all the time I needed to go through all the features and helped to set everything up for me. I've purchased and leased many times, this was by far the best experience I've ever had!

Buyer Beware

by troub2300 on 08/13/2013

Bought a CPO 2011 Golf. Car was not detailed. Windows were disgusting. Hair everywhere. Cleaned windshield to discover scratches. Obviously why it wasn’t cleaned. The day of delivery the salesman was trying to clean up the windows since the detail shop didn’t do its job. Missing trim on vent. Cut in door panel. I am not sure what constitutes a CPO car but obviously the standards aren’t very high. Discovered the traction control button doesn’t work and a Bent rim. Mitchell took the car for 4 days and replaced the windshield and traction control button. Bent rim was balanced and door panel was made worse. Dealers slogan is Your road to total satisfaction. Yeah not so much.

They had no intention of honoring my Golf R order

by brimlee on 04/22/2012

On January 19, 2011 I placed an order with Mitchell VW for a Golf R, which was to be available at the end of 2011 or in early 2012. I wrote up a proper purchase order for the car and left a check as a deposit. I knew that the car (with specific color and options) would not arrive until sometime in 2012, as they were only supposed to make 5000 of them. The model became available in January '12, and I went to the store to inquire about where my order was and get a copy of my order's commission sheet. This is what VW dealers enter into their computer system to request a specific car, especially for "sold orders". I was told that they had not heard anything and had no allocation. My reply was that I was aware that an order can be placed into the factory "order bank" to generate a Commission Number without a dealer having been given allocation from VW for a particular car. I showed the sales manager a copy of an order sheet on the car ordered by a friend in another state. I was told they didn't get those until a car was built (another lie) and that he would call me as soon as they could order my car. Here's what the order sheet looks like: [HTML removed] In the meantime I placed an order for the car with a dealer in NY over the phone. I was offered about $1500 off, and saved another $249 off Mithchell's "Conveyance Fee" I was emailed my Commission Number and order sheet within a half hour. The real kicker came when I went to retrieve my deposit from Mitchell. I could never get through to the Sales Manager and left a half-dozen messages to have him call me. After waiting three weeks I called the dealer principal, Steven Mitchell, who called the finance guy in Canton and had the finance guy mail me my deposit. Now, here's the kicker... They had voided my check almost immediately -- they never had any intention of ordering my car. Other dealers I spoke with said that they'd probably planned to get a similar car and have it loaded with accessories and a $2500 set of wheels and tell me "it's what they sent you-take it or leave it", hoping I'd believe it would be the only chance I'd get to buy something similar to the car I'd ordered. So of course, they'd make a bigger profit. That sounds about right, as I've been living in their neighborhood for 20 years, and a few years ago figured out that their parts department marked everything up a minimum of 10% over MSRP. If they have the car you want, you could probably get a better price elsewhere, but at least the car is there. I learned the hard way what incredible game-players Mitchell VW can be. BTW, a neighbor saved $3500 by buying their Volvo from Gengras instead of Mitchell.

Great Service

by jkali860 on 02/17/2012

I got a 2012 Jetta SE w/ Convenience and it couldn't have been an easier process. Went to Vermont to get the car I wanted, and all dates were honored as stated. Great customer service which starts with their great sales manager. Real professional dealership!
