HIGHLY Recommend - Great Experience

by DebiSuds22 on 03/15/2016

I HIGHLY recommend coming here if you are interested in buying or leasing a car. The staff has been beyond friendly and helpful. They've done everything they could to help me and made sure that this experience was easy and stress-free. I recommend asking for Bret Bissey and Cody Haase. They've been a pleasure to work with and I know in the future, I'll be going here to lease/buy a car. I leased a 2016 Kia Sportage and am absolutely thrilled with process and my new car.

As a mother of 3 the last thing I want to do is haggle when I am in the market for a new car. I went online and checked out the link on their website for my trade in, I was super excited when I saw I would be offered between 5600 to 7200. BOY OH BOY, they offered me 1800 for my trade and told us on our way out that we were doing ourselves a disservice by not letting them help us into the car we wanted. I AM SORRY I DON'T SEE HOW LOW BALLING ON MY TRADE IS HELPING ME IN ANY WAY! This was after we were pushed aside from the internet sales guy that I was conversing with for a week because he was too busy to help us look at the cars.

Could Care Less/False Advertising

by elmo083179 on 04/11/2014

About two weeks ago I decided my 14 mpg vehicle needed a better home so I went car shopping. The day before I went to the dealership I did some research. I checked in to financing to make sure I qualified, to see what my price range was, and then what the cars I liked were that were in that price range. I also looked for safety features, and convenience features I wanted. I wanted to get the most car I could afford, especially, since due to my poor credit I would be ultimately paying at least twice what the car was worth. I even got pre-approved for financing so I knew what my budget was and was looking at cars that were under that by at least $5000. I called Grand Kia and spoke with Michael C. and he seemed nice enough. He suggested I fill out an online credit app and we go from there. (I was honest with him about my credit situation as I believe honesty is the best policy.) He called me back and said that went through just fine and we set up a meeting time for Saturday morning. At this point I had narrowed down my choices to a few different models, checked their website to make sure they had them on the lot and made my list of must haves, and most importantly set two numbers for my budget, my top number I was going to tell them I willing to go for my monthly payments, and the real number I could comfortably go to. When I arrived for my appointment my first impression was not good. He seemed like he was in a bad mood and it just went downhill. Normally when people are buying a car they pick the car and then get the financing done. That's how I've always done it and I end up with a car payment that's $50-$100 higher than what I wanted to pay and I go for it because at that point I'm emotionally invested in the car and I wanted to avoid that completely this time. So I explained this to Michael and he made me fill out another form that had almost the exact same information and then he took it into an office. While they were processing it he asked me what I was looking for and I told him my short list of must haves and the cars I was thinking about. He told me I couldn't get a new Kia and I would be looking at a used car. I thought, ok, I can live with that. He then went back into the office and came out and said they had one car that I qualified for. It was a Mitsubishi Lancer (which he kept pronouncing Lansing.) I asked about the cost, technical specs, etc, and he had to go back twice to get the basic information on the car. It didn't meet a single one of my criteria, but I figured I'd test drive it anyways. It was horrible. I also looked up the fair market value on Kelly Blue Book and the dealership was asking over $3000 more than it showed on KBB. When I mentioned this to Michael he didn't care. After we got back from the merciful short test drive, I asked him to make sure there were no other vehicles available and he said no. I said fine and walked out the door (after wasting an hour on a beautiful Saturday) and went a block down the street to another dealer and walked out of that dealership with a much better car, lower interest rate than I could have dreamed of, and so much happier in only an hour and half. This leads me to their deceptive advertising. Almost everyday on the radio I hear them advertising "bring home $350 a week and your credit's approved no matter what, and we will give you $5000 for your trade no matter what you owe, or what it is worth" (It does have the disclaimer that credit affects terms and interest I think, but if you bring home $350 a week you can get approved for a car loan, you may be paying a 22% interest rate for 6 years.) Well I bring home more than $350 a week and have no monthly bills and was fully willing to accept a 22% interest loan (I know that it is my fault my credit is so horrible.) In addition I had an 1984 Mercedes that I wanted to trade and they wouldn't accept it at all, thereby going totally against their claim that they accept any trade no matter what you owe or what condition it is in. (Btw it was actually in good condition with only 160,000 miles on it, downside was it only got 14 mpg and I commute about 50 miles a day to work.) The topper came today when I received an email from Michael C. with "internet specials" they have going on. I would never go there again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. I am actually in the midst of trying to find a copy of their radio commercial so that I can file a complaint with the Motor Vehicle Department Board for false advertising. I have never been treated so badly at a car dealership as I was here. Honestly after this I will probably never buy a Kia either, or shop at a Dealin Doug dealership.

Horrible

by nothappy37 on 03/06/2013

I don't even know where to start! I was in contact with Eric and had sent several emails about my situation and what I was looking for, several emails went in answered I got a phone message saying that he talked to his used car manager and they should be able to give me all I owe on my jeep for a different car I was looking at, I sent another email just making sure because I live an hour away he said yes and to come on up, I got there and he was not there I waited for close to 45 min before he showed up, he worked the numbers knowing what I had to put down and said they would need 5 grand down, um that's not what we talked about and mean while the salesmen in the next office is talking to his girl friend and calling her the c work and saying do I need to come home and beat you to put you in your place, it was horrible I waisted time driving all the way up there for nothing, stay away they lie and tell you whatever to get you in the door, there 5000 for your car no matter what you owe is bs, stay clear and go elsewhere.

Nightmare for 5 months

by bren13 on 09/12/2012

The time spent in the dealership was rough. They would not listen to what we really wanted, but what dealer does, they lost the copies they made of our license, then they ran the wrong amount for our down, more then we wanted of course. But the worst was 3 months after we bought the car....I got a call one day to check the VIN and it was the wrong car!! The fun began.... Their communication was terrible, my husband had to call over and over to get anyone to call back, to get any answers has so hard. We e-mailed, called, left messages, could not hardly get any help. It took 5 months and lots of headaches till we finally got everything done. Never got much of an apology and now they will not return calls at all. Customer service here is terrible!!! We never got anything for our time, headaches, inconvenience, time off work, money for plates, gas, driving to and from getting temps and plates, nothing but a couple hundred bucks, for 5 months of trouble. Just an overall terrible experience!!! Will never go there agian and would never recommend going there.

Great Car Buying Experience

Would never go any place else!!!

by brossignol on 06/02/2011

After looking at several mid-sized sports sedans, my wife and I stopped at Grand Kia to look at the Kia Optima. Of course we were very impressed by the car itself, but more impressive was Tree King. She was extremely knowledgeable, and better yet very enthusiastic about the brand in general. At no point did we feel any pressure and we actually left without initially purchasing because we were looking for an SX model they did not currently have on the lot. Tree did everything she could to find us a car and finally offered us a great deal on one she knew was coming in on the next truck. I hope to do business with Tree again and will definitely be referring her to friends and family that are looking for vehicles in the future.

Loved It!!!

by janetmack on 05/28/2011

The friendliness at Grand Kia was impressive from the moment I stepped out of my car. I was greeted by Craig Green, who was not pushy or rude, like I had dealt with in the past at other dealerships. He took his time to explain the small details of each vehicle I looked and ensured that all my questions were answered! Thank you Craig for making this the best car buying experiences I ever had! I love my new Sorento!!!!

Awsome Experience

by charlieger on 05/23/2011

My husband and I went in knowing that we wanted to buy a new car and what kind, so finding what we wanted wasn't very hard. We bought our last car here at Grand Kia, and both experiences were very plesant experiences. I hate pushy sales people, and Craig Green was anything but that. He took the time to show us severall different options in the vechicle that we wanted, took us out for a test drive, and explained every detail in all the paperwork that we had to sign. We came back to Grand Kia because our last experience was so good, and also because we hadn't had this good of an experience with a service department since I leased a cadillac from rickenbaugh a few years ago. To be compared to that dealership in a good way tells you something about how well they treat you here, not only when selling you a car, but even after the sell. I would highly recommend Grand Kia to anyone.

Grand Kia and Craig Green are the bomb

by nrbqlou on 05/18/2011

Bought a 2011 Optima SX. Throughout the process, Craig helped me buy the car, as opposed to selling me the car - a subtle but important difference. Craig answered all my questions, was low-key and didn't pressure me at any time. I would definitely recommend Grand Kia and would recommend Craig Green even more!

Grand Kia Delivered

by cas2011 on 05/16/2011

After a poor experience with a Boulder Kia dealership I decided to see if things would be different at Grand Kia. After meeting with Craig Green not only did I get the price on the Sportage that I wanted, but I got more features then I ever expected (hello Navigation system!). Craig listened to what I had to say and in no time we found what I was looking for, within my budget, and a great price on my trade. No hours of back and forth dickering over a few dollars. I highly recommend both Grand Kia and Craig Green. It was a no hassle buying experience and I love my new Sportage!!!

Lied to by Salesman

by demoguy on 05/15/2011

I went into dealership to obtain Costco pricing for a KIA Soul. Salespeople were busy and while waiting looked a Forte 5 door. Salesman Greg took me for test drive. I liked the car but I was very tired and suffering from low blood sugar. Greg showed me Costco price (their invoice) and said he/they needed a completed credit app to give me out the door price. Why do dealers do this? A price is a price. I stated I was only there to obtain the Costco price so I could make an informative decision. But this Dealer, Grand Auto practices the age old deception of showing you a car price and payment but does not show interest rate. I have very good credit and should have qualified for the 1.9% KIA financing but the payment appeared to be high for the amount financed. Typical for some dealers is to get you to agree on a payment amount then back into the hidden numbers including interest rate. A shoddy practice at best. When I questioned the payment and interest rate they finally said after all I did qualify for the 1.9% interest. The payment dropped by about $40.00 month. Never accept a car deal without seeing the interest rate and make sure the interest rate you qualify for is not "bumped". Bumping interest rate will greatly increase your payment. This is the same thing bankers did to folks who bought houses before it was outlawed. The other thing I strongly object to is the $499.50 dealer add on for "additional profit" and paperwork. When you shop at Target is their a sign at the cash register stating they will tack on an additional amount for additional profit? No, they do not. As the whole negotiation thing continues I continue to tell salesperson I am extremely tired, but I finally agree on a price. I sign a contract and give a down payment of $1,500.00. I did not take delivery of car. The next day Greg calls and asks when I can pickup car. I tell him I rushed into to the deal and am not sure about taking delivery. I did ask about an upgraded Forte but Grand Auto did not have the car. Friday afternoon I went to dealership and apologized and said I did not want to take delivery. Greg called the other salesperson (the person who responded to Costco inquiry named "Samer") Samir said if I took delivery and drove car for a month and did not like it he would take car back without the $75.00/day penalty. He also asked me to think about the deal over the weekend and if on Monday I did not want the car he would cancel the deal no questions asked and would not give me a hard time. Samer also offered to make my payment for six weeks or reduce price. When I returned on Monday Samer refused to cancel the contract and said a deal is a deal. He claimed to not know that I had actually signed a contract. I have continued to refuse to accept delivery. I discussed issue with KIA Motors and KIA/Hyundai finance. KIA finance has not funded the car as it is not insured. The salespeople forgot to get my insurance info. My next item is to discuss with general manager or owner. I take responsibility for signing contract but did think the dealer would cancel deal as the car never left the dealer lot. I made the mistake of shopping for a car when tired and suffering from low blood sugar. My bad and I will not make this mistake again. I do not know how this will turn out but feel Grand Auto was dishonest in its sales practices. I will report back when this is resolved. Thank you for reading my review.

by gdecino1 on 05/14/2011

We went cars shopping. Hit alot of the lots on 104th. Kia was our third stop Criag Green came out to say Hi ask if we needed help. Told him what we were looking for and why. We drove the Forte it was nice. Then drove the Optima. Well that was it the car we were going to take home IF we got the deal we wanted. We were there about two hours and drove home with a new Optima. We didn't plan on gettting one that night but the deal was to hard to pass up. Thanks Craig Green

Great Place to get a new car!

by mgrannis on 05/11/2011

Just stopped in to look at the new Kia Sportage and met Craig Green in the lot. He was not a high pressure salesman, answered all my questions and took me and my husband on a test drive. I fell instantly in love with the Sportage. We went in to start the process and found Craig to be pleasant, knowledgable and quick in getting the purchase finalized. The Sales Manager made it a point to stop in and say thanks as well as the finance manager being extremely pleasant and informative. Great experience - I have purchased many other vehicles from other dealerships and can honestly say this was the most enjoyable and quick purchase ever - getting exactly what I wanted for the price I wanted. Thanks Craig!

Good Deal

by jdogn on 04/17/2011

Craig Green was amazing. We went into the Dealership looking for a Kia Soul + and we found everything we where looking for and more. After we had shopped a few other dealerships we found Craig to be the only one willing to work with us vs every other Kia dealership out there. We got the trade in we wanted and the price we where looking for. Simply amazing deal. If you are looking for a new car look no further then Grand Kia and ask for Craig Green.

SO far So good, I will update in 24-72 hours.

by denver_ri on 06/13/2010

Well we purchased a 2011serento KIA. As stated we "were" approved for financing and everything went smoothly with sales and financing so far. We did give one down payment. Tomorrow I will inquire and make sure they have the financing with what we agreed or we go back to the bargaining table. I have a trade in which I did not give to them yet. Now they let us take it home and said everything was "good". Our sales rep was very good and not much talking about making deals we could not afford. They made a final offer to keep us in the model we wanted with just one less package. Which heated seats and a 3rd row is not a deal breaker for me. We still got the AWD that we wanted. Only concern as anyone would be is that the financing goes through well, because of the 75 dollar a day clause. Now I have it two days come Monday and I want a answer and a loan agreement and bank before I change my license, redo title on my trade in and give them the last of my deposit. They were very honest and up front and we actually went over almost 4 hours of financing options do come up with the best interest (I am also a first time Car buyer) and they were thorough. So I feel we should reach the agreement we signed on but also I understand the economy and we may have to work with it more as lenders are scared.

Feeling your pain

by it7645 on 03/01/2010

We also went into Kia with high hopes. After making us promises and asking us to fulfill other financial promises they turned around and said that they couldn't live up to their end of the bargain. I feel like I've been conned with the old "Bait and Switch" technique, where they basically told us that we could have the car we wanted if we came up with more money, which we already told them was impossible, so they offered to put us into something that was much smaller for the same price. We are so upset right now because we feel that they are trying to force us to make a financial decision that we know that we will have a difficult time to fullfill, and seeing that we are a couple trying to rebuild our credit we feel that this company is really trying to take advantage of us! This is a pity, because with the economy the way it is, the last thing that a company wants is to be labled untrustworthy, and I am saying that they are, UNTRUSTWORTHY! So BUYER BEWARE AT GRAND KIA ON 104TH AVE, THEY ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM!

Shady

by patch81 on 11/03/2009

So far, i have 3700 down, a trade in down and a vehicle not financed. It has been almost a week since we first went into Grand to purchase a vehicle. I will not say anything else to bad here, if i am successfull with going in today and trying to get my check back and my trade in. What scares me the most is that I signed a paper stating that i will pay 75 dollars per day & .75 cents per mile. When questioned to the finance manager, He stated that they usually dont make you pay this fee if you cant get financed. We will see what they do, because i am feeling that since they treated me with all these promises that they will not honor a verbal exchange. So more later!!
