Dealership Remorse/Regret

by nver2_l8 on 07/08/2015

I have dealership remorse. I regret going to Valley Hi Nissan located in Victorville California. The sales staff come across as nice and wanting to help you, but be warned they work on commission. On July 4, 2015 I went to Valley Hi Nissan to look at the new Nissan Sentra's I had seen them on line. saw one I liked tested drove it and decided to see if I could get it. I wasn't sure if I wanted to trade my 2008 Nissan Sentra with 43000 miles in. I was offered $5000, so I agreed at first, then they showed me a paper that had my trade in -1500 for cost to prepare the vehicle to be resold. I told the sales manager I didn't want to trade my car in and the sales manager told me that "I had to in order to secure the loan for the new car". Before I was sent up stairs to the financial department I was shown on paper the car price and my trade price in minus $1500 so I got $3500 for trade in, and listed in smaller print was the gap insurance, century service, and karr alarm. The sales manager lead me to assume these items were included in the sale price of the car seeing as that price was in large print and he referred back to it, to reassure me of the price I was paying, so I went up stairs to sign the papers and with out me doing a final read they were placed in a envelope and handed to me. It wasn't till I got home that I saw the extra charges, so on July 5 I returned to Valley Hi Nissan and spoke to the sale manager that had helped me the day before, and I expressed that I didn't want these extras that he had deliberately mislead me to assume those items listed were included in the 19 plus thousand dollar price of the car he replied " you know what they say about people who assume something". and he wasn't changing anything I was concerned with financing not getting it and not having a car. He more than assured me that they would find me financing (how could he assure that I wondered and found out later how he was able to assure it). On July 7 2015 I returned asking to speak with the general manager, as I had received an email that I was declined financing and I wanted to return the car and make sure I got mine back, but he was unavailable. I was sent up to the financing department to go over all the papers and found that my income was written in as $1000 more a month than I make. and I know I did not write that nor do I believe that I initial it, but because I have sloppy penman ship, and there is no way that a sales person or sales manager would falsify income to assure a sale? I had to have written it. What was used as proof of income? When you finance something you are required to show proof of income. Well not at Valley Hi Nissan as I have found out because I got approved for a loan that I will struggle to make each month, and I got approved with out them asking me for proof of income. I even offered to bring them proof and was told not now, thinking at some time they would request it, they never did and now I know why. Had proof of income been shown there is no way that I could got financed for the amount I did. This would have cost the sales man his commission on the sell of the new car to me and Valley Hi Nissan wouldn't be able to triple the $3500 they gave me for trade in. So the bottom line is they agreed to remove most of the optional extra charges that by contract are removable, but I guess the sales manager didn't know that when I went back the next day upset about the extra charges. The amounts will be applied to the loan reducing my loan to under 19,000, but it won't reduce my monthly payment only that now the loan will be paid off faster, and my car that was taken in, well they refused to return it. they know they got over on me by charging me $1500, so they can prep my car to be resold by them for 3 times the amount received as trade in. I guess this is one of those lessons learned.

2013 Altima 3.5SL

by erobi73596 on 02/09/2013

Was dealing for a 2013 3.5SL Altima. We could not reach an agreement on price and payment. Then the sales man drives up in a fully loaded 2013 3.5SL with navigation system. He said I could have this one at what i was asking. THere was one catch. It had 3000 miles on it. It had never been sold before, it was driven as a dealer car. I checked the car and could not have been happier. I love the car. The ride is smooth, and there plenty of power with the V6 engine. I have not had any problems with the car yet. I am a happy camper. The sales staff worked with me until the deal we right. Took some holding out but i got what I wanted. Just dont cave in early.

wouldn't reccomend

by rr2011 on 01/29/2013

Horrible sales department rude inconsiderate sleazy salesmen who couldn't keep their eyes off of my wife's breast. tried to sell me a car that i later found at another dealer for $10,000 less and the car from the other dealer was newer, fully loaded, and had half the mileage the other car at valley high Nissan had. oh and to top it off they finance department has no respect for your credit score when you ask them not to run it with multiple banks you receive a stack of credit application results from many banks!!! not to mention the used cars sold there are high mileage junk that usually have no warranty so i am glad i looked elsewhere and wouldn't recommend this dealer to anyone.
