Do NOT buy from this dealership!!!!

by RebeccaW on 05/02/2018

I purchased a 2008 Land Rover from Diego and Zia in July 2017. The trouble started as soon as the vehicle arrived. The dealership could not get me a clear title until October. I had to call every week or two and hassle the lien holder bank just to get updates. In addition, the leather in the back seat was sliced, the tow package that Diego claimed was on the car only had the hitch not the electrical harness, and the steering column does not always work (I was reimbursed 200.00 for a $1000.00 fix). The CD player did not work at all, to which after demanding a replacement, did I receive a used broken CD player. I was finally reimbursed for the used CD unit at the cost of a used one (250.00) but not compensated for the installation for the broken one they sent me or the new one that I now had to purchase and install. The backup camera is fuzzy and only works intermittently. To top it all off, one of the seat belt receptacles was broken and I had to demand a replacement based on the safety hazard. Zia sent me a replacement seat belt receptacle that was also BROKEN!!! The condition represented by the Dealership, Diego and the manager Zia. Eastbay Motorcars is a sham!!! Diego was rude at one point saying that "next time I should not by from out of state". And Zia seemed to be respectable until I had questions, wanted my title or wanted working replacement parts. Zia offered to refund me my purchase price if I wanted to pay the $1000.00+ to ship it back to him. My thought… “This guy is arguing about replacing a $50.00 seatbelt receptacle and he want me to trust that he will refund my $16,000.00??? NO WAY!” So not only did I have to wait over 3 months to get my title, hassle to get broken replacement parts, I will also have to drop an additional $3000.00 just to get the Rover up to the condition that it was advertised. All the while, Eastbay Motorcars management hides behind the suggestion that I should have paid extra for a pre-shipping inspection. Like I should pay for an inspection to tell me the CD player doesn't work at all; that there is a knife slice in the seat; that it actually does not have a tow package; or that the seat belt doesn't work? Is everyone at this dealership deaf and blind as well as dishonest?
