onI went in on Friday September 22 to get my 70,000 mile check up First time ever using this location everything went fine at that point on my home home on the 101 from that location I started seeing a little smoke coming from my car and a loud noise. I immediately pulled off on the next exit and called the dealership they were kind enough to send out a Technician which I forgot his name and the Service Manager (Joe) was heading that way to where I was located they both were able to detect what the issue was and kindly recommended a place to get it repaired closer to where I lived .

Salesman nice, then he vanished and some 1980s "closer" appeared
by 11/04/2017
onI found a car I liked at Toyota San Luis Obispo. They wanted 18,000 for it. I thought this was high for a 2015 Scion xB. I liked my sales person,Jeff. I had told him that I needed to bring my car seat for my grandbaby out the next day to test drive again and make sure the seat fit. So, I wouldn't be buying the car that day. I decided to run numbers with them and see if we could negotiate the price. My sales person vanished and this closer person appears. I had 15,000 cash, but they didn't budge. I was already pre-approved through my credit union for financing if I chose to do payments instead of cash. They didn't have anything lower to offer. He was so unprofessional. He had scratched out some high numbers with Sharpe on a piece of paper and tried to get me to sign it. What?! I left, problem was...I liked the car. I cruised the internet and found a better scion xB 2015, lower miles, better color, less dings, cleaner interior for 15,500 at a Toyota dealership a few towns over. I called the salesman, Jeff. I asked if they were affiliated with that other Toyota. He said no. I thanked him for his time and said I would not be in for the 18,000 dollar car. A few minutes later Mr. Sharpe called and had looked up the car at the other dealership. He would match the price of 15,500. Seriously, price match, he should have made a lower offer. He kept telling me how much money he would be loosing with this deal. Can you say 1980 sales tactics? I told him, no thank you. The next day went to Toyota Santa Maria and bought the Scion I wanted for a fair price.

Lousy

onCame in with less than fantastic credit, worked with Jeff. Completely wasted our time, unprofessional handling of the loan (we were refused, had no idea, had to chase him to find out why, submitted for a different car than what we wanted) and left completely disappointed. Next day on a referral, went to Toyota of Santa Maria and worked with Jonathan--drove off the lot with a dependable used Prius with low mileage and exactly what I wanted. Thrilled with the service we received in Santa Maria, and will never send another person to SLO! Thank you Jonathan!

ABOVE and BEYOND
by 10/26/2016
onHarry Bennett is the name... Toyota of San Luis Obispo is the place... I have bad credit and kept getting denied for a car loan, until I met Harry. He went above and beyond to make sure that I drove away in the car of my dreams. Whatever the problem may be Harry will work his magic and make sure you leave in a new or used vehicle. Hats off to Harry Bennett from Toyota of San Luis. Truly a great salesman all the way around.

Unworthy of consideration
by 10/24/2016
onThe worst new car purchase I have experienced (among several such purchases). The procedure was the usual business of the sales person having to leave the room repeatedly to check with management . . . including a ridiculous trade-in value dispute. Having survived that, it was after the purchase that the real problems began. Getting the car preped for delivery was replete with misinformation and miscommunication within the dealership. There is no hint of concern regarding honesty or an organized, sincere effort to serve the car buyer. Unfortunately, there is no nearby, Toyota dealership alternative.

Terrible sales service- shop elsewhere!

onCouldn't get price on vehicle advertised from 2 different sales people. Inquired about advertised vehicle via internet and on phone. Salesmen Ben and Patrick wouldn't disclose "Sale" price unless I came down in person. Waste of effort contacting them.

poor service

onWe just spent over 2 hours trying to work out a deal and then we had to leave to get our daughter from school and the sales manager Greg told us he would not call us or email a price. If we wanted him to continue to help us we had to stay. Also we knew specifically what we wanted and they said it wouldn't be a problem to get one in. Then Paige came back to try and sell us on the one they had in stock and said they could work on the price. when he came back with a number they had ran it for the sticker price. I feel they really just wasted my time.

New-Used Car Warning
by 07/15/2014
onI Purchased a 2013 New-Used Toyota Yaris with 29,999 miles on it about a week ago. After the contract and all agreements were signed, the salesman said here is the key. I asked where is the other key, he said there is only one and said I could get a spare. He guided me to the parts Section and said this gentleman will take care of you. Total cost of an electronic key is $110 without the remote door lock. As I was thinking or distracted with all involved with buying a new-used car, I took possession of the car (point of no return) before I could realized the issue. I expected 2 keys whether new or used (anyone everyone would!!!). An additional key with remote control for my spouse would cost $489 (Not including tax). I came back and the salesman said he didn't know there was only one key (This is either negligent or a lie, I'll even go fraud by failure to disclose. He insinuated that I was making a big deal over a key (a $489 replacement). To cancel the contract would involve a $500 restocking fee. Either way I'm at a lost of $450-500. I called the manager to see if he can reimburse the cheaper key, his answer to me: my attorney can deal with their attorneys. IF YOU LIKE TOYOTA'S, GO TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP

onAsk for Sean...we didn't buy a car from him (they didn't have the "car of my (wife's) dreams," but of all the car slespeople we visited (believe me, a lot), we both wish we'd been able to work with Sean. Richard [contact info removed]
