Great car buying experience

Great experience from start to finish at this dealership. Prices were straightforward with no surprises. Our sales rep, Pablo answered all questions and was very personable and knowledgeable. We are a second time Subaru owner from this dealership and would definitely recommend the brand and this location to others.

Kearny Mesa Subaru are great. They are accommodating at the dealership with a relaxing room with refreshments. The staff is thorough and courteous. The service is done properly and prompt.

Kearny Mesa Suburu sales staff is terrific, Brandon in particular. Low pressure to buy, knowledgeable, patient, low key. The finance manager, Jay, was great to work with as well. I highly recommend this dealership for their professionalism, expertise, and kindness.

Friendly, Transparent and Accommodating Dealership

The staff at Kearny Mesa Subaru were very friendly. At no time did I feel they were forcing themselves. The sales representative was very transparent in everything involving my purchase as well as explained all options in details. Most important, he was very accommodating in what I want in my vehicle. This made it very clear to me that I was purchasing the vehicle I wanted from the dealer for sure.

Puchase of 2023 Subaru Forester Touring model

The sales representative was very thorough in explaining the differences between models and demonstrating features. He also was very upfront about the pricing of the vehicle and what the expected wait times would be. After purchase, the dealership set up a time to go over all the features and made sure that I understood how they worked. I also received a $25 gas debit card and a emergency road side kit.

Come on in..... Oh, its on back order

Purchased Car, was "given" some back of seat protectors as part of the sale of the car. Sametime that I purchased a exterior and interior sealant package. Brought the car in, suddenly they didn't know about it. scheduled another appointment and brought the car in to be told the parts are on permanent back order. Just an unfortunate circumstance and therefor 2 stars. Oh and in general there was much confustion with in the department.

Fog light fix and Trailer Hitch Install

Excellent experience. The service rep I worked with was very communicative and I never felt like I was left in the dark. That is very rare these day's. The work done on the car was completed in the time period I was given and everything was done to a professional standard, from start to finish.

Disappointing Experience

Alexis in sales is the only person at this dealership who has ever reached out to me in regards to any concerns... I ordered a 2022 BRZ and left a deposit for it. The dealerships contractor hacked into my factory wiring harness to install it and just did a terrible job. Then they tried to upsell it to me after I had already brought a check for the total amount of the vehicle. It wasn't even on the lot for 1 day after the truck dropped it off before this happened. No one ever contacted me or cared to give me an option. I really felt like once they got my money they just didn't care beyond that because I expressed my concerns when I found it but since I already paid Alexis in sales is the only one who returned my messages. They just left it for her to figure out which isn't fair to me the customer and isn't appropriate for their sales agent to even be dealing with. I have a feeling after I leave my reviews online my phone will blow up with "We are so concerned! What can we do!?" From the same people who dismissed me in the first place... 🙄

Great warranty coverage

Had a cosmetic issue with the dash that was handled "hassle free". Did not have to fight for replacement; they were friendly helpful, and understanding. Instead of replacing the affected piece, much yo my surprise they replaced the entire assembly!

Much Better

I left the dealership on Wed, quite upset. There were a lot of cars waiting for service. Returned at 7:10 Thursday morning and had excellent service. There were 3 or 4 cars ahead of me. I was met by a service manager immediately. My routine service was completed in less than an hour.

Waited in line

Had an appointment for 10:00. Arrived at 9:35 and found 7 cars ahead of me. Waited 10 minutes and only one car moved. Meanwhile the line behind me double the number of cars waiting. Went inside and was told, "We're slammed." Rescheduled for 7:30 tomorrow. We'll see.

the worst service imaginable

Service here has dropped below one star...which is the lowest they let me rate them. Absolutely bonkers, they promise the moon, deliver nothing and seem to be overworked and mentally disoriented. I wouldn't send an enemy here.

No enough service advisors

In the past, I always thought highly of Kearny Mesa Subaru Service and the advisor who helped me most often was awesome. However, after a recent service and still experiencing a problem, it has taken me multiple attempts over two days and long hold times to get through to service on the phone...and to get a call back. I've spoken to different service advisors in the last month, and every time I'm told, "We're really busy." Really? You're too busy to call back a service customer because your other customers are more important? I'm going to be in the market for a new car in 2016 and right now I'm not inclined to stay with Subaru if I can't ever get through to service.

Terrible customer service

Was awoken by a call from their unprofessional service rep, Tim Pitts, prior to 7am (unprofessional to call so early). The message was curt/rude and informed me that the appointment that I had made over a week ago wouldn't work, with no explanation, and said I would have to call and reschedule. I then spent over a half hour on the phone listening to endless ringing at the service department desk, being transferred around from the front desk to the service department, calling back to get the front desk to take a message, and then finally on hold at the service department to get ahold of the unprofessional mechanic, Tim Pitts, who had called me. Related, but not the major complaint here - I had, no exaggeration, received 7 or so reminder emails and calls about this service, asking me if I needed to reschedule, asking me to confirm my appointment, etc. I thought the number of times I had been asked to verify was absurd frankly, but it also made me assume that they had already looked at my service request, looked at their schedule, and thought for a second during their week to ponder if, perhaps, they might have a scheduling issue on their end. If they are going to call and email me six or seven times prior, perhaps they should check once themselves prior to the day of service at 0630. I'm pretty sure its the golden rule of appointments that you cancel at least 24 hours in advance unless it's an emergency...but hey maybe that's just me. The rude service rep, Mr. Pitts, then tells me maybe, maybe he'll be able to change a headlight today, but no way could he look at tires or brakes. Now I'm no professional, but I've had the people at a couple other Subaru dealerships do a multi point inspection on my vehicle as a bonus service for free in addition to the main service I am paying for (another complaint I have about this place). It hardly took any time at all and they cane back with evaluations of how my brakes and tires were doing and suggestions for when to get them check again, not pushing any service on me (great service, unlike here). Tim keeps telling me no way could he check the brakes for wear for a possible brake job (do you want my business or do you want to go home early on a Friday? What would your boss say if he knew?) or look at the tires. So I patiently informed Mr. Pitts that I'm from out of town 3 plus hours away and I really need the headlights done at least, it's a safety concern. He says maybe he could do that, then asks me a question which is already answered in the service description (clearly hasn't read it), then says 2:30 isn't going to work because they are swamped and, yes, here's the real reason, it's a Friday afternoon and Tim wants to go home. Mr. Pitts says he wants to reschedule. I figure he means for earlier in the day since he just talked about getting the headlight done. He then suggests Wednesday. I've literally explained to him I live over 3 hours away three times by now, I am already in the area, and he needs to find a way to reschedule me this weekend. He says there is no way. I cancelled my appointment. I wish you could have hear the conversation, this guy was rude. So Kearny Mesa, for your unprofessional, lazy mechanic who cares more about going home than helping your customers, for not keeping your apppintments and canceling last minute, not accommodating rescheduling on a realistic timetable, and general lack of customer service, you honestly are the worst interaction I have had with a car service center ever. Actually with a business in general. You also might want to talk to Mr. Pitts about his priorities and treatment of customers.

Drove past the Subaru dealer in Carlsbad & Temecula to come here

Let me make it simple, don't buy a Subaru anywhere else. I did more research on my car than 95% of people. I looked for 6 months before i bought. These guys are the only ones willing to make a deal and not get a pushy sales manager involved. If you buy somewhere else like carlsbad or Temecula, you are throwing money away and only gaining a headache.
