I felt like I was being judged by appearance

by Brittany on 08/05/2022

A few days ago, I went to BWM of Riverside to check out the i4. After a couple week of doing research on this car I was very interested in purchasing one. I will start off by saying it was mine and my boyfriends day off, so we were dressed really casual. When we got to the dealership Luis came out to greet us and noticed our interest in the i4. My first expression of Luis is that he wasn’t too interested in helping us and not very enthusiastic. We went for a test drive in the i4M50 my first choice and we loved it. Luis explained to us that the one we were driving was not for sale and that it’s pretty much impossible to get one. He then told us that they had an i4 e-drive 40 available, in which I was also impressed with. At the point of our return my daughter was getting very tired and grumpy because it was hot and we had been looking at cars all day. So I wanted to head home even though we were serious about purchasing one. Luis asked me before we left what car I had because I was mentioning I needed to sell my current car. When I told him I owned a Honda he quickly responded that the manager would give me almost nothing for it if they were interested and I was better taking it to Carvana. Kinda strange to get that response from a dealership. When Luis said let’s run some numbers I explained that my daughter was tired but that I would give him my info so he can send me numbers and we can talk further. I gave him both my email and phone number, unfortunately he never contacted me. I felt like he judged us by our casual clothing and the fact that I owned a Honda and didn’t take us serious. Why else would he not take the opportunity to sell a $70,000 car? This was such a let down because it has been a dream of mine to own a BMW since I was a teenager. Fast forward to 20 years later my dream was going to become reality but Luis didn’t take the opportunity to sell me the car. BMW of Riverside won’t be getting my money because I will find another i4 somewhere else. If his decision to not reach out to me was based on appearance and my current car shame on you because I can afford that car. I forgot to mention, Luis told us that the dealership tact’s on $15,000 to the sticker price. That is absolutely insane!!! That is such a ridiculously high markup. Thanks for nothing BMW of Riverside

Fraudulent practices at BMW Riverside exposed

by plucken on 12/02/2019

I saw the cars that were available at BMW Riverside by looking online at their inventory. On 11/27/19 and 11/28/19 there was one BMW X7 the V-6 model advertised for MSRP of $73,900.00 a 2019 model the only one. I made arrangements to come on 11/30/19 to take a test drive of that vehicle. I noticed that the price on 11/29/19 said $83,295 due to the presence of multiple add on's which were not included in the advertisement for that car just the day before. My salesman pulled up the inventory online and on 11/30/19 it said $ 83,295. I protested that the same car said $ 73,900 and they acted like they did not have a clue what I was talking about. This is what they call a 'teaser' I guess to get you to come out and look. It worked. Immediately after the test drive the salesman was asking to run a credit report and I told him to wait as we had not discussed any numbers yet and that I had some grave concerns over the false advertising of the vehicle. Not only did they run a credit report but I saw later on Experian that two credit reports were run by BMW! on 11/30/19. The salesman had asked my income and I provided it and was applying with a good income and credit line on my credit alone not my spouse's.. Later I learned the salesman added an additional 20% income to my credit request which is what I believe what you call fraud! Or falsifying a credit application. This my fifth BMW and also the last from Riverside and I never had any trouble qualifying. . . I had two cash incentives one for $ 2,000 from USAA and one from BMW for $500. Later when I decided to lease instead of buy no one mentioned they only honored 1/2 of this amount $1225.00. I would have appreciated a heads up long before we shook hands.. So when we got to the finance lady she asked if we wanted to add brake service on as it can be very expensive. Since it was a 'black Friday special,' we agreed.. It was $20 per month and I figured $720 was good for 36 months. However, when we later got home and I had a chance to review the docs. I found a charge for $3600 ($100 a month for 36 months). It was labeled a "Mechanical breakdown warranty." Both myself and husband do not recall anyone discussing this before and we did not receive a warranty book and we don't know what is covered what if any is deductible and any other details. We just agreed to the $20 per month to cover brakes. So the discount they gave us of the 2019 car was actually just added back into the lease without our knowledge or consent. This is known as padding the lease. We only knowingly accepted the brake warranty. The financial service woman spoke very fast and started throwing around factors and APR. I told her the manager said the APR was set in stone. So I am unclear if we were charged points for lowering the interest rate (like I said I have solid credit). We would not have accepted another $ 100 a month for something we don't even know what it is. So, this is our fault for going fast with the financial lady. Everyone only talked about monthly lease payment not particular drill downs on each line item. I spoke to the fiance lady later that night and was just as confused after speaking to her I asked if we did not purchase it what would happen and she said we wouldn't have anything. So I reflect upon my last four Bimmer's, 2 525's. an M3 and a X5. None have gotten brakes and I have had the regular 4 year and expended warranties, so I bet even with the extra money the brakes will be fine until out of warranty. I am livid this happened to me we are loyal customers. I am considering going to dept of consumer affairs about this. Or perhaps even legal counsel. We bought the vehicle that is not the point the point is the way we were treated. I am a nurse practitioner. I wonder if I acting so unprofessionally at my practice how I would fare. I can only hope Karma finds it's way to all these deceptive individuals (you know who you are).. Thoroughly disgusted! Pat Lucken [contact info removed]

Terrible service

by Boni on 12/27/2018

I dropped off my car for a regular service. I never received a call, text or email stating they needed to keep the car overnight. When I went to pick it up the next day, I was told the car had not been worked on. I was not offered a courtesy car for use. When I asked to speak with a manager, none of them were willing to come out and talk to me. Someone came out to tell me that I should call the service manager. When I called, the receptionist asked what it was in reference to, put me on hold and returned to say that they were with other customers!!! BMW shame on you!!! Very unprofessional indeed!!!

Disappointing experience

by GeraldG on 10/05/2018

I’ve been a customer at your dealership for more than 15 years, and today was the worse experience I’ve ever encountered at this location. I’m a foster parent in the last stages of adoption, my agency required a vehicle inspection form to be completed by a certified technician. I had my car serviced at your dealership last month, and after paying over $1,000.00 in services, I needed for your technician to reiterate on the form that all the specs met the standard. In all the Years I’ve been coming to service my car at BMW Riverside, they have always completed the form for me. Unfortunately, today I had the pleasure of meeting the service manager, who’s been at BMW for over seven years, and who was previously the assistant manager for four years, he went on about sharing his experience instead of really listening to what I was asking for. I’m a General Manager myself for a luxury brand, and I would never be short of dismissive with any client. I paid for my services, all I needed was for a simple form to be completed for the wealth of my family. Luckily BMW of Irvine was able to help my family.

Terrible, I regret switching from Lexus to BMW

by EH_88 on 08/15/2018

I purchased a new 2018 BMW 530 E from this dealership on 8/5 Sunday afternoon. We drove it home that day happy. That night, we charged our vehicle because it is a plugin Hybrid, it was fully charged by the next morning. The vehicle is advertised as getting 72MPG due to his hybrid functions. Monday morning, i drive 5 miles down the street and my electric battery is gone. down to 30% in a 5 mile drive. Im thinking its a fluke so I go to work which by then is 0% battery, and running soley on gas and getting 20mpg like every other car on the market thats not a hybrid. Came home that night and charged it again. Tuesday moning is fully charged again. The battery is depleted again before i even make it out of my small town. So I call BMW riverside and ask to speak with someone to explain maybe I'm using the hybrid / driving functions wrong. I don' t get much of an answer, they say that my MPG will increase over time and the battery will get better over time. So i drove the vehicle all week to work and back. On Thursday, I get a error warning message on my navi dash saying i need to carefully drive my vehicle to its nearest BMW dealership to fix this issue. At this point i am upset, not only is my hybrid not giving me any mileage, the battery depleting at 5 miles driving and now I'm getting error messages not even one week into driving a brand new BMW?? Friday comes around, and i try to charge my vehicle and it starts making loud engine sounds. Sound i never heard from this car the last 5 days of charging this car. I'm wondering if i got a Lemon from BMW of riverside. So we call BMW tell them the issues and they told me to bring the car in. I go on Saturday to BMW riverside dropped it off. Not only was this dealership rude and unprofessional regarding their loaner car. I am a high mileage driver, my work is 50 miles away which is why i purchased a hybrid in the first place. Not only am i highly upset about my brand new car having to go to the shop not even one week into it, but they wanted me to pay 0.80 cents a mile if i go over 100 miles a day. its not the money, its the principle that was all wrong about this situation. You sell me a damn near lemon car and this dealership wants to make a profit from me? Not to mention, the loaner car i received was filthy. Crumbs, dust, trash and sticky red spot and they have the nerve to tell me to sign a waiver saying if i return it dirty i have to pay detailing fee? You gotta be kidding me. They said they will work on it when i dropped it off on Sunday and will get back to me on Tuesday. I never received a call on Tuesday. I had to the dealership myself to find out the status. They said no one has worked on it yet. I am livid at this point. They said they'll work on it. Fine, i hung up. Today is Wednesday 8/15, 10 full days after purchase and 5 of those 10 days its been sitting in their service shop lot no one has touched it. I am so disappointed in my purchase, in this dealership's customer service or there lack of. I just want to drive the car i purchased while it functions properly is that too much to ask for? I want to be treated as a customer with respect and updates on my car from this dealership, but all i keep getting is attitudes, excuses and poor customer service.

Superb Customer Service with the Best Prices.

by Adeebhattar on 07/14/2018

Ross is an outstanding person. After owning a 2015 650i for 2 years, I purchased a 2017 Maserati Ghibli and only owned the vehicle for 5 months and drove the vehicle 2,000 miles. I stopped at BMW Riverside to look at the new 750i and with the help of Ross, he was able to make the deal work for me. Ross is one of the most knowledgeable people when it comes to cars with superb advise and world class customer service. I will be purchasing an X7 and 8 series once out and will take my business to Ross. I highly recommended to ask for Ross if anyone is in the market for a new car regardless of the brand, because Ross will do his best to accommodate anyone’s needs with a BMW first.

Awesome buying experience

by Prospero_S on 07/12/2018

Hi, I recently bought a BMW i3 from BMW of Riverside! The car has been great!! My wife and son love the car!!!! Told them that this was the first hassle free car buying experience I ever had !!!!! Literally from Rodrigo and Osmond to there other colleagues, I can’t say thank you enough, sometimes when you go to a dealership, it’s a stressful moment having to deal with sales personal, but I can’t say that about Rodrigo and his other colleagues!!!! I felt so comfortable and stress free!!! I felt so confident because Rodrigo knew the product (BMW I3) that i need not go to another dealership or test drive another vehicle, I know I was buying the right car for me and my family, the knowledge and passion Rodrigo had for the car(s)/products and the BMW brand, convinced me to buy the car!!!! Thank you again for the great stress-free experience and definitely keep in touch!!!! I can’t say thank you enough but again thank you my friend and keep up the fantastic job your doing!!! Your the reason why you guys are #1!!!! Again thank you and keep in touch!!

Chris Drumm

by Liz_M on 07/05/2018

I had a positive experience with Chris from Day One! It took a few weeks to figure out which vehicle I wanted yet he was extremely patient the entire time. Once I made a decision, the process went smoothly. I didn't get my X1 for a few months only because it wasn't readily available in the color and options I wanted; however, he and the dealership's inventory manager worked their magic to get my vehicle into production. He was and continues to be responsive to any questions I have. Thank you to Chris and the entire team for your professionalism--it was a pleasant experience!

These guys were top notch! We have a bmw dealership 10 min from us and we still drove 45 min just for the awesome service. They were accommodating, upfront, and honest. This was the first time I felt like I received a great deal on a car. The negotiations were fair and never felt as if I was blown off or strong armed. I would definitely recommend and be back again.

Dishonest or stupid, stay away!!

by krisnkaipo on 12/12/2015

We have been working on a deal for a convertible 435, have a number in writing TWICE, multiple verbal discussions with Edwin regarding my friend was leery and wanted to make sure there were no hidden fees, he assured me there were not he had been doing this for 10 years sent me another e-mail confirming that! His numbers were great and every other dealership could not approach their price and told us something was wrong....I guess I am too trusting, because I could not imagine a business of this level lying to me or being that dumb. I was mistaken, go to do the deal and oops turns out they gave us the wrong price and so sorry oh and there is no one around that is capable of making a decision to make it right! They are either exceptionally dishonest or exceptionally stupid, either way stay away from this dealership! I am in shock. I am going to try to contact BMW USA and the BBB and report this schister dealership! Bad business practices on this level should not be allowed! This is a lot of money on the line and I would assume they are regulated to not allow the consumer to be taken advantage of.

Unprofessional, Carelessness, Disregard, Neglect to Customers

by Eli8181 on 09/16/2015

On September 14, 2015 I called bmw of riverside and spoke to Justin the dealer. After some negotiations we reached a price which was agreed upon. I told Justin that I would be in the next day around noon. As agreed I did show up with a check for the promised amount on a pre paid lease which was $19,800. When I got there after the test drive, we proceeded to signing papers as well as a credit inquiry. I asked if we could raise the milaege allowance when Justin went to check, he came back with the manager Ammar Haque. Ammar proceeded in a very rude and arrogant way to tell me there is "problem" which he proceeded to blame an "older employee" who probably has trouble seeing named "Ty". Ammar said that the price has now gone up to $25,800. As I was trying to resolve the issue Ammar continued with a grin repeating "there's nothing I can do" several times. I try'd resolving the issue myself as the "manager" had zero problem solving skills nor customer service. I told him to discount the price of the lease which he raised $6,000 to $25,000 total, meet me between the original promised price and the new price he came up with, give me anything in order to resolve the issue but Ammar Haque continued repeating with an arrogant grin "there's nothing I can do" I explained to him that I drove two hours to get to him, took a day off of work, that they ran my credit, that I had a check written, sold my car, however no mater what I told Ammar Haque he continued to repeat "there's nothing I can do". I asked to speak to someone else he said there's no one else here and it was 2 P.M on a Tuesday. I continued to explain my situation again and that I drove two hours, took an expensive business day off, had my credit ran, signed the papers, etc, however Ammar responded with a grin "there's nothing I can do". He said nothing other than that the entire conversation. Ammar Haque and non existent managers did not handle the situation and their mistake in a professional and respectable manner at all. This is one of the most terrible customer service experiences I have ever dealt with. I will not be returning to BMW of Riverside again as they do not treat their customers professionally or respectfully. Managers are not available to help and the dealers don't care to resolve the situation. I would not recommend [non-permissible content removed] to anyone. Truly unacceptable service.

Best Buying Experience Ever

by vwalker_G37 on 05/26/2015

My name is Vic and I am a self confessed car maven. On 5-21-15 I went to BMW Riverside and had the absolutely BEST car buying experience I ever had. Emil was so very helpful in getting me my DREAM F-82. Emil worked diligently to honor the promises we had worked out on an earlier visit. I was not only able to order my special dream car....but also got some custom carbon fiber parts as well that is like icing on the cake. Andrew Cruz was my sales rep and he was very professional and helpful. He was very patient with me and worked closely with Emil to get all the details of my desires sorted out. Riverside BMW is full of courteous professionals with a no pressure helpful attitude. I did a TON of research and shopped every BMW dealership in so cal. I chose Riverside because Emil and his staff made me feel comfortable and relaxed as well as attending to all the small nuances that a maven like myself has. I could not give Emil and the is dealership a higher recommendation. Andrew followed up today (5-26-15) with a nice email and a pdf file of my build sheet.....I was so excited to see my car...even if it was just on paper. :) I called him with a few questions and he was courteous and professional. If you want the best BMW experience ever.....Riverside is the place.

Bad Experience

by cnand on 03/31/2014

I have tried to buy a BMW 528i. I agreed to the price they were selling for and was in the process of filling the BMW credit application and preparing other required documentation. I even gave my credit card information for a non-refundable $1000 deposit. I called the dealer again regarding a question on the forms I was filling and the dealer told me that the car has been sold. It was probably 15 minutes after I gave my credit card information. It appeared very unreasonable for them to sell the car when I agreed to buy the car at the price they have quoted. The person I was dealing with was Ammar H.

My First BMW

by bigminh on 12/05/2010

I was referred to BMW of RVSD through Edmunds.com. This is the most pleasant new car purchase I ever experienced. Chris Sharpe, customer advisor is very knowledgeable about the car and not pushy. A few days after the purchase, my car developed a computer problem. BMW of RVSD and BMW USA didn't just take care of the problem, but went beyond my expectation in standing behind their products and warranty. My first BMW and will be a BMW of RVSD customer for life.

BMW of Riverside

by brianr2010 on 01/25/2010

Having the worst luck with car dealers. Even in this severe recession they are greedy and trying to screw you when you would think they would want to make an honest, ethical deal and gain a customer for life. I made a visit to Riverside BMW just yesterday. The salesman was very nice and took all the time in the world to help me and answer my questions. That part was great! When I sat down to talk lease payments is when the experience went south quick. ok, a 2010 BMW m6 with a sticker price of $114,000 they came up with $5,000.00 down payment and my trade in which I am upside down on according to them is $2,797.00 PER MONTH for 36 months on a LEASE!!! And I have perfect credit! That comes out to $105,692.00 to basically rent this car for 3 years, a $114,000.00 car. OUTRAGEOUS!!!! You can go to leasetrader.com and the BMW m6 varies from $1,100.00 per month up to $1,500.00 and there is only 1 for $1,800.00 per month. The whole point of a lease is to pay down the depreciation plus interest.. Perhaps they think I was looking to lease a Bentley?
