Buyer Beware

BUYER BEWARE. Go somewhere else. These people are not to be trusted. In November I purchased a used Minivan for my business. While I'm aware of the inherent risks of purchasing a used car (I worked in the car business for 10 years), I purchased it from a dealership instead of private party or an auction, hoping that the car would have been checked over thoroughly before being put on their lot. I was wrong. Within days the check engine light came on. Two weeks later, it wouldn't even start. It needed a new fuel pump switch. Now a month after that and the check engine light comes back on as well as the oil change light. Within 60 days and less than 500 miles that I've put on the minivan (most of those miles have been taking it back to them because I live over an hour away) it has needed a fuel pump switch, oil change and now a catalytic converter, which they want to charge me at least $1000 for. They obviously did nothing to this car before sticking it on their lot and taking my money. Dealerships like this give all the others a bad name. I gave them plenty of opportunities to fix this before writing this review. My husband spoke to everyone from the sales managers to service directors. My advice, don't buy anything here, don't service your car here. Their customer service and all around moral decency is atrocious.

After driving all over Southern California and dealing with many different dealerships and unhelpful salesmen to find my truck, I contacted Toyota Chula Vista because they had the exact vehicle I wanted on their website. I called and was connected to Isaac, who was incredibly helpful and energetic. He found my vehicle on the lot and face timed me to show me all the features of the truck, and had it set aside for me until I finished work and could drive down to buy it. His friendliness and easy going attitude made the entire purchasing process painless and easy. I would highly recommend him and his colleagues to anybody wanting to purchase a Vehicle.

!!!BAIT & SWITCH - THEY TRIED BUT FAILED!!!!

late july, came to agreement with salesman marco over texts on a 2011 tacoma for 19k& (ad price at the time: 19888$) & he said he might even be able to go 18k$ for me. so I zoomed to the dealership. test drove. signed financing paperwork & THEY RAN MY CREDIT & marco comes back with the paperwork. we start going over the prices & he shows me the car priced at 19888$. WTF!!! it was 19$ leaning on 18$ & now we're at 19888$??? confused i asked "what about the price you quoted me less than an hour ago. he says with a blank face: "sorry i thought i could offer it to you at that price but i can't". I drove back 45 miles. the next day he texts me (here's the funny part) & tells me he lowered it by a 1000$ ###FOR ME### & asked how i feel about that. suspicious & still pi**ed off, i checked the AD only to see they had lowered the car by a 1000$. HAH! but I thought I'll play the game. few more texts & we agreed on 18500$ plus 1600$ for my trade in. I get ready to go back & forget about last night, when he texts me & says they can only do 1000$ on my trade in even thought they appraised my car the night before. to add inury to the insult, a week later he texts me & says "truck is sold". whomever at this crooked dealership is reading this: your business practices are unethical & dishonest. I reported you guys to BBB & DMV Investigations. you thenk people are idiots, they're not. you lost one customer but I hope reading this more people become aware of how you do sales & stay away. thanks for dinging my credit marco. you were really polite but sorry I didn't let you rip me off. Cheers.

Best experience buying a car yet.

I contacted their internet sales manager via email and was most impressed with how quickly he responded to all of my questions, I would ask about details late at night and would still get a quick response, he obviously has his email sent to his phone which to me indicates a high level of dedication. They worked hard to earn my business and I'm not an easy customer to please. In the end he earned it and although the dealership is actually very far from where I live (in Carlsbad) it was worth the drive. Had my car detailed and ready when I arrived, went straight into finance, no games, no BS, and was driving home happy shortly after. Impressive level of professionalism in an otherwise unprofessional industry. Thanks guys!

Recently purchased a car for a newspaper advertised special. I also got the "recent graduate" discount with no questions asked, in addition to Toyota's currently stellar finance rates. I am not from south county, but their dealership is very nice and everyone seems fairly laid back.

VERY NICE DEALERSHIP

I have visited this dealership 3 times prior to today looking at the RAV4 and recently, the 2008 Highlander. I have a soft spot for salespeople, but do not enjoy being jacked. I held my ground and walked away with a sweet deal. The finance department was the most pleasureable, as usual. They happem to be the good cops everytime.
