Relaxing Car Purchasing

My name is JP, and I am a long time San Diego resident. I purchased multiple cars from a variety of dealerships in San Diego area over the years. Just like everybody else in the community, my car purchasing experience was always stressful. It is hard to get the right car with the right price. Usually it took me multiple trips to the dealership with intensive negotiations before a deal could be reached. Recently I purchased a new car from Toyota Carlsbad. The salesperson is Mr. Joy, and this time my experience is totally different - it is very relaxing. In April, we decided to buy a new Toyota car. We searched some nearby Toyota dealership websites, and made a few phone calls. Unfortunately we were not able to make a deal. In early May, Mr. Joy reached out to me through email and answered questions in detail about a new way of purchasing. So we paid a deposit and placed a new car order with all the specifications. During the waiting period, Mr. Joy gave us multiple status updates. Finally the car arrived, and the transaction was finished at Toyota Carlsbad in a professional and pleasant way with the help of Mr. Joy. Mr. Joy is very honest in pricing, and very considerable to provide us with existing incentives. I trust Mr. Joy and Toyota Carlsbad. I will strongly recommend Mr. Joy and Toyota Carlsbad to my friends and anybody who is in the process of purchasing a car. Outstanding sales and financial staff... Knowledgeable... Personable... NO pressure... Very efficient... Ask for Duff or Giovanni. Best prices in town... Only place with very few dealer markups right now... Only on very hard-to-get vehicles. Absolutely my best car buying experience ever!!

Drove about 50 miles out of my way because when making big ticket purchases, customer service means everything to me. Arrived on site and wasn't disappointed. In and out, with top notch customer service. Emily with sales was awesome, and so was Aaron with financing.

MARTIN SUAREZ Horrible service won't stop harassing me

We bought a truck from toyota Carlsbad , we were supp use to go with escondido since truck was 10,000 cheaper and Martin was giving us 900 payments while escondido was giving us 700 payment so we let him know we were just gonna go with escondido, he then went from 900 to 600 so we made the biggest mistake of our life going with Carlsbad, Escondido warned us make sure they don't add anything more and switch numbers on you and a week later they did after already signing contract he called asking for 10,000 down payment, I gave them all they asked for to show them I made sufficient money he said I had 21 day to give him that money I said ok I'll figure something out, next day he calls harassing me saying so how much are u gonna give me I need that money, I replied u said yesterday I had 21 days he said no I need it today, I said it was short notice the following day he calls and says how much are you gonna give me Orwell me where ure at I'll go get truck, I have never felt so harrased,while escondido told us just to keep the down payment , because credit was soon good .

I just purchased a Toyota Tacoma from Toyota Carlsbad. Thed sales agent Martin Suarez was outstanding, and whiling to work with me without pressuring me to buy something I did not want. Also Aaron jn finance made things happen really quick and again there was nok pressure. Great overall experience.

Exceptional Customer Service

I found some great information on Edmunds, which I used to negotiate the price on our new 2013 Toyota Prius V. The information that I found out Edmunds also enabled me to get the best value for my 2002 BMW 325i as a trade-in. Through Edmunds, an email was generated and sent to 5 Toyota dealers. We dealt with Omar C. at Toyota Carlsbad. He never exercised any pressure on us and based on my research on Edmunds, we were able to purchase our Prius under the invoice price. Mandi G., the Finance Manger was awesome as well. We now have four Prius' in our family. We always take our Prius' to Toyota Carlsbad for service. The people in their service department are phenomenal and they set the bar for all other service departments.

I was comfortable dealing with TSC

Although we didn't buy our car here, TSC worked hard for our business. I felt at ease conducting internet mail with them. I received twelve bids from twelve dealers. TSC ranked #6 lowest (#12 was high). TSC was willing to negotiate and worked hard to find the auto configuration we sought. Just couldn't find our car in the local region. We eventually found our car 140 miles away, dealt with them by internet, and got a good price which ranked #3 lowest of all we received.

Friendly, open, straightforward

I went in on a Saturday afternoon, was helped right away. The salesman listened to what I wanted and put me in exactly the car I described. I was only looking for a test drive that day, but he still spent time with me explaining the features of the car. I spend a lot of time driving on the freeway, so he took me on a test drive two exits from the dealership so I could spend a little more time on the highway. Most dealerships have just taken me to the next exit. During the ride, he was personable and friendly, not pushy. They typically ask what other cars you're looking at, so I explained that I was also considering the BMW convertible. I was debating owning a convertible in Southern California (the perfect verhicle for the perfect weather) versus driving a hybrid (I drove the Camry) which was better for the environment. When we got back to the dealership, he said he would run the numbers for me. He came back with a $32,000 quote, which he explained was list price on the car. Without saying it, he implied the price was up for negotiation. It was a typical sales experience, but not high pressure. The sales manager also came over to talk to me and asked if there was anything they could do to make a sale that day. We discussed the fact that I was also considering a BMW. His comment was that if I could afford a BMW, I should buy it. I appreciated his candor. Ultimately I decided to buy the convertible, but it was a hard choice. The Camry was an excellent ride (subject for a different review) and I liked the way I was treated. I looked for a car for three months, and this was my best sales experience.

Straight easy deal

Bought a 2006 Highlander Hybrid "on the phone." Called all the dealers in my area (northern California) and all of their prices were thousands of dollars higher than the quote from Toyota of Carlsbad. Flew down to San Diego, picked up the car--which was ready exactly when they said it would be--and got exactly what I expected. There were no BS add-ons, no nonsense, and no attempt to jack the price up. Excellent!
