A Happy Sales Experience

Searched for a Subaru 2024 Crosstrek in the Phoenix Metro area, and found Scottsdale Subaru had what my daughter and I was looking for! Went to the dealership and meet salesmen Tim Felty, and we looked at various options of buying or leasing, and ended up leasing a white Crosstrek Limited model. Tim, Scott (sales Mgr), and the Finance Mgr., did a great job helping us!

Relaxed atmosphere

Fair price, first try!

I was looking at a Subaru Forester Wilderness at a different dealership. I had done my research and had a "fair price" in mind. When the other dealer could not meet my price, I called AutoNation Subaru. When I told my sales rep, Luis, that I was on the road and deciding whether to go to Scottsdale or a dealer in downtown Phoenix, he said he would call me right back. Within 15 minutes, I had a call from Ward, the sales manager, and the price was within $150 of my budgeted price. We purchased the car that day! I also had a bumper guard installed by the Service Department. Scheduling the appointment was simple, and Stefon took my car in ahead of time and returned it to me faster than I expected. Finally, I met with Tabitha for an after-sale refresher (and a $25 gas card). Tabitha pointed out some features that I wasn't aware of and answered all of my questions. Everyone at AutoNation (unlike the other dealer) seemed to want me to buy a car from them. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this dealership without hesitation.

Good people to work with

Beginning with an online chat, we were able to get the information we needed to start the process. After starting with a competitor, we found our way to AutoNation. After a couple of miscommunications, we were able to make the deal that was best for us. Starting with Pearson Story, we were treated respectfully. Colton in financing was helpful and not pushy. Would absolutely recommend working with this team.

Bait and Switch - deceptive sales practice

CUSTOMER COMPLAINT 8-18-2023 Re: AutoNation Subaru Scottsdale 15678 N Northsight Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ 85260 Re: Deceptive Business Practice – “Bait and Switch “i.e. Customer is "baited" by merchant advertising a product at a (written agreed ‘trade’ price), but when customer visits the store for ‘closing’, they discover the advertised (vehicle trade price) has increased by thousands of dollars. In this particular case an increase of $4000.00., resulting in a sale/fail. CAUTION: I recommend extreme caution for anyone even remotely considering doing business with this automobile dealership! On June 10th, 2023, Mr.Mueller (sales person) sent to me a (firm) approved price agreement, approval by sales manager Brett Leib (SEE COPY ATTACHED). The stated Autonation price of the new vehicle would be $35164.39, and my trade in allowance would be $24154.74 – with an estimated closing balance due of $12613.15, after crediting my previously submitted $500.00 good faith requirement. I signed my approval signature to the document, and emailed it back to Mr. Mueller. At the closing appointment date – having waited in the office for over 1.5 hours, Mr. Mueller exited from one of the offices and approached me with the following. “First the ‘bad news’ – your trade value has been reduced by $4000.00, but the ‘good news’ is that we will only charge you an additional $2000.00.” I was astounded by the news. Mr. Mueller knew I’d never have made that 200+ mile trip to Scottsdale, if the [previously agreed to agreement was changed)! That then coupled with the fact that the Subaru had not even been washed and fueled in advance of the closing appointment, was outrageous. It immediately became evident this entire episode was nothing more than a planned bait and switch designed to have me drive 200+ miles from Sierra Vista, to Scottsdale, then have me sit around for near two hours wondering when we’d get to the closing procedure, followed by then changing the agreement in an attempt to extract thousands of dollars more from me. I asked Mr. Mueller for the return of my key module and said I was leaving. The gentleman, whom I’d never yet been introduced to, followed me out the door and said something about ‘market adjustment’. I told him we’d had a contract – he was quick to say that was not a contract! I just looked at him and figured “semantics at work”, with regard to the interpretation of the meaning of linguistics. I left the premises.

Sharp Service Manager saved us a bunch of money!

Had a problem with our 2015 Subaru Outback we couldn’t figure out. We were very pleased and surprised to find it was a recall-covered repair (minute crack in exhaust pipe) that would have cost us a lot of $$$ to fix somewhere else. The Service Dept at Subaru Scottsdale was on top of it! My husband & I were so happy with the way they treated us. They were extremely kind to fit us in on one of our rare days off together, so that I wouldn’t need to Uber 25 miles back home by myself. We’ll be returning to get our Outback serviced there, from here on out! :-)

Good service but waiting room is too small

I have used them before and always happy with the work. However, they are now expanding the facility and moved the waiting area to a small cramped room. Every chair was taken and nobody looked happy. I found a comfortable chair in the new car showroom to wait for my car. I think they should have told people that they could still wait in the new car showroom.

Scottsdale Subaru

The salesman ordered the wrong car. He didn’t get the windows tinted. He didn’t get the car detailed and he wrote up the wrong car for purchase. Why am I giving them five stars? Because three Heroes came to the rescue- Samantha, Tabitha and Sarah. Samantha took care of a coating on the windshield and she was knowledgeable. Tabitha was incredibly kind. She helped with everything! Plus taught me how to use my car and enjoy its features. Sarah provided a much missed CD player which the salesman didn’t inform us we needed to have put in extra.

Awesome staff and great cars

This year we wanted to buy reliable car for our daughter who is going to college. Of course a precious Subaru owner, it was a no brainer to buy another Subaru. The sales associate Emil M was a delight to work with. He wasn’t pushy but gave us enough time and space to think about the purchase. We wanted to buy a car but didn’t really know which Subaru would be the right one for us. Emil was able to guide us to our brand new 2023 Subaru Forester.
