I have a 2008 Sequoia that was new in 2009.5. We have had it for just 2.5 years and turned 40,000 when the entire audio/navigation unit blacked out. After $111.00 at the dealer, they said "yes, its broken." and now they want $2,000 to replace it. I certainly did no expect this quality from a $54,000 SUV. Very disappointed in toyota quality. Our 2011 Sequoia started acting up recently as the weather started getting colder (October 2011). When starting the vehicle up the display remains dark. About 15 to 20 minutes later the display will magically turn on, and from that point will operate normally. We've noticed that the delay duration seems to be getting longer. I've taken the vehicle to Toyota and showed the admissions person the problem, only to have Toyota ... Read More

I forgot to add this question to my previous post.... Does anyone know the recommended time to change the transmission in a 2008 Sequoia? Obviously, I know this will vary depending upon usage type, but I am still a bit shocked that they didnt have ... Read More

I have a 2008 Platinum Sequoia. The DRLs can NOT be turned off. Even though they are described as "on/off" in your invoice, they aren't. I believe then can be turned off in Canada but not in the US. Sorry, busy yesterday; here they are. SEQUOIA = 1,760 in December 09 versus 2,399 in December 08, which is down -31.9%. People getting 10,000 off sticker was due to a melt down of the economy, high gas prices, and over production of the Sequoia. Toyota cannot stay in business if it means giving 10,000 off sticker to sell a vehicle. Deflation has not taken prices to this threshold. Based on my inquiry and responses from dealers, I believe we are still in the 15%-18% MAX range as far as prices paid off MSRP are concerned for 2008 Sequoias still on the lots. I also have a 2004 limited with the same problems. The rear window stop working all together about a year ago. On 08/12/2008 I shut the rear door and the latch broke. I called the Toyota dealership and of course this part is not under warranty. I will definitely call Toyota's 1-800 # to make a complaint. I believe the latch is a defect, this vehicle is hardly used.
Toyota is offering $369/mo for 36 months on model 7919 with MSRP of $41,010, $2080 down, residual of $22,915. Does this sound too good?
"I have a 2008 Limited Sequoia, and from the time I bought it the GPS has not worked correctly. For example, I sit in my home town and do search for Walmart, Lowes etc..and it gives me locations hundreds of miles away. Has anyone else had this issue. Also, in directing me to destinations, the GPS wants to take me off on side roads instead of keeping me on the most ... Read More

We purchased the cargo mats, instead of the carpet mats, from Toyota for the Sequoia and they not only look great but are also made for the vehicle. The rear mat comes in two sections for when you have the 3rd row up. Before you purchase the mats take a look at the Toyota mats.
Taking delivery of a silver sky this weekend. Anyone have any info on: cargo mat fitting behind second row seats? I will have the third row seats down most of the time and haul stuff fairly often can the platinum badge and toyota badge on the rear liftgate be removed with no holes? I like the "unbadged" look They just pulled off my 05 4Runner recommendations for floor mats? MacNeil? Thanks ... Read More
Up to $8,000 in cash back in the southeast?? Sounds pretty good. I have been actively searching for a 2008 Sequoia 4wd for about a month now and I am just waiting on the right deal. I live in Texas, but have also been looking outside the state as well. I have a quote for a 4WD SR5 MSRP at ~$49,200 for $43,000 with toyota loyalty ($2k) and grad rebates ($400) ... Read More
Just wanted to know what others think about my recent purchase. One dealership gave us $7000 off of MSRP on a 2008 Sequoia SR5/5.7 L with leather at 0%/60 month financing. Also, this vehicle had been driven by the sales manager for 1200 miles. I discovered that it is challenging to come up with a valuation on a vehicle like this because it is already being severely discounted, 0% financing, and ... Read More

Hi Carman, Just got 2 quotes on an '08 sequoia limited 4x4, they were both roughly the same at $47,600 (Sticker for around 52k and change). I then asked for a 12k mile 36 mo lease from both dealers. The one dealer got back and advised $1600 due at signing, and $736 a mo plus tax!!!! I almost dropped my phone, I was completely shocked. I knew their not pushing them ... Read More
Hi jmcdermott1. It is definitely not in your best interest to enter into such a long lease. The main reason why it is not a good idea is Toyota's special lease money factor for the 2008 Sequoia is only available for leases up to 36 months in length. If you lease this truck for 60 months, the money factor that is used to calculate the interest portion of your lease payment ... Read More
Hello ccap. I believe that in most regions Toyota Financial Services' buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2008 Sequoia SR5 4WD with 12,000 miles per year are .00016 and 57%, respectivelt for consumers who qualify for its Tier 1+ credit tier. Keep in mind though that TFS places restrictions upon what options can be residualized. This makes it very difficult to calculate ... Read More
Thanks! It seems that pricing in NJ/NY area are a little bit better than Northern California. One key reason is that the invoice price in N. CA is higher due to Toyota's advertising budget allocation etc. In fact, the invoice price in this region appears to be $800 to $900 higher than what's shown on Edmunds.com. Because of the higher invoice price, the dealer are less willing to go far below ... Read More
In response to your question: did the $7800 off MSRP price include $2000 Toyota Loyalty cash rebate of $2000. Answer: I don't think so. A few dealers said I needed to own an older Sequoia to get another $2000 loyalty cash. I already owned a Camry but this did not appear to be a factor in getting the $7800 off MSRP. Here's a link to a dealer with $9800 off MSRP ... Read More
