I love it!

My husband and I were looking for an SUV without the SUV gas prices. We also live in Alaska so we wanted something that had 4X4 but was fun to drive, would be safe for when we start a family, and could handle the snow and ice. We could not be more pleased with what we got with the Rav-4. The AK weather tested the Rav-4 yesterday and as my husband was driving he looked at me and said, "I love this car." The Rav-4 handled beautifly. Also, having had Toyotas since I was 16 I had high expectations for the Rav-4 and it met every one of them.

A Terrible SUV

I didn't have much time to cross-shop, so I just followed public opinion before I picked my RAV4. It was completely a disaster. Fuel economy is nowhere close to the EPA number. The engine made so bothering noise and finally stalled. I just put this car on sale and hope somebody just buys it quickly.

Bought Base V6 AWD on 11/4/06. Driving every day on Route 17 (who lives in NJ knows what does it mean) - pretty much city driving. Today filled 1st time. Exactly 21 mph - first time see the same number as on sticker (usually EPA number is 20-25% better then reality). Great ride, acceleration, suspension, standard radio sound quality and reception. Not much blind zones. All controls are so easy you don't need to read a manual. Seats are very supportive. Turning circle is excellent.

My 2007 Toyota RAV4 (6 cyl) continues to amaze me. This my third Japanese vehicle and will probably exceed my expectations in terms of reliability. Toyotas do not break - no expensive repair bills, no frustration. The 2007 RAV4 is destined to be a favorite for decades to come.

I compared the RAV4 vs CRV and eventually got the RAV4. The RAV4's interior feels cheap - I like the CRV interior better and the CRV's top mounted rear door make more sense. But the RAV4 won me over the CRV with the V6, handling and the interior cargo space. CRV only has 52 inches while RAV4 flow flat back seat gave me 70 inches. The RAV4 has more room and is more comfortable.
