A Little Gem

Bought an '06 with 61,000 back four years ago. I now have just under 105k on it. This thing is built better than any car I have ever owned. Toyota just thinks everything out so well -- even the tire jack is in an elegant little tray which keeps all of the parts together without rattling. I have never been too mindful of the gas mileage -- I generally get in the low 40's - but the real beauty of this car is the build quality. It is a base model but everything in it works as well today as they day it was built. Cars are expensive and these are more expensive than most cars in their class -- but they are worth every penny for the lack of drama they provide day in and day out.

I picked up the car from my local AutoNation dealership. It came with 115,000 miles on it, the interior and exterior were super clean. The first week I drove it I went 380 miles. The on board computer says I am getting 45mpg, but the car comes with a 11.9 gallon tank, so the mpg's don't add up. I live in Phoenix so the A/C is constantly on, but should the milage be that far off? I don't think so. I will tell all of you that when I went to filler it up the total 13.50. That was an awesome feeling. I'm 5'10 and I could use a little more room. I have the seat all the way back, and it still a bit cramped. It's a great commuter car, and I drive 30 miles round trip, so it is perfect. I paid $6000. for the car, the tires look new and it stops on a dime. I have no real complaints. I hope this helps you with your choice. Update, the hybrid battery went out 7 months after purchasing the car, that repair was $1799. Wasn't expecting that. Mileage has gone up, I'm getting 405 miles per tank these days. All and all I like the car but don't know if I would buy another one.

Double Pleasure

At 54 yrs of age and the owner of many cars this hybrid car is the best car I EVER owned. It is fun to drive, excellent gas mileage plenty of power and I definitely am doing my part for the environment. Over the past few years it has improved on the looks too. It is truly amazing how much power this little car has. The display on the dash shows in detail how the energy/gas consumption is being used. It's almost a year I owned this car with no problems. The only time it was at the dealership was for an oil change. To fill the tank it cost me about $24. It can get 61 mpg on the highway and 53 mpg in the city. When you're at a stop light or in slower traffic that is when the electric motor runs!

Very impressive vehicle. Well made very refined. We were drawn to this vehicle because of the fuel economy and the 06 tax credit of 3150. Very peppy car lots of power. Handling very sure. Ride smooth with the characteristics of a smaller sedan, some road bumps felt. We bought the top of the line model with the GPS and leather seat and trim. Epa estimates on fuel economy are way off as they are on most vehicles. We are getting 41 mpg (only 470 total miles so far) but will improve. All told we are extremely happy with our purchase and would recommend this vehicle to anyone. Hope this review helps. Bill & Nancy

Love it. Drives like a champ. Great gas mileage. I was a little skeptical of hybrids, but I love this car. More room than I thought.
