WORST YEAR EVER MADE !! Beware

I have had this truck for 38 months and thank god Leased it -- I have had Jeeps for years as well as my family - I dont even know where to begin with the electrical problems -- about a week after driving this car off the lot - the computer went out - brought it back twice - Still goes out - the radio stations all get deleted, the GPS - Im not even sure it is in the same state as I am when it is giving me directions -- I have about 8 recalls that are all nothing to do with electrical problems - Then one day i started the car in a parking lot, left keys in it and what do you know, the keys automatically locked in the car -luckily a nice police officer helped me out - The fan for the heater, I have to carry an umbrella in my truck at all time to hit it for air conditioning and heat !! Now the best of the best - The ignition but, yep you guessed it- the car doesnt start -- It has to keep rethinking and restarting -- usually it will eventually start -- LOL i had less problems when I first got my piece of junk car when I was 17!! The key fob - good luck with the auto start - Not even sure that worked after the first year -- I have 2 very busy jobs, One of then is a realtor - So i drive a ton -- so of course the warranty is no longer any good - what a mess !!! So not i am stuck giving this piece of junk back and really only option is to pay for overage on mileage or release -- I am hoping 2016 is better -

I have the 2012 Grand Cherokee Overland Summit. It has great options & most work well. The problems have been many recalls; the original tires, which were expensive wore poorly & had several flats. Since 11/12, I have only put 31000 miles. My latest problem started with a antifreeze leak, which was diagnosed as a cracked left head(hemi). Apparently this happens regularly since the heads are on national backorder. This latest fix kept me using a loaner for 5 weeks. The dealership is terrific, but the Jeep isn't. UPDATED 8/2/16 HAS HAD A FEW MORE RECALLS, MILEAGE NOW 37100, PUT NEW MICHELINS ON & THEY DON'T WARE OUT AT ALL. NO AMOUNT OF SNOW, ETC. EVEN SLOW DOWN THIS VEHICLE. EXCEPT FOR THE MILEAGE, I LOVE THIS JEEP.

Overland Leather Dash Warped and Blistered

I bought this car in January of 2012 and by November of that year notice some minor bubbles in leather dash. By mid summer of 2013 it was very noticeable and by early spring of 2014 it was ridiculous. Warps, bubbles, waves in the leather and the plastic inserts. I drive a lot so I was beyond 36K miles by the time I complained though the car has only been in service 26 months or so and mileage has nothing to do with the dashboard disaster. So far the dealer will only respond that it is out of warranty. Other than the dashboard and some minor complaints about paint quality on the non-metallic body parts, the vehicle is excellent. UPDATE 160K miles later the vehicle has been great . But some of the luxury parts have suffered wood panel on door cracked off, stuff like that. Overall a really great vehicle. I traded car in for a Q70L after 190,000 miles. While the car was great overall, service at Fitzgerald Jeep, Clearwater, FL was even better. If i ever got another, I would skip the luxury accoutrements, that is not Jeep's strong suit.

Many, many recalls and you have to pay out-of-pocket when you get a rental car . I have basically replaced every major item in the car including the catalytic converter and complete $1300 steering gear. Everything made out of plastic so they either crack or fall off the car. Then had to replace the entire cooler and fluid retainer

I purchased my jeep cherokee and chose not to buy the extended warranty. At 68,000km the engine light came on and my warranty expired at 60,000....code read indicated cylinder misfire...currently my jeep will be taken apart and in the mechanic shop for a week or so, its been there now for two day...power train warranty does cover it thank heavens....however extremely disappointed its already in the shop for repairs...apparently this is a common problem had i done my research i would not have purchased this vehicle...next time i will be getting extended warranty...but not a chrysler....good luck!!! my brothers lending me his truck for now!!!!
