Purchased my 2006 Honda brand new off the lot. I have had the van for 8 years and put on 75K miles. The first 50K miles were great. No issues and then the expense: Engine Mount $1,000, Sliding Door repair $350, Axle/boot issue $600, A/C repair $450, steering box $250 and not to mention putting on my third set of tires at 75K miles. Normal repairs such as brakes, fluids etc but to be expected.

What happened to Honda's reliability

Bought this van to replace a worn out Chevy Venture that we had driven for over 7 years. We went with Honda for the 8-passenger option and the assumed reliability we've heard about Honda's hoping to make it another 7 years with this van. Within 7 days we started having issues: transmission catches, road vibrations, sliding door rattles and creaks, anti-lock brake noises. You name it. I am sorely disappointed that this will be my vehicle for the next 5-7 years, especially when I read all the other similar complaints about this vehicle. Who'd have thought a 1999 Chevy Venture would turn out to be my dream car?

What a lemon, many bad transmissions and more

My daughter bought this car thinking Honda was a quality product. What a huge disappointment. It is hard to be happy with a product when the company put out a lemon. You can read many many complaints about the transmissions on these things. Motor mounts very expensive needed replacing. Paint fell off on half of car, what a piece of junk. Yes her transmission went out. When she bought it used from a Honda dealer she noticed it had a small drip of transmission fluid and asked the dealer to fix it. What they did not tell her there is no fixing it. Torque converter problems bearing problems. Another transmission she had to pay for it and it still has problems. Yes, Honda, I will never buy another. I know my daughter will never buy another and this was her second. Update... problems with sliding door , paint falling off hood,

An Odyssey in Disappointment

In general, I have found a lot of the plastic parts on the car to be total garbage-- broken cup holders, broken cup holder doors, broken vents, broken shade holders, etc. The splash shield under the engine compartment (made of plastic of course) fell off because of unreliable plastic fasteners. Door moldings fell off. The power sliding doors are finicky and have been in for service multiple times. The drivers side windows safety stops the window from rolling up after ordering at the drive-thru. The dashboard lights behind the overly complicated HVAC panel stopped working at about 5000 miles. The flip down seats in the back fail to reconnect to the floor when flipped back up. This leads to a very dangerous situation where a person sitting in them can be thrown backwards during hard acceleration or a rear end impact. The rear wheel bearings went out on both sides of the car at 50,000 miles-- $300 each. The power steering pump growled from day one and would fail to 'power assist' at inopportune times. It finally began leaking and had to be replaced. I'm not a big fan of the plastic lenses over the headlights that 'film-over' and have to be 'restored'-- a process that takes several hours. We ordered a Honda accessory cassette player that was installed by the dealer, but it has always looked like it didn't belong-- however, it works fine when we've used it. The extra cost luggage rack didn't come with crossbars-- but for the price it should have. And last but not least my beautiful blue minivan has paint flaking off all over it, which makes it look as pathetic as it has been all of its life. I know there are a lot of satisfied Odyssey owners out there-- we must have bought the lemon. I've owned 3 different Honda Accords and never had these kinds of issues with them.

I am VERY disappointed with my purchase..I bought a 2006 Odyssey touring edition fully loaded from the original owner who had it maintained 100% BY HONDA at their dealership per Honda recommendations. (i verified all of it and saw all the reports before i bought it) I bought it with 139K, transmission went out at 140K...there goes 6K+to fix it. Tried to get honda to help with repairs since its a WELL KNOWN occurance...of course they WILL NOT HELP, if your out of your 3/yr 36K warranty your screwed... Honda doesnt give a crap about their customers once out of warranty.... I even had to pay SHIPPING on the parts every time something needed to be fixed, screw you honda!
