Great truck with excellant power and styling. Kicks my friends Z71 Chevy with a 350 and gets better gas milage. Have had a few quality issues with the 4x4 transfer case, but Ford has been very reasonable about replacement and customer satisfaction. If I were to buy another I would get the super crew.

After spending the last 4 1/2 years without a pickup, it was time to retire the Jeep Cherokee (NEVER buy a Jeep). I bought the F-150 with the 5.4 litre Triton V-8 and absolutely love it! I pull a 5,000lb trailer about every other weekend in the summer, and this truck does it wonderfully. Most of my towing is high in the Colorado Rockies, and my normal driving is on the flat, eastern plains of Colorado. My F-150 does a wonderful job of both. Plenty of torque when I need it, with a smooth and comfortable ride. Gas mileage is typical for a full size 4x4. Growing up in ranch country, I can really appreciate a first class pickup, and this "fits the bill".

I had X plan and bought the truck because I saved $2500. The 5.4 triton is bad on gas mileage 12 to 15 mpg. When I put a 21 foot camper on it struggles on hills some. And gets very bad mileage; about 10 mpg. Will buy a GMC or a Dodge next time. They pull better. My 1994 GMC 1500 pulled my camper better than this Ford and got better mileage.

I PURCHASED MY F-150 IN 9-2002 AND IMMEDIATELY STARTED PULLING MY 7000 LB 5TH WHEEL CAMPER. THE FIRST TIME I HOOKED UP THE TRUCK HAD 80 MILES ON IT. I PULL THIS CAMPER ON AVERAGE 85 MILES TO MY FAVORITE CAMPGROUND. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH MY TRUCK IT HAS RAN AND PULLED FLAWLESSLY. I AVERAGE 18 MPG WHEN I JUST DRIVE AND ABOUT 13 WHEN PULLING MY FIFTH WHEEL. THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN PERFECT WITH PLENTY OF POWER, I HAVE NO PROBLEM RUNNING 75 MPH DOWN THE INTERSTATE WHILE TOWING CAMPER.

Quiet, reliable, solid performer. Best mileage I can achieve with the 5.4L is about 16 mpg. I tow a 4000# boat with no problem (12 mpg). 19,600 to date and no problems - "knock on wood."
