Only problem so far was the antenna had to be replaced. I've got 60000 miles and still using the same battery, engine coolant, tires and spark plugs. It has been mostly highway driving.

I have 240,0000 mi. On my 4runner. I replaced a few parts but saved money by doing my own repairs. Plenty of room inside for my gear and just enough power to tow my boat. Does well in the snow doesn't in the mud. Drive it hard and use it for commuting. Motor still runs smooth w/no oil leaks. I always loved the look of this generation.

I have owned my 4Runner for a little over 4 years now and am COMPLETELY satisfied. I must say it is a GREAT SUV to own. The reason why I purchased it was b/c of reliability and looks! I have taken mine off road numerous times in very difficult terrain and with the ground clearance and articulation this SUV has, it is awesome. I put an average of 25,000 miles a year on mine and it is running just as good at 100,000 miles as it was at 1,000 miles. I love it and would definitely buy another one!

Originally purchased to downsize from my p/u and get more interior room. Sought a Toyota for there good looks and excellent quality. My wife drives it primarily but I enjoy it also, although being 6'3" makes headroom a slight issue. Also bought because of the excellent resale value, but don't plan on selling it any time soon! Good MPG for SUV. We routinely get 19 MPG around town (V6)
