2006 Honda Odyssey LX 4dr Minivan (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
We previously owned a Dodge Caravan and the Odyssey blows it away in every way. It handles extremely well and is a dream on long road trips. Honda engineering is second to none and they have certainly listened to minivan ownwers with kids by incorporationg second row seats that move apart or together, second row windows that can be lowered and of course the stowable 3rd row seats. Fuel economy leaves a bit to be desired, and the price is a bit steep -- but you do get what you pay for. Other than that, we have been pleased so far.
Stowable 3rd row seats, in-floor storage, side windows that can be lowered, massive amounts of room, excellent handling
Fuel economy could be better A bit on the pricey side
2006 Honda Odyssey EX-L 4dr Minivan (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
We have owned Honda Accords before, and the Odyssey rides very similiarly. Now, the Accord rides smooth, but the Odyssey almost makes you think you are driving a smooth car, yet it's a fun to drive peppy minivan. The ergonomics of the interior are outstanding and the practibility are second to none. Spend the the extra few thousand dollars and buy quality versus anything else.
Interior design is very sassy, as well as the exterior styling. We opted for the EX-L which has all the bells and whistles except the overpriced DVD system. Smooth drivetrain. Foldable third row. Lazy susan storage unit in the floor.
Standard floor carpets leave a little to be desired. Other than that, I seriously cannot think of any.
2006 Honda Odyssey EX-L 4dr Minivan w/Entertainment (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
Have had my honda 2006 for 10 months. I have had to replace front brakes at 10,000 miles and the gas pedal had to also be replaced due to rattling and rubbing noises (metal against metal). They said it is the first time they have ever seen this. All in all we have really enjoyed this van. We upgraded from the 2003 because we were pleased with the quality of the first van.Road noise is still a problem and when the middle row windows are rolled down it sounds like a train going by at full speed. Hopefully, no other problems.
The drive is awesome
Better gas mileage, coin holder, and fan control for both passenger.
2006 Honda Odyssey EX 4dr Minivan (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
We absolutely LOOOOVE this van. The ride is smooth, quiet, and enjoyable. The quality is amazing. This is our first Honda and we couldn't be happier with it. In the past we have owned Toyota vehicles and the quality doesn't even compare with a Honda. We were almost sick that we almost bought the Sienna before looking at this van. Now, our kids (2 & 3) tell everyone they need a van like Mommy's.
2006 Honda Odyssey Touring 4dr Minivan w/Entertainment, Navigation (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
After 6 Chrysler vans we switched to our first Honda. The bad quality of the Chrysler vans and the good reputation of Honda caused the move. The extras are well done and the overall quality matched our expectations. But, the steering wheel is two inches closer to the dash than any other making seat adjustments difficult. I consider this an irritation not a major flaw. However, the real big problem is the PAX tire system. I would love to meet the engineers and management that approved it. The ride is hard due to extra thick sidewalls, you cannot replace the tires or rims with anything but the PAX type, and the cost is $250+ each just for the tire. This is going to kill the resale value.
Location and size of cupholders. Quality of materials used. Very good nav system.
Remove agreement screen on Nav system. Have small beep to indicate locks engaged (no horn). Completly abandon the PAX tire system. Add telescoping adjustment to steering collumn. Remove entry screen for Nav system and let it default directly to Nav. (hate to push button evey time I get in the car)
