Best, not an SUV
evilclown1962, 12/19/2010
2004 Toyota Land Cruiser 4WD 4dr SUV (4.7L 8cyl 5A)
If you purchase the Land Cruiser for its intended use it cannot be beat. For low maintenance and off road, on road ability it cannot be beat in the long run. It is not intended to be a grocery getter. All are built in Japan and intended to last 300k miles. They are shipped all over the world for tough off road conditions. Enjoy your Cruisers. I have owned 5 throughout the years. Do your … research and you will not be disappointed. Look at the vehicles diplomats are escorted in dangerous situations around the world and you will notice a large majority are the Cruisers.

Land Crusher for sand, mud, rain, and snow!
John from South Texas, 02/20/2020
2004 Toyota Land Cruiser 4WD 4dr SUV (4.7L 8cyl 5A)
The tank as my family of four use to reference. This is my second landcruiser with the first being a 1995 model that had a bad head gasket and overheated. My attempts to repair this unit with my local technician was to no avail. I purchased a used 2004 model and definitely enjoy the fact that it does not hydroplane on slick roads of ice, snow, and water when compared to other suvs - … i.e Mercedes G-Wagon, Tahoes, Suburbans, and Explorers (all 4x4). It is not the most fuel efficient SUV but in my 40 years of driving it has to be the best for overall activities of commuting, trips to the beach, and traveling through the mountains. The power and second added mode of transmission give it the extra boast for passing and climbing. The sound system needs to be replaced and the rear viewing camera is a bit cloudy. The rear AC and heating are a great service to my kids for added comfort. I have had to replace and/or repair a battery, wipers, air bag recall (free), hood supports, and tires (common wear and tear). It is a classy vehicle that still retains it appeal after 15 years. I did have to superglue my plastic covering over the luggage rack due to sun exposure. Recommend that you replace the front window rubber seal after years of replacing cracked window. I would not replace this landcrusher other than with another one! Cannot go wrong if you want reliability and durability and of course - safety!

Old Reliable
FREDRIC PALMIERI, 09/27/2007
2004 Toyota Land Cruiser 4WD 4dr SUV (4.7L 8cyl 5A)
Look anyone who owned or currently owns Landcruisers should be fairly well-versed with them. Everyone knows of their reliability & craftsmanship, areas where they are 2nd to none. No doubt they are huge and ponderous to drive and like any other large SUV are big boxes in the wind that return poor gas mileage. However, for pure reliability and comfort, toyota comes thru. This is a pricey … vehicle, no doubt, and you would expect memory seats and a more appointed interior, but a true toyota buyer does his homework thoroughly up front and knows their strength is in the fact that you will own this vehicle for years to come and when you move on, most likely your loyalty will remain with toyota

12 years and still going strong
Robert Kelly, 02/09/2019
2004 Toyota Land Cruiser 4WD 4dr SUV (4.7L 8cyl 5A)
I’ll probably never sell it. 32 valve V8, smooth sporty ride when you buy quality tires, reliable, full time all wheel drive is great in rain, mud, snow. Glad I bought it and still own it.
