Toyota Sienna's smooth ride
I have owned a Sienna for three years. I had owned a Sienna two cars ago. I'm glad I have returned to the Sienna as it is the most comfortable vehicle I have driven. The cargo room is outstanding. I considered an SUV, but I wanted room in the vehicle. All the SUVs had little room (even if you take the seats out) and big tires. I purchased the Sienna because it had around 145 sf3 whereas the SUVs were lucky to have 90. Given the cargo area, the Sienna was much more versatile.

2018 Sienna
This is our 3rd Sienna. They have been very reliable and useful. However, The 2018 is about the same as 2015 with safety features added. We used the 300# capacity roof rack on our 2004 but did not even buy the 170# shorter rack on the 2018 - this is a major downgrade for us. So far we see improvements in the seating flexibility and ease of changes. Overall quality seems good. Added safety features are mostly useless in our opinion. Automatic high beams and cruise control don't function below 20mph when we would really like to use them and both seem too sensitive reacting much too far from what they detect.

Sienna a Love Hate relationship
This was the third Toyota Sienna that we have owned all have had the same problem which finally became a deal breaker, Goodbye Sienna. The brakes on al three were of such poor quality and required replacing pads and rotors before 36000 miles. Sliding doors also were not operating properly, sticking and grinding. Toyota now has recall on sliding door issue but no repair as of yet. We loved the roominess, and ride quality of the van. Engine response was excellent but gas mileage at, 22mpg could have been better for a V-6 engine

THIS IS IT!
This is the only minivan you can get with All Wheel Drive. We LOVE it. It rides like my old Grand Marquis, but is actually a foot shorter. We have the Blizzard Pearl color and have had many compliments.

Power is 👍 - AWD works great - Thirsty!
We bought our Sienna XLE in 2020 and so far it has been wonderful. It’s a very compliant and comfortable ride for road trips with my wife and 2 daughters. With the V6 I’m actually really impressed with the power. I have no issues passing vehicles or getting up to speed. AWD in our Minnesota climate has been wonderful. Literally my only complaint is MPG. Wow this is a thirsty ride. We average 19 mpg on a 16ish gallon tank. What the heck Toyota!? The tank is way too small and I expected mileage in the mid 20’s. Just over 300 miles to the tank is annoying as I’m filling it up all the time. Overall a great van but be prepared to spend some money at the gas pump. Update 7/18/22. We still have the Sienna Van. Roughly 48,000 miles on it as of today. We still really like the Sienna van. I think it looks nice, is fairly quiet on the highway, and the A/C will freeze you if you want it too. I rode in my mother in laws Pacifica, and I will admit that those seats are more comfortable than the Sienna’s seats. Minor complaint. I still stand by my aforementioned comments regarding gas mileage. We recently took a trip about 400 miles round trip, and we got about 24 mpg which I can live with. The new body style Toyota Sienna is tempting, but we’ll likely own this Sienna for another couple of years. Overall, it’s been a great family van. Everything works on it with no breakdowns or trips to the dealer for anything besides routine service. Update 1/26/22. We have just over 55,000 miles on the van now. It’s still been great! Absolutely no mechanical issues or required maintenance besides oil changes and tire rotations. Still a comfortable reliable winter worthy machine with fantastic AWD.
