If you want good transportation this is a fine vehicle to buy. The handling is great and in-city mileage has been amazing. Hopefully the mileage will be good during the colder months. The vehicle handles nicely and is fun to drive. No, it isn't a race car but so what. It does a very nice job going from point A to point B. Some smallish points - headlights could be better as could the defroster and yes, the little engine takes a minute to warm up so my quick ride to work in the winter is cold. Took it out for a road trip to Maine and it did very well, holding the road and keeping up with traffic nicely.

I've owned 3 Nissans. 2 we've still got. Great vehicles. However the Versa has been one of the worst driing cars. It's laborious to drive long distance (a good in town car). In the rain, storms and even just during by large trucks it's a task to keep it in the road lanes, especially after 8-10 hours of driving or thru a 3 hour storm of heavy rain. And it seems every time I rent a car I get one....

Great Commuter Car

Second one we've had; our daughter was rear-ended in first one and while the car was totaled, she didn't have a scratch. Great for around town/commuting. Went in to buy a base version and this one was loaded with everything and had been used as a loaner vehicle for the service dept and they practically gave it to us. I considered it a disposable car, but love it and drive it more than our big SUV and Mustang. A bit noisy with just adequate acceleration, it fits anywhere you want to park it and is pretty nimble sneaking thru narrow & tight spots. And it's so small, there's plenty of room in garage to walk around it. We haul old ladies to church in the back seats; amazing room and super easy to get in and out of the car; they love it (maybe because of the spoiler and the looks). Smartest car purchase we have ever made.

If you have any possibility of driving this on an interstate don't buy it. The cvt transmission along with its under powered motor is death on wheels. With one passenger I took this as a rental for a week in Denver and almost got rear ended and driven off the road by a semi. It simply does not have enough power to accelerate out of dangerous situations.
