Very Disappointed
I was smitten with the Murano's good looks and equally good reputation. It hasn't lived up to my expectations. There is a rattling at the back of the vehicle (I think it's the liftgate) that the dealer hasn't been able to fix in two tries. There is also a buzzing sound that comes from the center control stack of instruments. This makes my new car a constant source of annoyance. There was an electrical problem with a window that was fixed on my first repair visit. I'd do anything to get out from under this car but it would be too expensive to do. I'm also not pleased with my mileage, just barely 18 mpg for hiway and city driving (about 50-50). Don't get suckered in by the sharp looks!
Great when you don't have to fix something.
We did not buy the technology package on this very expensive car for the additional $1500. You know stuff to let your Apple products and phones blue tooth etc. work. One year later this was standard equipment on a Ford Escort. I'm still mad that Nissan didn't just build this easy stuff into the car and instead was "Lets rip off customers for this tech". We are in California and the catalytic converter had issues. This was a pain, but the State had made Nissan provide extended coverage for the catalytic converter so this expensive repair was free. Yay (but it shouldn't have happened). Finally, just in the last 6 months the two driver's side door handles have become, floppy and useless. The repair is about $500 PER DOOR. It is is unreasonable and I believe a safety hazard if EMTs are trying to get at you and you can't open the door for them from the inside. Out come the Jaws of Life, and there goes the car. As seniors on a fixed income, a $1000 repair for both doors is almost incomprehensible. There is no factory assistance for what is likely a $100 repair at actual cost. BS Spent the $ to fix Three (3) door handles. Incredible that the Dealer ripped us off for the full book price and that there was NO Factory Assistance to fix this safety issue (12/2020)

Chicago Murano Owner
I used to drive a Volvo V70. I considered a Lexus RX, Acura RDX and Infiniti FX. This had the best combination of drivability (also fun to drive) and comfort. Unfortunately, its cargo area is smaller than other premium SUVs. Seating, however, is very comfortable for four or five adults. Good, confident handling with a firm, but smooth and quiet ride. Fast acceleration. It is easy to drive around the city; although, the gas mileage could be better. Road imperfections, including potholes, are well-handled. Terrific at high speeds on the highway, very stable with reasonable gas mileage. Speed-sensitive steering works very well.
Buyer beware
I will never buy another Nissan vehicle with cvt transmission. Had to replace the transmission at 117,000 miles which was past the 10 year/120,000 mild warranty. Too bad. I loved the car but can’t justify the expensive to replace a transmission just past 10 years.
