The design won me over, but.....

2017 GMC Acadia SLT-2 4dr SUV AWD (3.6L 6cyl 6A)
I was looking for a good size SUV after wanting something AWD when trading in my 2015 Kia Optima EX.... The Acadia All Terrain SLE2 won me over and I love the way it looks and drives. I bought the one with the bench rear seat and dual sunroof. The V6 has plenty of power and the AWD system is amazing, in my opinion. I feel very safe driving this. Now for the bad, after 6,000 miles I got … an error one day stating "Low Engine Power Mode"... immediately took it in and they replaced the electronic pedal system. Fixed the issue. A few miles later the driveshaft started making a ticking noise and got very loud after driving for a while, mainly over bumps and even the smallest ones it would make a noise... Not normal. The dealership replaced something due to a recall. Fixed the issue. Randomly the lights will all flash.. but since I can't duplicate it.. dealerships have no interest or idea what could have happened. The sunroof had to be realigned and still makes a cracking noise when closing and sometimes bounces back to open... I found water inside the rear glass when washing.. Today I get in after it had been raining all night and my passenger side has standing water... Brake plate on the driver side rattles like crazy.. I think this car had great "initial quality", but this will be my last GM product. I put 60,000 on my Kia from buying it new and not ONE problem.. $46,000 for this is way too much.... Too bad I can't trade it in since with 12,000 miles its worth about $20,000 less than what I paid for it.
Do not buy

2017 GMC Acadia SLT-2 4dr SUV AWD (3.6L 6cyl 6A)
Shift to park issue at 12,000 miles. Dealer fixed with a jumper harness. Now car has 22,000 miles and is 11 days out of the 3 year warranty and am having the same shift to park issue again. Smail GMC said the entire shifter assembly needs replaced because the jumper harness didn’t fix it. Cost is $620. GM is refusing to pay. No more GM products.
Love my Acadia

2017 GMC Acadia SLT-2 4dr SUV AWD (3.6L 6cyl 6A)
This is a great vehicle. Wanted power with V6 and got it. You want to know how to operate wipers etc? Read your manual! Or ask your dealer. I’ve read so many negative comments it makes me think the people have stock in foreign car companies or just dont know a fantastic vehicle when they are in one. Every vehicle has possibly minor problems-they are a mirage of mechanical parts. Fix it, … quit grumbling and get over it. Foreign cars are not immune to repair! Im so sick of comparisons to foreign junk. People only recall bad not good. I love my dual sunroof and yes it sits up high enough to see the road ahead better than most vehicles. Shall I say the bigger the truck the smaller the man? Ouch. Awd no prob on my hilly driveway or Michigan pothole roads in the winter! Love love love my heated seats-wonderful. Using your turn signal as you ALWAYS should-mirror alerts you to blind spots (always double check as well). Rear back up camera excellent visual. Push a button rear hatch opens. I have an app on my phone that starts the vehicle. Roof rack, fold back mirrors and a sleek look. I see many happy drivers on the roads! I am one of them! See me smile! Oh and for all who say support troops, support USA and buy American based and built. That means Ford and GM. Sorry ye old jeeps. (We cant control where all the parts are made but figure ALL the vehicles share many of them-thats why many recalls are across many brands). Thanks for allowing me to express my opinion. Safe and happy travels!
My best SUV ever.

2017 GMC Acadia SLT-2 4dr SUV AWD (3.6L 6cyl 6A)
I have had 7 SUVs, and this is the best ever. My gas mileage is better than predicted, almost 30 mpg for freewa thavel. Very smooth, quiet, comfortable ride. Styling good, not great. No service yet beyond oil changes and tire rotations.
Edmunds Summary Review of the 2017 GMC Acadia SLT-2 SUV
Pros & Cons
- Pro:Refined ride quality makes it comfortable in any kind of driving situation
- Pro:Excellent performance from the optional V6 engine
- Pro:Simple cabin layout means everything is usable at a glance
- Pro:Modern onboard technology keeps you connected
- Con:Even the priciest trim levels don't feel very luxurious
- Con:Third-row seats are now far less accommodating than in previous Acadia
Which Acadia does Edmunds recommend?
If you desire maximum passenger capacity and can do without some of the latest features offered on Acadia, the base SL trim has plenty of room and plenty of basic amenities. For a more full-featured vehicle, the SLE2 trim with the optional V6 engine and the Driver Alert package is a good place to start. Available options abound, but realize that when equipped, the price will quickly get into luxury SUV territory.

Driving
4.5A strong all-around performer, the Acadia is well suited to its mission as a comfortable, easy-to-drive family hauler. There is never a lack of power with the V6 engine, and the ride quality is well controlled over most roads. Strong, easy-to-modulate brakes round out its impressive capabilities.
Comfort
4.5The Acadia is a very comfortable vehicle for road trips or daily errands. The Acadia has soft, forgiving seats and a compliant suspension that smooths out most road imperfections. Road and wind noise is also kept well in check.
Interior
3.0The overall design of the interior is straightforward with easy-to-use controls. It feels more like a car from behind the wheel compared to some of its competitors, but outward visibility is about the same. Shorter drivers will appreciate its relatively low step-in height.
Utility
3.0There's a decent amount of space with the second row folded, but the 2017 Acadia isn't outstanding in any other areas. There's not an abundance of storage space up front, and the limited area behind the third row means you need to pack light.
Technology
4.5The touchscreen technology interface used in the Acadia is one of the easier systems to use at a glance. It favors the features you use most often, which is a plus. Bluetooth pairing is quick and easy.
