I was a little sceptical about owning
the 2000 Ford Focus SE (5spd Dohc), a
debute car, but so far it has proved me
wrong. Aside from the pesky recalls
and affordable maintenance the car has
been a very practical and fun ride.
Pros: It handles extremely well with
its independent suspension, has good
low end torque for quick pick up in low
gears and came adequately equiped with
features. Simple shifting and good
highway gas mileage.
Cons: Engine is noticebly loud and
cabin is noisy. There are long throws
that contributes to sometimes notchy
shifting. In high speeds (80+) car
experiences some shake. Traction and
ABS are terrible in poor weather
conditions. Would like larger
