Used 2008 Toyota Prius Consumer Reviews
Should have bought one earlier...
With gas around $4 it was definitely time to get a more fuel efficient car. The great thing is that we don't feel we're sacrificing anything in the way of comfort, ride, or handling. It is truly an enjoyable experience and we can't wait to see what the next generations of hybrids bring.
What a great CAR!
Oh man this car rocks. The only thing I don't like is the acceleration of the electric engine. You can only accelerate so much then boom gas. But still it could use like a 60hp electric engine instead of 40hp to give it more acceleration without using gas. It gets great mileage and we fill $41 at $4.22 a gal. Only about 9.75 gallons. This car rocks. Buy it NOW! The waiting lists are rising! Best hybrid yet!

Toyota Got This One Right
All parts and assembly in Japan. Great ride and solid feel. Sensitive to cross winds on the highway but otherwise very stable.
THREE MONTHS LATER
Now that we have three months of driving our new Prius, we really enjoy driving it. Have taken a few road trips and it has performed very well. The mileage keeps on improving and I think the reason is that we are adjusting our driving habits. Our second vehicle is a Toyota Avalon and at times we forget which vehicle we are riding in. Remarkable automobile and we just love it. We will wait for the new generation of Prius with its 100 mpg possibility.
Disappointed in fuel economy
I had a 2007 Prius which got 47 to 53 mpg. This car was totaled and I was so happy with the car itself and then definitely the safety features. I purchased a 2008 Prius and now only get 36 to 43 mpg. I have been to a local dealer to no avail and I am heading to the dealership where I bought the car today. Leaving on big road trip in September, I hope they can do something!!
