Boring and reliable ride
We bought new in late 2006 and put 214,000 miles on it with about $2000 in repairs . It recently started using a quart of oil every 1500 miles. It has the original brakes. The 12 volt battery lasted 8 yrs. it is a noisy and not real confident ride on the freeway but it keeps up fine. We get about 42 miles a gallon with steady driving and about 46 if there's traffic. Going over the Rockies on highway 70 we drop down to about 30 mph once the traction battery is depleted. We sold the car to our daughter and bought a Prius Prime.

Fun Driving
This is the first car I've owned in which I can control the fuel economy. I love the leather interior: it makes the car look luxurious. The modern styling is super cool. The optional JBL 6 CD stereo could be better; the sound quality is not that great.

orthless
Bought it initially due to high travel. The cheap wheels slipped on wet pavement and were jittery. Although I have had no mechanical issues with the vehicle, now that Toyota' reputation has gone down the crapper, I have a useless piece of crap to trade in or sell. I will not buy another Toyota based on the loss of value at trade-in. And that includes the Toyota dealerships. You are better served to look at other brands. Plain and simple, dont do it!
Disappointed in my Prius
Hybrid battery went out.. cheap plasticky parts..problems with buttons...trunk handle broke when ice came.... only 141000 miles... not that great nowadays. I'm renting a Kia forte and it matches the gas mileage with this vehicle....expensive navigation system 250 to upgrade DVD never did...front seats uncomfortable ... I got 216000 on my last car 98 Chevy cavalier. Wont buy another hybrid.
