A Real Review of the 2010 Corolla S

This car is a very good car only in the 5 Spd ... It is exactly what you would expect from Toyota. I have owned mine from 2010 till now 2017 with 157,000 Miles. The car has had no issues at all besides a cold start up rattle that toyota fixed under warranty at 90k. The Clutch is factory still, the calipers are factory, steering, wheel barrings and suspension components are factory. I have been regular with oil changes 5k on Conv / synthetic blend and never found shavings or nothing in the oil. Car doesn't burn a drop of coolant even at its high millage. Pro's of the car are, Handles well on dry roads with traction control off, does not hydroplane in wet weather with proper tires. I have yet to become stuck or in trouble on out Vermont winter roads with normal winter tires, no studs needed which is awesome for a FWD car. The fuel economy is quite nice, I get about 32-35mpg mixed driving and fairly aggressively with hills and turns ect. The trunk is actually quite big and every time I take it out of state on a trip im quite surprised what fits in the trunk. Lastly the safety of this car is out standing between being rear ended on the interstate and able to drive away or the time I was backed into rather hard in a parking lot and the car took it and kept going. Some Big CONS tho------- Its a Popular car so while you may pay 4,000-6,000 for a used one, a dealership mite give your 2,500 in a trade in, Car has NO power to speak off, if you want a small car with some zip, I would say upgrade to the XRS. The paint is chipped down to the primer all over the place, no rust just primer spots here and there. The stock radio sucks, had to upgrade speakers and head unit 3 weeks into owning the car, apline speakers and head unit made a huge difference. The doors when shut sound like cheep metal going clang and same with the hood. The rims for being alloys flake at the 1st sight of salt ect. In the end I wouldn't give up this car as it has costed me almost nothing to run, kept me and my kids safe, and has always been the reliable one out of the fleet. Toyota Honored the Corolla well

Being that this is my first car, I don't have much experience on owing other cars, but I can tell you that I truly love this sporty Corolla S! The exterior looks sharp with the alloy wheels, fog lights, spoiler; it completes the package! The black cloth interior with the super bright and sporty gauges are awesome! The black interior is much better then the tan LE cloth. The only thing I don't really like is where the digital clock is located. It really makes you take your eyes off the road. The engine has enough pep to get you moving; not crazy fast nor super slow. I have also been averaging 35mpg! Can't beat that! I would reccomend this vehicle to anyone! A great and reliable Toyota!

The 200k mile beast!!

My 2010 Corolla has 200k miles on it, no engine replacement or transmission work needed and I would drive this car from CA to NY w/o hesitation. Keep in mind that its a low entry level Toyota, not designed with extra frills (for this year) so do not expect brand new Lexus (or even Toyota) performance and comfort. At the end, a great, reliable, dependable car not to mention value! Sips gas and will ruin your relationship with your mechanic since you'll never see em! A real bang for your buck!

We bought this new from dealer. This is the best, most reliable car I've owned. Owned Thunderbird, Expedition, Civic, Toyota truck, Suburban. Best so far. Never been in shop for repairs. Always had synthetic oil. UPDATE: As of 10/14/2020, the car has 240,000 miles. No transmission problems, no A/C problems. I did have to give a tune-up and replace the radiator this week. Starts first time, runs like a Swiss watch. Only real bummer is the paint. It's too thin, I think. The front end has tons of little specks or holes, where the paint came off. (I live in a windy, sandy area). Other than that, I'm happy I bought my Silver Bullet. Runs like a more expensive car. Does 80-85 easily on freeway. Gets decent mileage, especially with K&N filter. The paint is the only negative. Very thin, gets scratched easily. Other than that, we've been very happy with it. Wife does not want to give it up. (I wanted to trade it in.) UPDATE: As of 10/12/2018, it now has 206K miles. Still has had no breakdowns, never been in shop other than for oil changes and maintenance. Very reliable vehicle that I use as my daily drive for my 60 mile round-trip commute. UPDATE: Last fall, I had to let the old girl go. She had 250K miles, and needed engine work. She was reliable to the end. The traction control and engine light came on, got fixed once but it came back. Sold it once lights came back on. I highly recommend Corollas to my friends and family.

I bought my Corolla back in October. I've had 30+ mpg since I bought it, which makes me really happy. Now that it's been warming up I've been getting an average of 32.8mpg. I'm happy with that. I actually test drove quite a few cars, and kinda was always telling myself my next car would be a Hyundai Elantra. I actually really liked the feel of this car when I drove it, so I bought this car. I was reading the consumer reviews of the new 2012 Elantra and real life mpg isn't any better than my car.
