Just bought a Subaru Forestor 2011 at 88k miles from Mccurley Honda Dealership in the Tri-Cities. After driving it for 1200miles, the engine started making a "clanking" sound. Took the car immediately into an autoshop and long behold there was no oil in the engine. I was still over 1000 miles away from needing an oil change according to the manufacturer sticker placed in the window. No oil light came on. Presented the problem to the Subaru Mccurley dealership and they performed an oil consumption test. It falied by 20.7oz which is twice the amount needed to fail. They stated I would need a whole new engine and would take care of it and contact my warranty and their brother dealership I purchased the SUV at. They did not give me a copy of the results. I had to go back in and request them, which they first stated they had no evidence of me being there. Spoke with the manager and she just had happened to have a hardf copy of it on her desk. Why it had not been updated in the system......? I have to put in 1qt every 1200 miles. After numerous attempts and voicemails to the dealership to see if a resolution had been made by Mccurley Subaru, I called my warranty and no claims had been made on my behalf. McCurley Subura never reached out to their brother dealership either. After the manager at McCurley Honda spoke with McCurley Subaru, I finally received a call back. Now McCurley was stating that only the short block would need to be replaced and that the manufactures would pay 60% of the $5k cost. Mind you, they only had my SUV for 30min and stated first that the whole engine needed to be replaced and that they would take care of it for me. McCurley is a DISHONEST company to work with that will send you running around trying to get answers in an attempt to come up with a plan that saves their ass and keep money in their pocket. To top it off, she began to tell me that oil consumption is a normal wear and tear......I dont have to be a mechanic to know that having to put 1-2qts of oil in your car every 1200 miles ....is NOT NORMAL WEAR and TEAR. I would stay away from this make and model all together and stay away from McCurley Integrity dealerships

It burns oil!!!!! My wife bought this new and we just had to have the engine rebuilt because it had no oil in it at the dealership recommended 7500 mile oil change!!!!! The dealership, with a straight face, tells us that 1 quart every 1500 miles is normal??? I have a 1995 Ford Bronco and it burns a quart every 6k miles. Why is it that an engine that is 19+ years old burns less oil than one 3 years old? How is this ok? How did this pass quality controll??? Why, why, why????? Pass these heaps over if you are wise! It is completely insane that a "modern" vehicle burns oil like its a vehicle from the 1970s, INSANE!!!!

This is my first subaru and first AWD car. I live in new england and i bought this car to be primarily a winter car in the snow since i have a backup corolla for summer drives on the cheap. So far we really like the car since it saved our rear ends from the brutal winter of 2011. Literally i could drive the car out of the two feet snow and salt bank in front of the driveway left by the snow plows. Then call the snow removal guy to come and clean the driveway while i am at work. Like others said the inside however is cheap plastic, not enough heat, square coffee cup holders, non adjustable passenger seats nned improvement. However i only paid $20,500 w alloy out the door and i am v frugal!

Granted I have the basic plain jane model, but I am not impressed with the design and would not purchase another Subaru based off this car. The main complaint I have is the heater, there does not seem to be much warm air when put in the feet/defrost setting and when you put in feet only you get more heat coming out of the vents facing the side windows then anything. As far as I can tell there are not heat vents in the back seat and I can not seem to get the car warm. Don't even want to get started on the sterero...or the middle console. Very dissapointed with this purchase and am upset with myself that I did not take more time when making this purchase. Should have gotten more for $23200

I've put 450 miles on this lovely 2.5X ltd. Everything looks great so far! Nimble handling. Nice exterior. Plenty of room. Comfortable leather seats. Blue tooth. USB port. the backup camera is a nice safety feature. What I like most is the new engine, which is a surprise. Being also a 07 outback owner, I had expected nothing more than a noisy and slow H4. But this one is totally different. The new design has made low speed acceleration quiet, smooth and effortless. Another highlight is the Yokohama tires. They work well on ice and snow. So, there's no need for snow tires. I expect many years of enjoyable and reliable ride in this car.
