@1000 miles
So far, truck is working out well. Minimal road noise for a pickup. Plenty of power. Steering tracks very good, especially at high speed. Seats firm and comfortable. Interior not well thought out. Too many cup holders that could have been used for storage compartments. Cheap plastic chrome exterior trim. 21+mpg mixed hwy/city. Overall, good value when compared to competition with similar equipment. Fun to drive.
Embarked on an (almost) new Frontier
I traded in a well-worn but very reliable 2003 Toyota Tundra base model with regular cab, 5-speed manual transmission and a 3.4 liter V6 engine. I'd badly injured my left foot in a falling accident and kicking the clutch was painful. I love Toyotas, but the price on the used Tacomas was too much for my budget. Enter a well-maintained 2014 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab with the SV package. While not as big as the Tundra, the Frontier was quite comfortable and its automatic transmission and cruise control were blessings to my injured left foot. I also found the Frontier tracked well in its lane rather than wandering the way my Tundra had. The only fault was in the limited rear view along the driver's side of the car via the door-mounted rearview mirror. After a few hair-raising moments I learned to lean forward and look back along the driver's side of the truck to watch out for traffic. Once I got used to that it wasn't a problem. I love the 4.0 liter V6 engine, which offers 60-plus more horsepower than I had in my Tundra. No more being left behind at the stop light by everybody else (including grandma). I bought the truck in December 2016 with just under 35,000 miles on it. I saved a good $8,000 to $9,000 compared to a new car. Do I see that as a great deal? Oh yes--Nissan trucks are made to last and I saved a lot more than I gave up by purchasing a late-model used pickup. The previous owners clearly maintained the vehicle well. Also, the built-in towing package is a plus as my wife and I--both in our 60s--are ready to trade tent-camping for the comforts of a trailer. The more I drive this truck, the more I like it. And while I would have preferred a gray-colored truck, the shiny black highlighted with chrome bumpers, sidesteps, etc., is definitely a "sexy" combination. I worried about going from Toyota to Nissan, but both companies make great vehicles. Like the old saying, "You pays your money and you takes your choice."

2013 SVV6 KC AT 2WD
This make's my 2nd Nissan Truck. Purchased New 7/3/13, so far so good. A very nice Truck, with lot's of power. So far I get 20.6MPG Averaged, in mixed driveing, which is about the same that I was getting with a '93 Nissan KC 4 cylinder AT 2WD that I had purchased New 20 year's before. No problem's after 2 year's as only vehicle. I looked at and drove them all. Came down to Tacoma, Siverado, But Nissan Frontier came out on top,, with Most Truck for the Money. UPDATE @ 3 Years: So far so good with no problem's. One advice that I can give, is to not put these Truck's in Mud, Water, or Rough Off Roading. I don't think these Truck's will stand up to that type of abuse. So Far I'm Pleased with this 2013 SVV6 KC AT 2WD Nissan Truck. UpDate 1/8/17: So far so good. It's the Best Truck so far, that I've ever owned. Just got a fillup and got 21mpg mixed driveing. Plenty of power to pull my utility trailer. Take's curve's better than the '93 Nissan Truck that I had previously. Truck is so Tight,, that it took about 8K Mile's to start limbering up. So Far no problem's, and so far, it is a very good truck for the money. If you get one, Stay out of the Mud, Water and any Rough Off Roading like some Dumb Punk's do that abuse their Truck's and don't care if their Truck will last and be dependable. UpDate @ 4 Years 7/9/17: So Far So Good. Still the Best Truck so far that I've ever owned. Am Averageing 20.4 MPG. Steering was very tight in the beginning,, but limbering up nicely at almost 10 K Mile's. Much better to be too tight than too loose. Get you one now,, before this 2nd Generation Frontier is upgraded with a New Style Model, and enjoy saveing Money. When the New Style Model come's out,, they'll have to pay for the New Style Cost's,, and they will cost you more. Don't Put it in the Mud, Water, and Severe Offroading, Like Some Dumb Punk's do, if You Want Your Truck to Last and Be Dependable. Remember this; Marketing show's Severe Activitie's,, which a Pickup Truck is not intended for. Remember those Commercial's showing Truck's Pulling Tree Stump's Out Of The Ground. Don't be a Dumbo; A Big 4 Wheel Drive Tractor can't even do that without first haveing to dig the Stump out with a Backhoe or Pushed over with a Bull Dozer before the Tree is Cut Off. These are not Heavy Duty Truck's,, but if used according to the Owner's Manual, ie Transporting People, Cargo, and Pulling a Trailer within the Maximum Tow Rateing,, then I think that these Truck's will last a long time. If you want the Paint to stay Nice and Shiney, use Meguiar's #6 Mirror Glaze Professional Cleaner/Polish/Wax Regularly. Save Money and Get You One before the New Style Model come's out. **UpDate @ 4.5 years** 1/12/18 So far so good. No problem's. Motor run's smooth. Average MPG is 20.4 mpg. Still on original battery. So far no oil consumption. Engine seem's to like midgrade gas better than Regular Grade. My advice is keep them out of the Mud and Water. If you want Mud and Water get a Jeep or a Tractor. Use the Nissan Truck's for their intended Purpose, Transportation, Hauling Cargo, and Pulling a Trailer within their Rated Range, if you want them to last. Don't get suckered into Rock Climbing and other OffRoad activitie's that will do your truck in, and don't buy one that has been abused by Mud, Water, Rock Climbing and Other OffRoad Activitie's cause you'll be buying a messed up Nissan Truck. A Nissan Truck is the Least Expensive Truck that's available New,, and there are Many Punk's out there that buy them to Abuse them because they are the Least Expensive New Truck, then they get rid of them after the Warranty Run's Out. Don't buy a Punk Driven Truck of any Brand.

Good value, & for it's size, will tow/carry well.
My 2014 was bought used. It was in service for a year and a half with 16,000 miles on it. Now on the road for three and a half years with 32,000 miles on it. It has run flawless. Only complaint, was vibration at idle. Dealer did a search for tech bulletin for vibration issue. Dealer found that the exhaust center pipe was redesigned on 2016 Frontier to help eliminate vibration. Dealer used the new designed center pipe on my 2014. Replaced at no charge. It helped but still has some vibration at idle, but not bad. The new pipe has a solid rubber, soup can sized block attached to the side of the center pipe to absorb some vibration. Crazy design, but it helps to eliminate about 75% of the idle vibration. The Frontier replaced my 2001 Ford Ranger. The ranger had more comfortable seats but the Frontier is still good regarding comfort ride and handling. UPDATE - - - Now in service just over five years with 42,000 miles. I have had zero issues from day one. It still runs, drives and looks like brand new.

So far...so good
Traded my F150 for the Frontier due to size considerations. I just don't need a full size truck 365 days a year. Maybe twice a year but that's about it. I have about 1500 miles on the Fronty, like the size, styling and acceleration. MPG is only about 16.5 mpg with 75% highway driving. So it's averaging about 1.5 less than my 2wd F150 with a V6. But the engine is still breaking in so hopefully the mileage will increase. More engine noise in the cabin than the F150 but it's not bad. F150 seats were/are way better than the Frontier. The Frontier seats need more thigh support and longer seat bottom.
First Mid-sized and Happy
I've always owned full size Chevy or Dodge p/ups. Now that kids are moved on it was time to downsize. I needed to still have the pulling power to haul a trailer and car, as well as true 4wd (not AWD) capabilities. Looked at the Honda (no locking 4wd over certian speeds) and Toyota (less towing, HP and MPG) and settled for the Nissan. I'm very happy with my choice. Recently towed a Boxter hour and half and couldn't have been happier. The truck towed without hesitation. The power was more than adequate and the ride was great. I hear complaints of fuel mileage but coming from a full size I'm used to it. Currently averaging 17 around town but reached 24 on my last highway trip to Charlotte.
Best Value in the Small Truck Segment
Purchased our Frontier about a week ago. Very pleased so far. Ours also has the Value package which includes the bed track system, backup camera and automatic a/c. V6 is smooth and powerful, with excellent acceleration. Interior is comfortable, and feels roomier than the new Colorado. Materials are nice and have quality feel. We like the fold up rear seats, which provide a flat floor with the removable storage bins. Storage in the backseat of the Colorado is not removable. Utility track system is well designed and included spray on bed liner-an excellent value. Comparably equipped Chevy would be much more expensive, and the Frontier has a proven record of reliability.
FRONTIER PRO 4X KING CAB
It doesn't bother me that this truck has been mostly unchanged for over a decade. I bought a used Pro 4x about two years ago and have been happy with this truck. I don't trust new designs over tried and proven ones like this. I like the white faced gauge cluster, the simple layout of the controls, heated seats, hill descent control, locking Dana differential , rear sensors/camera, skid plates, good ground clearance, naturally aspirated, no stop/start, a key to start it, decent splash guards, a stiff boxed frame...basically it's old school and has what matters. It rides and feels like a truck, not an suv. I like the easy maintenance on it. Easy access underneath to everything. I've done all my oil changes and easily handled ALL the other fluids, including the transfer case and rear axle (there are videos on each of these things). This saved me a lot of money, improved performance and will make the truck last longer, because fluids wear out, none of that lifetime fluid stuff! It's performance is good and I really feel the low first gear and higher torque. Mileage is ok, I get just over 17 mpg combined and 20+ on hwy with easy driving. There are no annoying rattles or noises inside or outside. It handles severe weather in stride with it's locking rear differential and good clearance. I don't always agree with how the transmission favors shifting into higher gear a bit too soon, or it's gear spacing, but it gets the job done. Overall, I am very satisfied with the Frontier and think it is a great value for what it has to offer. I like it more than the others. I would recommend it to the right person who doesn't care about buying the latest, 'coolest' or newest truck and just wants a good solid performer. All it needs is to go on a diet with a few minor upgrades here and there, without too many major changes.

Transmission No gears
I have a 2014 Frontier at 32000 miles transmission started to slip within five miles no transmission. Forward and reverse gone. You could smell the clutch a mile away. I hadn't shifted in 5 miles. Towed vehicle to dealership where I bought truck I have extended warranty as well. 1689.99 later clutch flywheel pressure plate throw out bearing all replaced. 1000 miles after repairs I could feel the clutch was already wearing. Service director wanted me to test drive him and show issues I was now having, Heat plate rattle, grinding fourth gear clutch already wearing out and lets not forget the crease in the passenger door, Service director thanked me for knowing how to drive a stick. Gee only 30 years driving one. Now its in the shop see what they say this time. 1 year and already 1700 maintenance for an issue that wasn't my fault! Is it the hydraulic system to clutch? Yesterday another 2014 coasts into gas station 27000 No transmission clutch smell months later a new clutch flywheel. Then rebuilt transmission back at mossy Nissan for pressure plate and throw out bearing. Just over 40k.

Excellent small pickup truck
The Pro-4x has the most comfortable seats of all the Frontier models as the result of a manual 10 way adjustable seat. The only major drawback is the fuel mileage. The vehicle sticker should read 14 - 18 mpg which is what I experienced. Still, in my opinion, of the small pickup trucks available, it the only one that I would recommend. It is extremely good off road and in snow storms. The reliability is outstanding.

This is a Powerful, Reliable Truck
This is the second Frontier I have owned. I have owned the Tacoma as well. They are both reliable and relatively powerful. The Frontier is more powerful than the Tacoma, at the cost of fuel efficiency. Value wise, the Frontier has an advantage for me. The difference in my experience is approximately 20% - a Tacoma equal to the Frontier in features will cost 20% more. If you choose the Frontier, you sacrifice 1-2 mpg, comfort in the rear seat, ground clearance, and a modern looking interior. I bought the SL model with leather seats, a moon roof, automatic headlights, upgraded sound, and navigation. BTW....the Rockford Fosgate sound system in the Nissan is the best I have owned. The sound is so good at loud volume. Regarding the ground clearance, I spent $1000 on a Bilstein suspension system to level lift the truck. It looks great - the stance is much more appealing and the ride is better. The truck now has a stance like the Tacoma. Off road, it performs very well, although I have not been challenged by conditions that would require skid plates. Those can be added, though, if I ever find time to do serious off roading.

So-far-so-good
This replaced my 2000 4x2 Frontier (I got from a friend after he adopted 2 kids and needed a vehicle that could hold multiple car seats :-) That truck ran great, good mileage, relatively low maintenance costs (except for the leaky fuel pump at 100k that cost $1100 to fix). After 800 miles, performance is very good (I'm not used to this much power), gas mileage as expected (4x4 not a winner there), comfort is good, interior features are generally good. Overall quite satisfied.
Great truck!
I had a 2004 Frontier king cab. It was spartan and handled kind of rough, but the thing was a tank and I had very little problems with it. I traded it in at a 170k miles. Having kids I knew I needed more of an actual back seat, I got a used 2014 Frontiet sv trim line crew cab. So far I love it! The V6 engine has great "gitty-up" and power. It's handling/turning may not be its strong suit, but it's a truck, not a sports car. Not sure this is most truck's strong suits. Overall I love the look of truck, sporty and brawny, while maintaining some refinement. Understand that this is a mid-size vehicle, so there are lots of bigger trucks with way more cargo and back seat space. But not wanting a school bus sized vehicle for a truck, this is a perfect size. Certainly if you do lots of hauling, especially heavy duty, look elsewhere. But for around town with some hauling, this truck fits the bill. Also some people knock the mpg, but again, it's a truck!

Love This Truck
This is another winner from Nissan. After owning a used 1993 Hardbody D21,I was determined to upgrade to a crew cab Nissan Frontier (my Hardbody smoked my old Toyota, with way better off road performance). This truck even impressed my wife, who hated my old Toyota, with comfortable seating (we're short people),logical controls, and especially visiblity. The model we bought lacks power windows and power door locks, but after our hunting trip to eastern Oregon,in which we locked ourself out a couple of times in the Chevy,I can do without such conveniences.Be prepared to battle the dealerships, who will way overprice these popular trucks.Arm yourself with Internet knowledge and roll up your sleeves and be prepared for a three hour ordeal. We got close to our target price. We love this truck.I added a receiver hitch, that required no drilling of the frame (WOW) to mount.Update:so far a great little truck, absolutely no problems, and does everything we expected.Update:No issues solid reliable pickup.

Nissan Frontier - Great Small Truck
5 sp auto trans is always trying to upshift to increase gas mileage when it might be more appropriate to remain in the lower gear a little while longer. Always tries to maintain an rpm of about 1000.

So far so good
Owned this truck 5 months. Took 5 months to learn you have to lock out OD if driving around town, otherwise constantly shifting up and down and will drive you crazy. Owners manual states this. Didn't see the OD button on the shifter for 5 months. Towed a u-haul trailer cross country with little effort. Like the power windows, locks and cruise control. Climate control works well. No transmission dipstick. Don't like that. Engine oil dipstick has too many bends and twists. Hard to get accurate reading. Accessing oil filter is a pain too. Plenty of power with the V-6. Overall happy with truck. Bought from a dealer for $14000 with 96k miles. Now has little over 100k. Likes gasoline.

It's a real work truck and I traded it
I just purchased my 4th Nissan Frontier. I traded in a Nissan D21 that I had for 25 years. My 2013 is a 4 cylinder, 5 speed, S model King Cab. It was priced about $3000 below a similar Toyota Tacoma. The truck has crank windows, no power locks, and no Bluetooth. The first tank of gas I got almost 28 mpg in city and rural driving. On the second tank full I got 25 mpg. The secret is to shift around 2200 rpm. The truck is clunky and dated and simple transportation. For every 100 miles I drive this Frontier I save about $8 over the Tundra parked next to it in fuel costs. UPDATE: My real work truck developed a cab leak and filled with water. The passenger side of the cab was never sealed from the factory. I purchased a new 2015 Frontier SV 4x4 crew cab and traded in the 2013 as after the leak the smell never went away. MY ADVICE, before buying check carefully the seams of the cab to be sure they are fully factory sealed. UPDATE: The manual transmission in the end proved to be too much shifting in Seattle traffic. The 2013 Frontier was traded for a new (2015) Frontier SV CC with an automatic transmission. The mileage on the new Frontier isn't as good as the 2013 S model Frontier but in traffic, mostly sitting, the automatic is great. In retrospect, looking back on the 2013 purchase, I should have bought the 4 cyclinder S model Frontier with an automatic transmission. My mistake. UPDATE: The 2015 Frontier SV went into the dealer for the 14000 mile service. One of the items was "replace cabin filter". After the cabin filter was replaced I asked to see the old filter. I was told it didn't have one installed from the factory. So in summary : truck one the, 2013 Frontier S, didn't have the cab sealed from the factory.; truck two, 2015 Frontier SV, didn't have the cabin filter installed. It really makes me wonder about Nissan quality control.

I love this truck!
I owned a Tacoma TRD crew cab and while I enjoyed the truck, I didn't enjoy paying for it. A few years later, I find myself in the market for another vehicle, so I gave the 2014 Frontier SV 4x4 a try... and it's every bit as great as the Tacoma, minus the sticker shock. It handles great, rides smooth as one can reasonably expect a 4x4 pickup to (takes potholes in Northern Virginia like a champ), has a lot of get-up-and-go, and the interior is even more comfortable than my Tacoma was. I'm looking forward to owning this truck for many, many years. Update: I was sitting at a red light when a guy (in another Nissan Frontier, no less) rear ended me at 50+ mph without even hitting his brakes. Needless to say, my Frontier didn't survive, but I got out of it with nothing more than a little whiplash and a mild concussion. Up to that point, I was still really enjoying the truck and I can finally say that the safety, with regard to rear impacts, is pretty good.

Cheap to buy, cheap to own
I bought this to tow our 3,500 lb Casita travel trailer. We added a Leer Cap. We have a 2013 crew cab SV with 4.0 2WD and 5-speed auto. The 265 HP is more than adequate and beats our old BMW X5 3.0 by at least 30 HP. Steering at highway speeds is vague and it wanders, but I noticed the tires are wearing on the inside and I believe the factory set the front-end with too much toe-out. The headlight aim needs adjusting, too. The sterro is OK, but the iPod starts by itself sometimes for no reason. We added add-a-leaf springs to the back for towing, as it sagged a bit when loaded. Overall, it was about what I expected for a $25,000 vehicle.
Frontier of my discontent
Engine idles rough , lot of vibration . Front seat rattles ,dealer repaired , still rattles. Climate control difficult to regulate . Slow to warm in the winter. Wanders from side to side , loud when driving .

Worth it!!!
This is my 2nd frontier, my first was a 2005 cc LE it was rock solid, now I have a 2013 pro 4 x that has been a fantastic truck.I am confident if you hooked this truck bumper to bumper, I can drag your Colorado/canyon and ranger all over the parking lot- Underrated!! UPDATE: This has been one of the most solid built reliable vehicles I’ve owned, and after more than 10 years of the same engine and transmission setup, IT SHOULD BE, if you haven’t got the bugs worked out after this long manufacturing the same product, maybe you should go sell pie, do urself a favor…. Go test drive one, and compare it to the ithers
AWESOME small truck!!
This is my very first light weight truck and I will tell you I love the way it handles and I drive manual so the 6 speed if great, fast pick up in speed, great to take out on the trail. This truck out shines all the GMC light weight and Chevys light weight is how well made it is nothing cheap on the Frontier. Looking very forward to many years with this truck. Well worth what I paid.
didn't due enough homework
This not the vehicle drive if windy out, body material cheap sheet metal, paint fading and rub off at drivers side door panel Less than 1 year old and foam rubber seal around doors already splitting wide open, Haven't used radio since 4 months old speakers sound awful, affects Bluetooth as well can't understand caller Interior plastic or vinyl scraches too easy pernament scuffs marks just from work boots only 2 weeks old and notice blemishes on back plastic bed wall, although its not possible looks like sun damage, Supension awful over loads is not cable of 5000 lb trailering like suggested in vehicle specifications, Leaf spring shackle 1/2 inch bolt reduced to 1/4 inch for nut broke resulting loss of both leaf springs within 4000 miles. Engine while driving is always shifting gears and speeding up on its own. Napoleon of Rivera Beach Fl. and Nissan have never stood behind bumper to bumper warrantee I have a commercail A license and have driven every type of vehicle you can think of tractor trailer to bucket trucks,. Since the Dealer and Nissan Motor Corporation never stood by their factory warranty, I would and never will suggest anyone but Nissan.

A Jaunty Truck
Purchased new, currently at 16 months and 13,000 miles. The size of the KC truck is ideal for my purposes; roomy enough to accommodate two people (good sized) with luggage inside. Its dimensions are not too big to handle todays traffic and parking situations, but are large enough to provide a comfortable ride. I wish it were quieter but will try to improve this area with future tire selection. I prefer the Frontiers more upright chair-like seating position over the Tacoma (the only other truck I considered).
It loves gas!
Bought this as a more cost effective and less 'garage filling' replacement for my 2000 Silverado. Interior fit and finish is great, good visibility and lots of power. A/C works well which is appreciated in TX. Cons: this truck gets 16.5 MPG city and about 20.5 highway - way less than my old 4.8 L Silverado which got 19.5/23 over 170K miles with a larger and more powerful engine. The Frontier is a miserable highway truck as you have to compensate for every little wind gust and it will hydroplane easily compared to the other trucks I have owned. There is also a 'clunk' in the driveline which I have noted in not only my but other Frontiers when taking off from a stop. Still, it is a good value for an 'in town hauler' if you do not need a longer 6' bed.

Great truck!
I am impressed with the off road capabilities and winter driving capabilities, this truck has great traction in all road conditions and is very capable off road. The Bilstein shocks give this truck a very soft ride for daily driving and can soak up the bumps and dips off road like a champ! My complaints with the vehicle are body integrity with sqeaks and rattles, in the door and random noises here and there., the engine vibrates excessively at idle. Over all I do like the truck... The dealer service is fair, although when I have had recalls on vehicle, I have scheduled an appointment for repair I get to the dealer and they tell me they cannot repair it??? That is very frustrating, so I have 3 open recalls on the truck, little things mind you but, just tell me before i get there you cannot fix them. SMH.

Rugged and Reliable
I had this truck for about 7 mths now. Bought new. It is a rugged little truck. I say little even though it's consider as a mid size truck. On the out side it gives the illusion that it's has a roomer interior. Nissan could have made it a few in wider and added a few in of leg room for back seat passengers. 1 week after having the truck I exp. a loud clanking noise during start ups, and while driving until the engine warmed up. The dealer tried to tell me it was normal but turn out to be a loose cooling fan. Now my driver's side window makes scraping noise when the window is let up or down. Looks like I need a new regulator. Other than that it's a great truck, but with bad gas mileage.
Good Truck if your back can handle the seats.
I bought the 2014 SV Crew Cab in 2017 it had 15,000 miles on it. Now over 2 years later it’s at 52,000. I wanted a Tacoma but the frontier was cheaper. THE SEATS ARE SO UNCOMFORTABLE, and the heater takes awhile to get warm. The AC works well however you will freeze in the front seats just trying to help the passengers in the back seats not have a heat stroke, so that’s very uncomfortable for all. I do like the tinted windows also I Love the sliding bed extender and tie downs!! I use it a lot with kayaks, bikes, lawnmowers, washers, dryers taking trash to the dump or even just securing my cooler or small stuff. Now I would never want to buy a truck without the sliding extender and tie downs! I drive about 50 miles round trip 5 days a week to work, Highway the whole way. I have never had to have any repairs. I have taken two trips both about 7-8 hours each way. My husband said this truck will last me the rest of my life the way I drive (yes I drive like a granny). The seats are so uncomfortable that I walk like a granny after the pain of sitting in the seats. I never liked the body style (maybe it just reminds me too much of the little security guards truck) or maybe I just like the Tacoma’s body style so much better. I haven’t towed any trailers yet and I don’t track the gas mileage so I can’t give a review for that. I bought fake leather seats from Wal-Mart.com as soon as I bought the truck and they match perfectly and look great, it just takes a little while for the weird fake leather smell to go away.

Not a bad midsize truck
This vehicle is a little uncomfortable after 100 miles of highway driving. Very stiff ride on local roads. Very wide turning radius for this size truck. Gas miles overall was about 18 mpg. UPDATE 1.26.2020 Sold the Nissan and purchased a 2019 Honda Ridgeline

Manual midsizes, a lonely club
I chose the Frontier over the Tacoma, because the Frontier is 5% smaller but with a larger bed, and a larger engine with better economy. It's also noticeably a few years fresher in design. I got the temporarily-discontinued PRO-4X with 6sp manual, which had to be shipped from Oregon to Nebraska. The 6sp is a lot of fun, but the reverse gear is hard to find and should have been to the left like German autos. The tailgate extender is nice because it's easy to remove. The bed divider is functional but a bit obnoxious in that it's not an easy one-side affair to move or get out of the way. Love the step rails and tie anchors. The ambient temperature sensor is occasionally disfuntional and I had an oil leak fixed in a gearbox plug. It's economy is disappointing, but I think he'll last me until electric trucks come out.

Done with Nissan
I purchased my 2014 Nissan Frontier Pro 4x brand new 01/11/14. I have 53,567 miles on it already and will tell you this, never buy Nissan! on board computer-junk, locks up, loses connection with my phone, and the whole "pay attention to the road" sign could not be more irritating! I drive mostly highway, on cruise control...I have NEVER seen 21 MPG EVER!! The most important factor in selecting this vehical. They somehow neglect to inform you when you purchase the truck of all the mileage related "maintenance" that needs performed. In the 15 months I have owned the truck the dealers have soaked me for over $2000.00!! REALLY!!? I still need tires! I now have 110000 on the truck. The computer is still junk, and they want $150 to upgrade the map. I haven't gotten the 100000 maintenance yet and my wallet is terrified. The serpentine belt is squealing quite loudly, and with all the internal fluids that will I'm sure "need changed" I have no doubt a $1000+ bill is in my future. I put a 3" lift and 33" tires on the truck. With the bad, I will say the good; I can't get it stuck. I also highly suggest a cold air intake system, it really helped increase power.

Maybe could be better on fuel. Off road the Pro4x is alright. Jeep wrangler is better. But for the most part not a bad truck

Desert Runner owner four years
After my 2012 Frontier SV was totaled in 2013, I bought a new 2013 Frontier Desert Runner in Knight Armour color. My 2012 protected me well in the crash when I was rear ended and pushed into cars in front of me. Nissan Frontiers in their current configuration are a dated platform. Their last major redesign was in 2004. However, Nissan has worked out the bugs and they are very reliable. I never had a single issue with mine. I drove it hard at work, averaging about 15,000 miles per year mixed driving. The truck was fairly comfortable. Visibility was good - the back seat headrests do block some to the rear. It did not have a backup camera. Interior noise was slightly on the loud side with wind, tire hum (I had all terrain tires), and nice exhaust tone being prevelant. It is an old school truck so I didn't expect car like comfort. My complaints are that it had a very wide turning radius. Tight parking lots were a chore. The brake feel was squashy even when new. Fuel economy was poor. I averaged 18.8 mpg, partly because of the all terrain tires. My friend got a new F150 and was kicking my butt on fuel economy. The Frontier had good power and acceleration however. I towed a light trailer with it some and it pulled great. I traded the Frontier recently for a 2017 Tacoma. I would have considered another Nissan, but there is almost no difference between the 2017 Frontiers as the 2012 I had. The Tacoma has updated features and better fuel economy. Overall I would recommend Nissan Frontier for anyone needing a no frills truck. I still like the styling of them and you get a tough truck for the money.

Great Truck
I bought this truck new in Oct. 2013 and have not put a dime into it other then tires and oil changes. Great power and very reliable. The only downside is the interior is cheap plastic and the glove box handle broke because of the very cheap plastic material and Nissan wants 300 to fix it other than that great truck.

Best bang for my buck!
I bought this to replace my 2013 Silverado ext cab. It is as long as most full-size trucks. I love the handling. I used it to move my mother 550 miles away to SC. Even hauled her shed. Plenty of room in the cab. I like the full four doors. I have a 6-foot bed. It has more than enough room. Very happy with my truck. I can't wait to see the new Frontier next year.

Lots of pep@1600 miles
So far I like it. Toyota 2wd sat low. Rear seats are better than Toyota too. Love the blue metallic exterior color. Too new and too early to review gas mileage. Think it will be fine. Does not seem to be thirsty. 3rd Nissan truck I've owned. First crew cab, with V6 5A. When I'm not driving my Nissan truck, I'm a driving a FedEx truck. My Nissan Frontier handles well at highway and interstates, no problems.
turning
The turning ratio on this truck is the pits! Cant believe Nissan did not do a better job takes at least two or more backups just to get in a parking place and backing up is just as bad. We drove the truck before buying but did not realize this problem, Nissan again, I don't know>

Great Mid-Sized Truck
Expect to pay more for this vehicle, new or used. But for the money you get an excellent truck both in handling and in re-sale value. Bought a 2007 Frontier and just traded up to a 2013.

Love it, would buy it again!
I bought this truck new in August 2013. I have no complaints at all. It only has 34000 miles and I am easy on a vehicle but it still looks and performs like new. I have had no major repairs.

2013 FRONTIER SVV6 KC AT 2WD
***UpDate*** 11/2/20 Bought this Truck Brand New 7/3/13. So far so good. Almost 16K Mile's and No problem's so far. Everything is still Tight, Transmission Shift's Good, & Engine nice and Quiet. I've alway's used a Geniune Nissan Oil Filter and with these Truck's that's what I recommend, as well as changing the oil at the recommended interval even if useing Full Synthetic Oil. If you are looking at a used one, if the engine is knocking or Rattleing,, they probably didn't use a Nissan Oil Filter and/or it was Abused by a Younger Driver. Alway's stay within the Load and Tow Weight Maximum's as well as the Maximum Frontal Area and You should be ok. Take it out of OverDrive if Transmission is Hunting for Gear's. Get a Scangauge II to monitor the Auto Transmission Fluid Temperature so that you'll get an accurate Fluid Level Check @ 149F Degree's useing the Hot Range on the Dip Stick. If not abused these truck's last a long long time,, so put some cheap Neoprene seat cover's on to help the seat material last as long as possible. 2019 was the last year for the 4 Liter 5 spd at or 6 spd mt. 2020 went to 9 spd at with the 3.8 Liter. ***UpDate*** 8/30/19 Bought this Truck New 7/3/13. So far so good. A little over 14 K mile's, Motor is running good, smooth, and quiet, Auto Transmission no problem so far, Average MPG 20.4 . The rear axle ratio is 2.937 so that explain's why the KC 2wd get much better mileage than the Crew Cab's and 4X4's. Those 4X4 Guy's Whine all the time about their MPG and They don't have No Clue. It's the Rear Axle Ratio Dumb Ass's. :) IMO These are Light Duty Truck's, and not meant for Mud, Water, Rock Climbing and other Punk Wheeling Abuse, if YOU want them to last. If You want Mud, Water, Rock's, and Punk Wheeling ~ Get a Jeep, 4 Wheeler, or Tractor. :) I broke mine in following Nissan's Advice in the Owner's Manual and so far doesn't use any Oil. I'm really glad that I got the KC for the Full Length 6 Ft Bed, that is more important to me than Hauling Free Loader's. :) I had a 1993 Nissan Hardbody KC 4 cyl AT 2wd before, that I also bought New and drove it for 20 year's prior to this 2013. Time will tell if the Frontier is as good as the Hardbody, but the Frontier has a lot more power and I needed more pulling power for Utility Trailer's. These are the Cheapest New Pickup's, and Many Punk's buy them to Abuse them and then Trade them in at the end of the Warranty. So BeWare & don't buy a Punk Driven Truck of Any Brand. The 3rd Generation is coming soon, so get a New 2nd Generation Frontier before the New Model come's out. When the 3rd Generation Frontier hit's the Dealer's,, There will be a Stampede to Snatch Up the Remaining New 2nd Generation Frontier's. Many will be buying them even if they don't need a Pickup. ***Update 5/30/22*** With almost 17K Mile's so far so good. No Problem's so far. I try to do all the Preventative Maintenance on time as Advised in the Maintenance Manual. I don't think these Truck's will stand up to Abuse as so many get them for. Many also don't do the Preventative Maintenance @ the Prescribed Interval's, Have Trouble's and Wonder Why. Don't wait till 100K Mile's and Start thinking about doing the Preventative Maintenance; It's got to be done on time from the Get Go is my advice. **Update 11/11/23** Mileage 19723 So Far So Good, but only 10 year's old. Won't know Till 20 or 30 year's old. Engine is Still Quiet, No Oil Usage, Transmission Shift's Smooth, Ride's Smooth, Cabin is Quiet, No Vibration's, Still Averageing a little over 20 mpg with the 2.937 Rear Axle Ratio. So Far So Good.. I've Read where one person posted he reached 400K on his '15 Gen2 Frontier V6 with the VQ40DE Engine, So That's encouraging the Engine Can Last if Taken Care of.. Hope This Review Help's You.

No regrets
Bought this brand new in 2013, and it's still running perfect. I do lots of highway driving, and at 110,000 miles plus, it's been flawless. I've just done the maintenance with typical oil/gear oil/tire rotations. For my lifestyle it's great - it tows 5,000 lbs plus which is enough for me, gas mileage is decent, got the bed liner with the rails and cleats, and got extra space to haul my outdoor gear. Truck was great value for buying less than $30,000 brand new and all the amenities it came with. It's done it's job and more. Granted, not a Tacoma but perhaps just as reliable when it comes down to it. And cheaper! Resale value after 5 years is still good. I recommend the Nissan Frontier in the manual transmission. Can't speak for the automatic transmission. Only thing I don't like is the back seats are uncomfortable, and there is not much space in crew cab or the short bed.
