Rock solid

2011 Nissan Frontier SV 4dr King Cab 6.1 ft. SB (4.0L 6cyl 5A)
I have a 2011 Frontier. Every thing they say here is pretty much true. It is a little old fashioned, not the most comfortable vehicle I have ever owned but one thing stand out for me. I have 125,000 miles on mine, and I have yet to spend a dime on a repair. Usual maintenance items like oil changes, new brakes at about 100,000k, wipers 2 new batteries and nothing more. When I think back … on my other trucks, which needed transmissions, air conditioners, timing belts, etc, there is no comparison. Other than a tight fit for my 3 German Shepherds in the back seat, it hauls everything I need and pulls a light trailer with ease, even if the gas mileage drops a bit. I will happily trade years of reliable, trouble free service for any high tech gadgetry any day. I love driving my truck now as when I bought it 8 1/2 years ago.
This is my update: My Frontier continues to deliver. Did start running a little rough, had to replace the spark plug wires and plugs. I consider that routine maintenance, so as for as I am concerned, still not a single issue.
Update 2020. Still going strong. No new issues, continues to run strong with no problems. I have not driven it much this last year as I work at home and like everyone else, staying home. This has been a GREAT truck.
2021: Retired now, (me, not the truck) truck still going strong, no mechanical or maintenance problems. Everything still works, no rattles, no squeaks. Sure, it would be nice to get a newer model truck but really, how would that be worth it? This has, far and away, been the best vehicle I have ever owned as far as value and reliability go.
Still chugging along, 130,000 miles still no maintenance, engine or drive train issues. I did finally get a tiny tear in the passenger seat seam. Full disclosure, I have 3 German Shepherds who insist on taking turns sitting in the front seat so I don't see this as a fault of Nissan! This has truly been an outstanding vehicle in every regard.
This truck continues to do its job. I don't drive all that much, but it is always ready. I have about a 15 mile drive into town, usually to pick up animal feed or building supplies. Still no mechanical issues, continues as reliable and dependable as always. This has been far and away the most dependable vehicle I have ever owned. I see no need to replace it. Just a great truck.
Still running fine. At 136,000 miles now with no mechanical issues. Did have a spark plug go bad, which caused some rough running although still very drivable. The mechanic suggested replacing all the plugs and wires, which I did just for peace of mind. I had replaced then several years ago, and like the last time, I consider spark plug and wire replacement routine maintenance. NGK spark plugs are not cheap anymore I found out. But overall, the truck continues to perform. I have never had a mechanical failure with this vehicle in 12 years.
Still going strong. Did have the ABS, Slip and VDC warning lights come on (when my wife was skidding around in a muddy campground), possibly a bad wheel sensor. But the light went out after a few days and hasn't been back on since. Will have it checked out since she is due for some new tires anyway. I love this truck.
143,000 miles. Still running fine. Did have a transmission cable break, pulling out of a parking lot space. Not that of to expensive of a repair, my dogs have a habit of jumping into the front seat and frequently hit the shifter lever while in Drive into Neutral which is probably why it eventually broke. I can't complin, after over 13 years this is the first thing to actually break on this truck.
Hit 150,000 miles the other day. A few months ago, I had one side of the catalytic converter system go bad which required replacement. According to my mechanic, that is about the time those tend to start going out. Not a cheap fix but a whole lot cheaper than a new truck! Still runs fine, plan on keeping this truck as long as it keeps running. Cheaper these days to pay for repairs than shell out for a newer truck and this one does everything I need it to do, haul hay, animal feed, lumber and just general driving around. If this truck dies tomorrow, it will still be the most reliable, trouble free vehicle I have owned in 55 years of driving. I love it just as much now as the day I bought it, brand new, from the dealer
